In his eyes Cybertron was dead, the planet had become too unstable and even if they could repair the planet it would take them thousands upon thousands of years to do that. It’s just not feasible especially with the little resources they have left, they struggled to find enough Energon to escape Cybertron during the war there’s no way they’d have enough to survive on Cybertron. Optimus knew this and deep down so did she she just doesn’t want to admit it. Optimus knew Earth would be safer for the Autobots than Cybertron.

Having watched the show and now having learned about (but not read) the comics at length, I have concluded the comics are pretty poor source material and it's great to see what Amazon has done with the story thus far.

the thing people don't like the most about Superman is because the power system is ilogical or rationally false, for example in Superman prime 100m he obtains power from the sun (a small star in the universe) but his attack potential becomes galaxy level - the multiverse. it is not a coherent power relationship, and the concept of how he obtains power (powerup) is not clearly defined and is scientifically incorrect, even though his power system uses scientific terms and does not use pure abstract magic.
