It’s not the size nor the power of the ocean that amazes me. Rather it’s the way that something so powerful and immense can repeatedly caress a beach with such tenderness and never tire of doing it
Good to see you getting it done, looking forward to seeing more runs in more extreme situations
Great work Ed! Really enjoyed seeing more content of the run, keep that up! What’s next?
Wow, you smashed that race. Well done and congratz on getting a sub-3 marathon! Paris looks beautiful too. That was a really great vlog.
Nice one, Ed! That looks like a lot of fun. You didn't see any naturists then? lol Great vlog. Thanks!
Welcome back Ed! I hope your 2025 goes great. Good luck with all your goals!
Mans ego so precious he had to time his own rest breaks lmao cant think of any reason why would care so much about rest periods being included other than other people seeing your runs. You get good value out of rest periods, tracking your HRR between reps, sets and over workouts allows you to see if your overreaching or not pushing hard enough
I like runna very much. I always have to go to strava and save my run there. I see it in strava notification, but I need to click save. You see statistics of your run in paid version. You can move runs around but you can't move the last run. For example, I was following an 8 weeks 5k plan, and I was sick for a week. I could not move the last run for the 9th week.. because it had to be 8 weeks... frustrating. I do not have garmin yet, do you know if I download a run to garmin, can I connect my Bluetooth earphones to garmin and receive messages from the runna? I want to stop running with my phone..
Thats a really good question! I would suggest you start off by walking 20mins everyday (preferably the morning) it’s a great way to kick start the day. Do that 5 - 7 times a week for a couple of weeks. Then start incorporating running. Run half a mile at an easy pace then walk half a mile. Do that for a couple of miles. After a few weeks just slowly increase the mileage. The most important thing is getting out even if it’s just for a walk. Build that discipline back :)
Good to see you back! What advice would you give someone who has lost motivation with fitness but also someone who doesn’t want to sign up to an event?
I order a Fenix 6X pro solar for 250 is still worth it in late 2024 or was it a mistake ?
Personally I have not used a Fenix 6X Pro Solar. I cant imagine there is much difference between them. Im sure its a good bet. My Fenix 6X Pro is still going strong, cannot recommend it enough! Recently I had to replace the strap which I got off eBay for £7.00.
What if I have a race in December then one in February, one in march can I update in the App
Well done matey, Ironman for life 🎉🎉🎉🎉
still worth it to buy this watch in 2024? kindly help me affirm my decision... thank you in advance
100% I have had mine now for about 4 years and use it everyday. It’s never missed a beat! I love the look of it and highly recommend
Good morning everyone, a question: when navigating on a loaded GPX track, is it possible to "lock the map" to follow the direction to follow? , every time we stop the map continues to rotate slightly, perhaps to update our position.. and it's not very clear where you need to go, where the route to follow is. Thank you
I got a pair of under armor HOVR Storm from ASOS for about £48 (on sale + voucher) because I liked the quick release laces and wanted something easy to pop on and off with lifting gloves on while I was doing strength sessions at the gym... I wasn't expecting them to also be an absolute gem for the treadmill, too! I wouldn't necesarrily recommend them for indoor use because the water proofing does make them quite warm - but i couldn't deny the black and pink colour way was so fresh and out there... but also, that HOVR foam is really, really good to run in. My outdoor training shoe is actually a Puma ForeverRun Nitro and I'm basically all in on the Puma Nitro foam at this point - but I was very surprised at how good the UA foam was as well! Far exceeded all expectations!
@Ed_williamson will they get wet in day to day walking in the rain????
Bought this watch last weekend for 136 pounds, an absolute bargain. Really loving it. It’s my 3’rd Fenix. They just work😁👍
Love that! That’s really is a steal! Haha
Me too last month but for 185 USD
Me too, last month but sapphire for 185 usd
Congratulations on your sub3! Qq’s, did you use the Runna for the whole training block? Did you get feedback from the coaches on the app? Did you reach out to them at all? I’m thinking of subscribing and curious to know your experience using it.
Thank you! Yes I used Runna for the entire training plan. I think I missed about 4 runs overall due to feeling fatigue. I did not mainly because you could tell all the message were automated. I do recommend subscribing. I’m not someone to endorse something I don’t think is worth while. I do credit my Runna training plan for my success in Paris and highly recommend it. I will be putting a full review video of the App out in the next couple of weeks.
Good video, just bought one the same as yours on ebay 3 days ago and so far am very happy with it. The good thing is you can buy spare parts for it if you need to. Mine had a screen protector on it and didnt realise it was on there untill I picked it off. So much better with out it, but should I put it back on? Thanks
Its such great watch. I personally always have a screen protector on it. You can get them on eBay for £2.00. I recommend using one.
Gracias por el video
Love how one second i'm watching a video about watches then suddently i'm back to engeneering classes with a graph and marginal benefits hahaha
A worse review ever Tell people about how the size fits compared with other brands
Its same as Nike
Way to alienate half your audience. “I can’t stand people who run in k’s” 🙄
Joke
Hi mate gonna try a sub 3 plan on Runna do you think it’s worth it
How about your trainning plan with Runna app? is this worth, thank you and congratulations on your!!!
Thank you very much :) I think it is worth it! I will be putting a full in depth review of the app out in the next couple of weeks so stay tuned.
Very impressive, well done. Enjoyed the training vids.
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed it!
I can relate to the endurance vs racing mindset. I can do tough things if they are slow, but I do tend to be nervous if there is a "time" element to the challenge. Well done, you got your sub 3, so far, every time I went for a time I kind of failed, but I am inching away at my times
Keep going I’m sure you’re smash it before long! :) I have found that following the Runna plan dedicated to getting a set time made all the difference for me
One of the best ones so far, really enjoyed it
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed it!
