Great fix for my Dyson Animal 2. I just got new carpet and it was hard to use the vacuum. I received the O rings - instructions on how to install were very clear and now it works like a charm! Thank You Michael. 🙂

As expensive this product is itself, the Dyson should have fixed this issue. Like really disappointing.

Absolutely fantastic! My vacuum doesn’t keep stopping now as it has done since we bought it 6 months ago. All Dyson could suggest to fix the problem was to trade this in and spend another $800 on a stick vacuum! I had the rubber washers in my garage so no cost to fix the problem. That’s $800 saved. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing this solution! I was ready to return my vacuum because of this issue. I used #15 1”O.D x 3/4” I.D “O” rings. The vacuum still picks up great and it is much easier to use.

When we tried to vacuum our new carpet, we ran into the very issue you describe. We bought your kit, I installed it today, and the Dyson works great!!! I hope this works!! I found an article saying that the arrows on the filter located in the ball MUST be lined up. If they are off a little bit it will be hard to push. I think that's what your issue is, mine works great on carpets like yours.

This solution worked!! We purchased a Dyson Ball 2 from Costco at a great price only to find this vacuum to not perform as it should. I located a few O-Ring gaskets from a plumbing kit (never throw away parts) and found 2 rings that fit perfectly. Excellent fix, Michael. Thanks.

First time buying a dyson and first thing i noticed how strong it was but also quite annoying how the suction was so strong it would not move! I recall older better built vacuums use to have the levels for different carpet. Great solution. I can’t believe dyson doesn’t have a solution to this. Their help department was clueless.

Do you have any solution to fix my vacuum?. It will not continuously run the beater bar.it stops and starts. I’ve removed all hair from everything including taking off the spindles. I’m thinking it may be the gear and maybe the belt

It worked great everywhere, but a shag rug, and a couple higher pile rugs. Went searching...found this vid' by Michael Hart. Ordered right away. Tried shimming with some network ties myself while waiting. Tried shimming with rubber bands while waiting. Those didn't really work for me. Once Michael's solution arrived I was able to quickly and easily install it and BAM! I was able to vacuum anything and everything. Brilliant. On top of that, my post office screwed up our Change of Address for nearly two months. Just happened to be during the time that I ordered from Michael. At his expense he reshipped two times until finally our local post office got their act together. Heh, we should bill them! :) He made sure I got the product and it's been working ever since. I recommend this solution and Michael to anyone who needs it and his help.

i purchased your products maybe 2 years ago after we had new thicker carpet installed and the vacuum became very difficult to push. Your product worked very well for maybe a 18 months then it did not work. I ordered a set of 4 maybe again, 4 to 6 months ago thinking the others wore out. Still does not work. Still hard to push. If you ever come up with a newer product for this problem please let me know. Mine is a dyson but I think it my be the cheaper model. It is called the Dyson Light Ball

I tried your fix with the two O-rings and that did the job for high density carpet can't believe how much suction the vacuum has it's like I never vacuumed in years had a Kirby Deluxe that I thought was doing a really good job four times the amount of this one that I bought Dyson animal 2 origin thanks for the tip I knew it was something simple just a little bit over engineered but you wanted to suck that's bottom line right there it it does

our carpet is way to thick for this solution to work. i feel cutting the rubber gasket would be best
