    The grub screw is usually locked with a punch mark. Or you can use Loctite on it. If it comes loose no oil will go into crank. My three B44 can't have the sump plate with drain plug. Skid plate under engine don't give enough space. But the B40WD has one. When fitting outer cover, make sure that the small ball bearing in clutch mechanism is in place. Some grease will help.

    Sounds great. Looks decent. But the gap between the tank and seat looks a bit odd, and the front mudguard looks wrong and potentially dangerous. Could you not find a real one?

    • @i_hate_mosquitos
      @i_hate_mosquitos 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So the gap between the seat and the tank is something that the bone stock BSA 441 model range has. It’s a lot more noticeable with the alloy tank fitted! Are you familiar with the old Triumph desert sleds? The seat is shaped in the same style as the aftermarket seats used in the 60’s and 70’s on the old sleds. As for the front mud guard, I have a stock one, but because this is a dirt bike, needed more clearance so debris doesn’t jam up the wheel, hence why it doesn’t hug as closely to it. The stock forks are fairly weak (lotta people including BSA towards the end of the production run) upgraded to Cerianis to fix the problem. So it really needs a fender of sorts to strengthen it, another option would be a fork brace. As I live where there’s more mud than sand, I opted for a fender with more clearance!

      @@Seansworld17 man you gotta post a video of it! I’d love to see it rip! Just clicked through your channel! I see you’re a fellow Indiana boy. What trails do you go ride here in the great Hoosier state?

      I'm more Northwest Indiana, we have a public open ride in Plymouth Indiana. Use to ride at Attica but is very crowded and very dangerous. Was thinking of stepping up towards Michigan they have some trails there.

      @@Seansworld17 oh right on, I’m central Indiana. I’ll have to check out Plymouth. Been to Attica a couple times, the side by side guys there are really what make it so bad I think. Michigan’s definitely on my list though. I’d like to make it up to Silver Lake this summer specifically!

    Mine was an xr80, probably a 1980, and the galley where the cam rides wore down and caused the timing chain to go slack and bent the valves.

      This is part of what I love about the old bikes, they always stir up so many fond memories for people. Glad it brought back memories of your childhood man! This week I’m editing the footage for the rest of the top end, will be posting it this weekend so keep an eye out to hear it run! :D
