We took it out for a ripp and started to piss down rain, did not have a chance to tune , so we let it ripp, very hard to point, grass wet. Yes, I know what you are talking about as I am running 2 rings. It's very hard to get a single ring piston. I have been looking for another piston, the same one you have talked about.

Just thought about it: the problem you had once the engine warmed up and top end power drop of a bit. I did have that problem before, but now it's not as bad now if all.. With issues with clutch holder slipping, leaking at the base of the cylinder and a kink fuel line, and now the problems sort out. For some reason, the rovan single ring piston is hard to find, so I am looking for a replacement piston of a chainsaw 😮

Only on a dry day, I run it. As I learned before driving it on wet day and I had surface rust on the bolts and dog bones. It's to nice to get muddy. 💯👍

@@robertblunden7160 the theory that the flow is cylindrical in the case is not so true. The flow goes directly up the side of the bearing and over the edge .. don't get me wrong the slash does do something but direct does work better for me

Are you talking about big end (rod)bearing or the side crank bearings

You need olimat 45 pipe, Taylor might have in stock, 32 to 35 pipe to small

The only olimat pipe for a rovan 45cc is for a 5B only. You can use Rovan 71 pipe for rovan 45cc to suit a losi, but you have to change the stinger size between 16mm to 17mm. That will do the job

Rovan 45cc engine with olimat pipe, or Taylor 50 gt engine. Small bore are no good for a LT 4x4 because no torque . You need torque

@ is the Rovan 45 a good engine just like it is or is it necessary to modify it like your Baja?what mods wil be essential for it?

Rovan 45 I modified has more power than an OBR 35.7 and Taylor reed 35cc . The power is not much different from Taylor 50 gt engine

I think i wil give that 45 a go , do you perhaps have a list of mods and specs on that mods of yours that i can perhaps copy and try myself or can i work from your video you made with the head gasket delete and wj71 carb ect ?

How much to make a exhaust for my 71cc Baja

It's a lot cheaper than a Taylor 71. You soon see rovan 71 running towards the end of this month running . Your problem will be getting the right pipe to suit rovan 71cc, which no. one makes. I have worked out all the problems on the problems on the rovan 71.

Your main thing is you make sure every tight and the air filter must be oil to stop dirt going into the engine. Dirt kills engines and have the same pipe I am running for starter's

It will be the same motor on both and same mount of work to get to run better

I use a chainsaw cylinder, which is a bigger bore. Same bolt pattern and transfer port.

It's a Bauma-Ag SX62 62cc chainsaw. You have to do machine work to the crank case because it's a bigger bore and a drop bracket for the coil

We are going to try a higher ratio. It's not really handful to drive. Well it is, but iam use to it. But I need more room to do longer speed runs. Problem with high ratio not friendly on the clutch 🙄

I can hardly wait to see that. Yes it did seem like it was lien out once warmed up. Maybe check your fuel tank inlet or foaming up in the fuel tank maybe due to extra pressure in the fuel tank after awhile. Something like that could be going on. Fuel tank cap hole plugged fuel filter.

The problem is at the base of the cylinder leaking at the transfer ports after temperature warms up. Once that area is sorted out( it's like losing boost on a turbo), it will be like a rocket.

Have the right oil mixture ratio, clean and oil air filter , make sure all bolts ate lock tight.

These o rings do not hold the pins. have to use hose cramps to stop the problems 😫 got lucky, no nose dive.🤗

Thanks, she ripped, and this is the 50gt convert to 71cc and try 29 ratio on the pinion to see what speed we can get. There may be another 5km on top end ,but running out room on the field. We had the Rovan 45 out, and it was running good until we broke a clutch spring

Thanks, Buddy, the clutch shoe holder working well as I use a Zenoah shoe holder and machine the face of Zenoah holder by taking of 3mm to get the offset right. Now, it is time to take out metal clutch shoes out and put the normal shoes in .That will take the heat out.👍
