Black Flame Epoxy Table, My Best Work Yet
มุมมอง 3K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
As a beginner woodworker I finally built up the courage to make my first epoxy river table. I think I am starting to break out of the weekend DIY woodworker label to something a bit more professional. This is my most expensive project to date, and I definitely had to use a lot of techniques and tricks to get this far. I used a slab from a 150 year old sycamore tree to create this table with a b...
The Beggars Epoxy Table, Thrifty Woodworking 101
มุมมอง 8K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is how I've built an epoxy table for under 150$. I am a beginner woodworker so I have to save every penny, hope I could teach you something about the design process when you are broke haha. I used a really dark epoxy with this charred wood, I am pretty proud of myself for sticking with this project, as it was quite difficult. Making Techwear on a 100 year old Sewing Machine
มุมมอง 9577 หลายเดือนก่อน
I make a modern fashion trend inspired tactical front-pack with my 100 year old singer sewing machine. I always wanted to experiement with wearing techwear but the style is just too expensive, so I started to make my own stuff. I have been working with leather for about 8 years now, I hope I have improved some along my journey, still lots to learn though... Feel free to critique in the comments...
Making my first 1000$ table, Rough beginnings
มุมมอง 2.9K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is how I made a 1000$ epoxy and hardwood table, I had to solve lots of huge mistakes and difficult problems along the way, but in the end I made something that any beginner woodworker would be proud of. I am just starting out on my woodworking journey, mostly trying to break the barrier from weekend DIY projects to professional woodworking. Feel free to critique in the comments, and if you...
I'm a leatherworker. This is my wallet.
มุมมอง 1.1K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
I created this leather wallet to prove to myself that I still got it. I used the most pristine leather for my own bespoke wallet. I used hand sewing, saddle stitching, and my singer simanco sewing machine to create this, for your viewing pleasure. I have been working with leather for about 8 years now, I hope I have improved some along my journey, still lots to learn though... Feel free to crit...
What it takes to flatten a monster slab without pro tools
มุมมอง 2729 หลายเดือนก่อน
I have a tiny workshop, and I need to flatten these very expensive wood cookies. This is how an amateur woodworker handles this challenging task. I am just starting out on my woodworking journey, my methods are questionable but I get it done no matter what. Feel free to critique in the comments, and if you are interested in my progress follow my journey. Lots of content coming up, Cheers, Hefes...
100 year old sewing machine VS Brand new Singer Heavy Duty
มุมมอง 62K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video I will compare the skills of a 100 year old Singer 66 and a modern Singer Heavy duty. I made 5 leather bags with the machines, can you tell the difference in quality and design ? I'm an engineer based in Europe. I made this channel to challenge my creativity and test my skills in all fields. What It Takes To Use A 1920s Singer Sewing Machine
มุมมอง 42Kปีที่แล้ว
The restoration of this antique 1900s Singer sewing machine was an awesome journey. Learning this unique skill has been a challenge, sewing with a treadle is definitely a difficult process, especially catching the rhythm! Step back in time with me as I try to breathe new life in this vintage classic, preserving a piece of textile history. From what I hear I can use this for leather stitching to...
100 Year Old Original Singer Machine Restored, so much rust removed !
มุมมอง 25Kปีที่แล้ว
This is the final installment in my series on the 1920's Singer Simanco Sewing machine restoration. It was an awesome challange to learn how to assemble this machine, I plan to sell it in the future but for now I want to learn how to use my sewing skilly to operate it, and design some products for it. I finally finished each part and now it is fully assembled, and I think the results speak for ...
Restoring a 1920's Singer Sewing Machine Table, A World-Class Antique
มุมมอง 53Kปีที่แล้ว
I bought this run down Singer Simanco Sewing machine for 25$, and restored it to its original condition as best as I could. This was one of the most interesting restorations I have ever done, and I plan to continue with this series until I have a fully functional sewing machine, that I can use to sew whatever I want to. Follow me on my journey to make this dream a reality! I'm an engineer based...
Burned slab table building
มุมมอง 401ปีที่แล้ว
I designed this softwood table top, because I watched too many of Blacktail studio's videos, and was inspired. Definitely not as easy as it seems, messed up a bunch of times, but stuck with it and made a tabletop for my singer sewing machine, that I can be proud of. I got this piece of lumber from an old job I had. It dried for 12 years in an attic, and this was my best effort at bringing its b...
