I cannot comment on the qualit y of the translation as I don't speak Persian, but the sentiments in the poem seem very interesting (despite a few mistakes in the English here and there). I'd give him an F minus for his ethics, especially considering he bombed my home, but an A for his art. I'm not shedding any tears over him committing suicide but had he been locked up for the rest of his life and whilst imprisoned painted more paintings like these, I wouldn't torch them either. You can applaud someone for their good deeds and hate them for their bad ones.

Some are good, some are bad. But one thing is certain: he did not put any expression in his paintings (or atleast tried to avoid to). From a distance I can't even tell if 3:28 is a painting or a photograph (not as if it is bad).

It is scary. A man with many shades. This sensibily was the one to drive him to have extreme views on people and the world. Why is the music so loud and bombastic?! Are you a Hitler lover or something? That said, to my amateur eye some of these paintings looked really good and it is clear he was at a high level of technical skill that is is certainly superior of most of postmodern 'art' Yes really good and might have excelled at drawing out gardens and buildings for architects and garden designers. Also who said he couldn't draw people? He clearly could. Madonna with Child in the garden is my favourite. It's really pretty.

All the people who are comparing his work to modern art saying it's better are full of shit. You should instead compare artworks from other artists of the same period, and same style preferably.

If he got into art school, history would never be the same. As a young man; he wanted to be a painter or an architect but he was rejected from art school. He wasn't such a bad artist. He was a struggling artist selling some of his original paintings & postcards.

Art makes you feel. That's how I define art. This is actually better art than a lot of "modern art" I've seen. Like, completely ignoring the fact this was made by one of history's worst monsters, it still evokes more feeling. It gives a sense of odd sadness. A world that is dying, a world that has grown old and lost it's vigor, slowly passing away, and these are it's scenes. Fucking paint smacked onto a canvas with absolutely no structure, and two colored square doesn't make me feel. It's boring. The first time you see a painting like that you feel confusion, and every time after it's just dull. It's not creative, it's lazy. Do something, literally anything as long as it evokes more than "okay this literally looks like you stole a kindergartener's finger painting".
