cool stuff. thanks for sharing
Nice tutorial!!!
Great tutorial. Thank You.
Very helpful, thank you for sharing !
thanks 👍
Best best , best tutorial ever…..
I think it is best tutorial available ..so far ..
Hi, great tutorial so far, just having issues with the vex on the iterations - it’s saying ‘invalid source /obj/son/attributenoise1/unified_noise_float_1. Error: Unable to evaluate expression (bracing error (obj/snow/attribute1/offset)).
This tuorial is too complicated to understand for me
Wonderful tutorial! Thanks for sharing!
very interesting, thanks !
Thanks for the great project. It's an excellent setup with a good explanation. However Houdini has disabled half the Labs nodes in use. You'll need to use the textport and 'opunhide Sop' in order to reactivate them as the new nodes with those names have entirely different functions.
Yea I'm having trouble opening the project file. I keep getting the "Failure to cook" message with red flags. Is what you're explaining why?
@@hdsquality9810 My comment was explaining how to access things like the curve sweep node and such as used in the video that have since been discontinued. They are still in the code, so it shouldn't break the example file. Do you have Labs installed?
The thing that bugs me about houdini is that in every versio they change lots of stuff in nodes
like what?
@dnch placement of elements, nodes, mixing nodes, way of doing certain things, deleting nodes. Etc
@@Helios.vfx. im using houdini for like 5 years and dont remember they changing something really drastically.. i mean they add new things but old workflows still work, do you have concrete example?
Inpiring☝💯
zajebisty
very well done tutorial
Thanks you so much! Please keep making these types of videos :) Subscribed ❤❤
Hey, I'm at the leaves bit and all my leaves are set to 1 direction they're not scattering around the trunk, not sure what I'm doing wrong
Thank you.
Is there any way to make them more accurate? Real snowflakes have 6 corners.
Did you solve this? It is just driven by the number of divisions in the original circle, so 6 instead of 8
This tutorial doesn't work with houdini 19, sorry but it's just not worth it's value anymore
Learned a ton from here, this is great, thank you!
Friend, I got stuck when installing the megascans plugin, an error occurs when exporting
Fantastic!:) ❤
Great tutorial! please, make some about bottle condensation.
everythign in this tutorial is fantastic but for some reason my randomiser just isnt working :(( can i have some help please
awesome!
Thanks alot i wanted this effect for my stranger things effect
Not really a tutorial but rather a "breakdown"... Anyway, great job !
Houdini version of this video is too much old. Some of node no more obtain, so major part of this video will not work anymore. Need version above "19.0" please.
the tutorial was made over a year ago, i followed the tutorial in 18.5, But i did get stuck on the voxel mesh node at 15:41, the interface of this node has changed (updated labs tools) and im getting red errors
@@WillPreston3D 3:49 [color gradient] I'm stuck here. Checked many times, but there're no same name node in the newest version. I found similar function node in "ver19.0" above. But it's also not completely same function anymore. Moreover, this tutorial is bit too much complex for the houdini beginners like me. Honestly say, using Zbrush for the rock structure is 100 times more practical than this. Is there any of more simple but more practical tech by houdini than Zbrush? If you can show us those nice simple "Tips", then I'm very appreciated.
@@RedBattalion9000 its actually called "Labs color gradient" when you're doing the tab search, you need to have sideFX labs tools installed or it wont show up. there are many different ways to create rocks, some procedurally, some destructively (zbrush), they both have their pros and cons. this tutorial is excellent,
@@WillPreston3D Thanks for telling me.
WHY WHY WHY SideFx? - Why do they change everything so quickly. It is so hard to folow any tutorials that are older than 1 day ;)
Thanks for very useful tutorial!
When I put the node unpack my disk becomes all pink, it does not take the image
Did you find a solution for this issue?
great tutorial thanks so much!:) i also tried using a curl noise for some variations and love the results. Any chance you could explain why you used the @up attribute when randomizing the rotation? I don't actually see a difference if I don't set the up attribute at all.
Can you make the composing part too for your fans?
Is anyone else getting their snowflakes flat after the rotation part?
Sir my mind stucked when you are doing coding please tell me where to learn coding for houdini
If anyone knows please tell me
Thank You very much!
Thank You very much!
How do I render the video lol XD
Thank you so much for this! Thank you so much! Quick question, on 10:16 you refer to a normal attribute that we set earlier, however, I can't find where we set it. What am I missing here?
I also don't get the same results in the orientation. The vex code doesn't work for me, and I've copied letter by letter
@@javidial me too :D did you manage to solve it?
@@pauly7189 No. but I managed to do something different. I don’t have my computer in front of me.
How does it work without UV? I'm trying to make the material builder myself with Redshift
Procedural triplanar projection or you can add UV's in houdini. better to add UV's and bakemaps so your renders are faster
Nice
do you happen to know that when I render my frame (i use redshift) why the render window gives me the next warning? Houdini node cooking error at '/obj/shatter/filecache1/topnet1/ropgeometry1/s/s' I guess it has some issues with my cached file, but don't know what exactly and how to resolve it
I put the Time into the Flow, not the Amplitude. That way the cloud doesn't fly apart over time. Great tutorial in any case, Thanks!
Cool stuff, although personally I would use MOPs for a lot of the randomization and animation of the dust (the paid MOPs+ would also allow for collision physics to be applied). But it's good to know the "proper" way to do this. Same technique could be applied to an asteroid field too! Thank you.
please upload to google disk, link is broken
thank you very much!
Just wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledges with us. Such a valuable contribution for those who learn Houdini. Greetings from Ukraine!
