ha, yw!
Whenever I try copy Startup-config running-config, I get a message Lincense boot Modulec2900 technalogy- package datak9, and it will reject the copy command.
strange, i don't recall seeing that
Yo A, you are a genius, please how do I reset my 2911 to a Factory or wipeout the system files, U tried Confreg 0x2142, erase the config Startup etc but I can not save my on config files. Pkease help
after it boots with 0x2142, look for the startup config file ... try "dir flash:" and "more flash:/config.text" and copy it for later.
Can you briefly explain the upgrade process using the install media image. i.e. to directly upgrade using the USB stick?
For USB install, it’s a fresh install so you don’t have to worry about incremental upgrades along the way When you download from Juniper.net support.juniper.net/support/downloads/ you look under “Install Media” Do not use “Install Package” which is for scp over-the-network transfer upgrade within /var/tmp of RE I downloaded this one... VMHost USB Installer 64-Bit 22.2R3-S2 07 Sep 2023 gz (4457.48MB) 1 - Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port on your computer. 2 - Download the install media image for this USB procedure, you can find the image on the official website under “Install Media” images: support.juniper.net/support/downloads/ 3 - Format the USB device to FAT32. 4 - Using RUFUS, Balena, Win32 Disk Imager, PHYSDISKWRITE.EXE to write the install-media file www.balena.io/etcher/ 5 - Open Balena for example, select the image package, the USB, and then click on FLASH, you can use default values Fat32 and just look the USB file with the file directory search. 6 - Insert the USB drive into the USB port of the router and reboot or power on, it will automatically boots from the USB image, you will see this: "WARNING: The installation will erase the contents of your disks. Do you wish to continue (y/n)?" Note: This is why you MUST be on the console, so you can respond to this prompt. Otherwise the router will appear to hang, as it waits at this prompt. 7 - Enter y to reboot the router. 8 - Follow the instructions displayed on the console: Eject the installation media and hit [Enter] to reboot?
Top level content. Clear explanation and execution.
I'm glad you liked it... and thanks for the compliment! My look into VXLAN innerworkings was very interesting to me and I wanted to share it!
Hi Aaron, thank you so much for this guide. I have a question: I followed your steps exactly, but everything only started working after a full reboot. What could be the issue related to this?
Strange, I am unsure. I would have to see what was occurring prior to the reboot.
Best explanation

Still relevant today. I'm new to Juniper and am tasked with this at work... This has relieved much anxiety over the task!

I do cover Juniper VC in a course I teach for StormWind Studios, JNCIS-Ent Switching. Link below... Thanks @aaron for the guides provided in juniper. Any way we can test profile-6 ASM mode in Juniper interconnected to cisco. I had done a lab and could observe the tunnel interfaces for the PIM encapsulation/de-capsulation is not getting formed in juniper. I have already enabled the tunnel-services in pic, Is this something we can achieve in eve-ng?
Hi, I'm not sure what you mean by "profile-6".... check these config and verification commands... you may have to modify the IP addresses and interfaces for your environment. Also, I would have to refresh my memory on the Cisco side. I would think this is do-able in EVE-NG. I think I've actually done all cisco multicast testing and later all juniper multicast testing both in EVE... so I would have to re-verify... hope that helps all mcast router network links... set protocols pim interface ge-0/0/0.0 set protocols pim interface ge-0/0/1.0 rp config... What woıld be actual transport protocol. L3VPN i guess?
I'm not demonstrating anything about the transport protocol here in this video, nor am I speaking of L3VPN. Here I'm only talking about an ethernet interface and how to send and receive frames with various tagging configurations.
@@aarontechtalk ok but how you achieve this in real world with 2 different locations? What will encapsulate the ethernet frame?
ah, of course... many ways. If you need to emulate layer 2 between the 2 sites, you could either do it the old fashion way with switches in between and vlans... or the newer way, would be various Layer 2 VPN types....mef calls them eline, elan, etree... but the industry implements them using various sp core network virtualization methods, using mpls or segment routing... vpls, pseudowire using ldp or sr...with or without mpls. i understand that pbb can do it, but i've never used it. vxlan can also do this l2 emulation over a pure ip core. if Layer 3 is needed between the sites, then it's layer 3 vpn methods using bgp-based vpn's or ldp based.
@@aarontechtalk thanks This the answer that i need
where are the credentials??!!!!!!!!!!! it's very frustrating, I can't find them anywhere!!!!
Are you talking about credentials for logging in to vLabs? If so, you have to create an account.