Restoring an original Singer Sewing Machine Table
มุมมอง 8Kปีที่แล้ว
I bought this 1900s singer sewing machine table for 25 bucks on Facebook Marketplace. With about 2 weeks work I restored it to an awesome satisfying condition. I plan to build a tabletop for it and eventually attach a Singer Simanco machine from the previous century. So follow along, plenty more to come! Bespoke Leather Bag for a Tough Client
มุมมอง 1.9Kปีที่แล้ว
I made this leather handbag for my girlfriends mom, as per her request. She wanted a genuine bespoke leather bag, that matched the design of her previous fashion item. I gave it my best shot and managed to make one of the best sewn items I have made. I used my singer heavy duty machine to sew this bag, and it managed nicely even though this isn't its first rodeo. I used genuine cow leather and ...
Japanese joinery is hard, my attempt at three-way castle joints
มุมมอง 1.3Kปีที่แล้ว
I made a 3 way castle jointed pot holder for my cactus, using reclaimed wood. I tried to use my very limited knowledge about woodworking and limited number of tools to create something that is both functional and aesthetic. This was an exercise in precision. I am still building up my muscle memory with japanese saws, so probably a more forgiving project would be best for the next try. If you ha...

You did an awesome job. Thanks for sharing. Oh and Happy New Year! 🎉
22:38 - "this isn't a Singer 66 type machine, only a Singer Simanco". It's a Singer 15. But also, "Simanco" just means, "[SI]nger [MAN]ufacturing [CO]mpany".
For the stains around the holes, you might have success with Oxalic Acid. Also, for the drawers, you could use some paste wax to allow them to slide more easily.
I always praise the bags I buy from kislux , to be honest, its durability is very good, much higher than the original
nice work
Excelente trabalho❗👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Good luck getting a thousand dollars. What people list things for on eBay and what they get are two different things.
My grandmother was still making clothes on one of these in the 80s. She never liked the electric motor version.
Great backpacks and loved your comparison.
Good video. I love the vintage one.
My ancient hand-cranked Singer is powered by grandchildren. ❤
Wow! Very cool! Thanks!
I wish my 1895 or 1905 im not overly sure but the singers belt is not working, so the cast iron pressure foot will work but no needle will work. i was thinking of trying to get a timing belt for a car to to try to get it to work but all the mechanical things work perfectly, it weighs a frigging ton, my great great grandmother owned it, I always dreamed about sewing with it its so beautiful. It has the spynx on it and the pyramids in gold trim. She was so proud when her 2x granddaughter started sewing lessons at 6yrs old and wanted me to have it she would be SEW proud of what I've been able to create.
please tell me where you got these stickers
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL... BRAVO...!
Impressive that you restored it to working condition. I on the other hand would have "restored" it and turned it into a lamp!🙂 That will be my next project. The base will become a table. I don't sew.🙃
Has trabajado duro en ella. Pero la pintura original no estaba en mal estado. Yo no la hubiera eliminado.
It smells bad bc it’s dead tissue.. cells that have grown out and died, similar to our nails and hair.. and also 100+ years old.
Glad to see you have an antique all human piwered save a firtune on electricity
Mom still has that heavy duty i dustrial Singer sewing machine and its a piwer house beast .
I don't understand why they can't make a new manual/mechanical model with more stitches for people that want do off grid. It doesn't need to be cast iron, it could be stainless steel or aluminum. The plastic ones are just plain ugly. I would probably even bug a lower cost electric plastic model if they shaped it more like the original.
Enjoyed the previous restoration video and great to see the final result of all that work with the Machine functioning smoothly. It looks very similar to the series 66 Singer.Apparently back stitching is possible by pushing the back lever to the up position-lifting the foot and moving the fabric forward. Kind regards Aaron
I have a 1938 15-88 treadle bought new by my grandma. Came to my mom when I was a kid so toyed with it a few times as a kid, just getting it so sew, not actually making anything. Came to me 40 years ago and it has just been an ornament till I recently retired. Having fun using it, made a couple things, going to try denim next and was surprised at how much power you got from the treadle. Hint: Grandma kept a chunk of resin in the drawer, I assume she used it to stop slipping (main belt), and a chunk of beesax to promote slipping :) I use the wax on the end of the thread, then cut, it slices the fibres clean and stiffens the thread, easier to thread the needle.
Nice job. Sandblasting would save you lots of time and effort.