I just bought them in hawaii $50 in Ross 😅 though they are gym shoes because of the flat bottom 😅 I guess Ill do some running 🏃♂️ too 👌
Amazing thats such a bargain! Good effort, running is such a great combo combined with gym training.
I went to Ross again and they had the project Rock under armor $160 shoes for $40 also got another pair of shoes blue Salomon shoes they are around $160 as well 🙊🙈 now got 5 new pairs of shoes 😅
Nice training Ed! I hope the marathon went well.
Thank you! :) race video is out now
is it still a good option for 2024?
Yes 💯%! You can pick them up second hand at fairly reasonable prices.
@@Ed_williamson This was the same question for me too! Looking to get more into trail runs and I I do mountain biking already. My old iwatch its not cutting it anymore.
Yes, I have one that I bought used last year. Still have it and love it. I use for mountain biking, hiking ,peloton (in winter) , strength training etc. Never leaves my wrist unless I'm showering or charging. Incredible watch. My 3rd Garmin. Prior to that, I had 2 Samsung's. Garmin's are the best watches for me.
How did the marathon go? I downloaded the app and I didn’t have to pay for it. Would you recommend it for coaching? Etc I’d like to know if it’s worth paying for before upgrading. Did you find the training plan worked for you? 😊
It went well thank you! :) yes definitely especially if you’re doing any distance up to a marathon. Honestly I don’t know if I would have been successful had I not followed my Runna plan religiously. The plan I followed was challenging but it payed off in the end. I will be doing a full in-depth video on the Runna app so stay tuned :)
It's good to see your training has gone so well. I'm sure you will do great in your marathon! Oakley should hire you to sell their sunglasses lol. Those Alphaflys are so cool! Good Luck in Paris!
Thank you! Haha that would be the dream!
Would love to hear a review of the app after your race, good luck!
Certainly! I plan to do a full in depth review after my marathon :)
Just wondered if living in the northern hemisphere, I should run in a clockwise or anticlockwise direction? Any advice greatly appreciated
If I were you, I'd recommend following the ancient wisdom of the migratory birds: flap clockwise in the spring for that extra push from the Earth's rotation, and then switch to anticlockwise in the autumn to catch the tailwind of the changing seasons. Just make sure to wear your running shoes, not your wingtips!
Please edit your video and hide your email address. Risky business, otherwise good video
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Good luck with your marathon! Do you feel that Runna's prepared you well ?
Thank you! :) Yes 100% Its been so helpful. I have never used a plan before but I have really enjoyed the structure and simplicity of the App. Highly recommend :) I am going to do a Runna App review this week
How soft are them? Really nice review, just got one as I am a beginner runner 🏃🏻♀️ I have an ultra boost but it’s so soft that makes me unstable to use it.
They are not as soft a Hoka shoes but they do provide a lot of ankle support. Personally I would describe them as firm over soft. Just a great all round daily running trainer! :)

Nice vlog Ed! I like running in the rain too, it feels quite refreshing I might have to try that protein powder sometime. I have been using the peaksupps soy protein (as it's the cheapest one i could find).
I really recommend running in the rain it's so refreshing! I have never tried soy protein but I do recommend the one I am currently using for price and results.
Thanks for sharing your experiences and advice, that was a very interesting video. I also had some problems with alcohol when i was younger. It wasn't super bad, but did lead to poor decisions and i didn't feel like i had control of the amount i drank. I ended up quitting drinking for about 5 years. There are some great videos by SwiftFilms and TheMessyHappy talking about how they quit drinking (they also both make excellent running videos). It does seem like quite a few fitness enthusiasts and athletes have been affected by issues with alcohol.
Thanks for sharing. I have heard so many positive stories from people who have quit alcohol. It's amazing the impact it has on peoples lives. Thanks for the recommendation I will check them out!
nice training! you did well despite being burnt out. That is smart to not push your training too hard while fatigued
Just bought one second hand on ebay with Sapphire and solar. Really didn’t want to lump out for an epix or 7 when I’m new to garmin anyway. I’ve abused my apple watch 6 and it’s pretty terrible for workout tracking so looking forward to the change. Great video helped me affirm my decision.
Love that! You can get some great bargains on eBay. I have heard that Apple watches are not great for fitness tracking. I’m glad the video helped :)
Exactly same thoughts here! Its an awesome product.
It really is! Love Garmin watches
Congratulation on completing your 100 mile ultra. That is incredible being able to come top 10% on your first race! Would you ever do another 100 mile ultramarathon? or a longer multi day event? Very inspiring. Thanks for the video!
Thanks JP! Yes I would love to do another 100 mile ultra. Perhaps even a 200mile ultramarathon. It’s been great trying to train for a sub 3 but I much prefer running far. Have you done any ultras? I’m glad you like my content :)
No, I'm just a casual runner thinking about signing up for my local half marathon. Good luck with your training for Paris Marathon!
That’s amazing! Definitely do it I’m sure your do amazing! Thank you
I will have to buy a pair of the machina, they look great. I bought a pair of the under armour sonic 4 (as they are only £35 at sports direct atm) and i have really liked them
That’s an absolute bargain! I really loved the sonic 4!
Great video! Looking forward to the video about poles.
Thanks! If you would like any specific content please shout :)
Just seen these for sale on sport direct for £42, looking at getting these for the treadmill as that all I’m able to run just now
That’s a bargain, good effort!
I really like the New Balance 1080 fresh foam v12. So comfortable and soft on the foot and really good mileage in them. Now trying some ON shoes, dont know what to think of them yet. Maybe i should try these Under Armor ones then ;)
I will check them out thanks for sharing! :)