It looks like my 15-88
Using steel pliers on a knurled nut! Cretin!
Well done. I enjoyed watching.
good job well done! what kind of singer heavy duty are you using?
4:45 This!!! I can disassemble this very easily BUT assembling it again is a brainrot task and if not done correctly it will upset my mom lol. I want to make CAD model and working animation of this machine for which i have to disassemble the whole machine, measure every single part and assemble it again!!! Sadly it seems an impossible task now without wrecking it still i will give a try!!
Second clip while playing the handpan almost sounds like the first notes of in the end by linking park
Hello, first time watching this channel, is there a reason the technique is such a difficult one used? I can see that simple changes in technique would make life so much easier. For starters a leather awl would make sewing the leather layers so much easier. Also on the decorative leather straps if this is not over the seam then why wait until the “cylinder” is seamed and turned to attach it? If it is over the seam there are several variations of methods to use to actually sew it in the the seam I cannot recommend one over the other because I do not know the intended style. All and all this was a pleasant beginner sewing video to watch. I hope to see a future video with better technique someday though.
nicely done on paper.....now for broadcloth or muslin ...I will say that the tension on your stitching looks spot on.
Your first mention of a French seam is actually a butterfly seam, but when you refer to "frenching" a seam, it looks like you're top stitching
I can't seem to get the treadle to engage the needle. I've checked the length of the cord, it is neither too long or too short. I trun the upper wheel by handle and the needle goes up and down but it doesn't if I try to pedal. What's wrong?
I have almost the same machine. How do I know what size needles it can use?
Gorgeous!
I know a few people who have a treadle sewing machine similar to yours and they love sewing with it better than using an electric sewing machine.
You do beautiful work. I watched your videos about refurbishing your vintage sewing machine. I am so happy you refurbished the old Singer because they are such a gem and are a work of art, more than your new monstrocity Singer, (as you say). Look how amazing it sews and it's 100 years old, it was made when things were made to last. New machines are made with many plastic parts which is built in obsolescence. You have many talents and it is very interesting to watch your videos. You said that you were posting your backpacks for sale on some local Hungarian site. So you are Hungarian?
The best way to release old oil is to add more oil. Oil is a solvent. The machine is made to handle sewing machine oil. Same idea for getting the shafts out. Add oil. Lots and lots of sewing machine oil. It's usually not rust that is keeping things together. It's oil. Also there's probably lead in the paint. End result looks good though. Nice.
Beautiful ❤
Thank you, means a lot <3
@@hefestodesign ❤❤❤
Please minimize fast forwarding. Better to show the beginning and then the end of each step than to speed through it. At speed , it's difficult to see what's actually being done.
As others have mentioned, your machine oil is old and cruddy. Oxidated or something. The oil should be clear. I have read that light is its enemy, so I made a little opaque cover for my oil bottle. Just in case you need a small project to sew!
Beautiful..keep up the great work ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Really cool build and great video, keep it up.👍 When using the plunge router and making the table round, try out mounting the router in your workbench, then drilling the center in the bench at the needed radius, there will be no wobble, when making the first pass. Anyway, great to see other makers /small channels as myself creating great things with tools that are available!💪
Thanks for the tip!
Amazing video...amazing work....what is the exact model of this sewing machine?...do you know where (site/link) can i verify the country of production?i know that i should enter the s/n scribed on the plate...
It looks like a Singer model 15. You can search the serial number in the ISMAC database. It's the international sewing machine collectors society.
Zinger
You should NOT run the machine with the presser foot down...two things...the feed dogs will scratch the presser foot...and the foot can DULL the feed dogs...If you wish to run the machine with the presser foot DOWN be sure to have fabric in . Its ok to run the machine without fabric IF you keep the presser foot raised.
When I started watching this video I wasn't expecting for you to come as far as you came disassembling the machine! I haven't seen other people manage to clean so deeply a vintage machine like you did. Even though you were mad because you couldn't take out the main shaft, I was amazed by your work! Congratulations!
To sew backwards, just pull up the presser foot lever up (while the wheel is still spining) and slide the fabric backwards; to continue forwards, just drop the food back down. It takes some practice, but it only works on treddle machines because you need a free hand to lift the lever and move the fabric backwards simultaneously. Otherwise, you can stop the needle in the fabric and do a 180 turn and stitch normally.
Everyone who restores an antique sewing machine deserves a special reward.
