I came here to try and understand why all these years of me playing this game ..I never realized ..trunks does not turn SS2 in the show but in the game he does …but in budaki2 he has super trunks which is what happens in the show

They had special fusions with the dragon wish. Yamcha and Tien have one as well. Also Super Buu could absorb Frieza and I think Cell

Idk if they're in the game but you missed Tiencha fusion and Hercule Potara, also super buu absorption tien and yamcha. Theyre in budokai 2 but idk about 3

Now I know why I love this particular DBZ intro. : Its because it feels so canon... as if they were beginning a new chapter after Buu Saga in some strange way. I would have gone nuts had they did this for Super, but Goku is Super Saiyan 4, so this could be right after GT and some things happen to get time all screwed up. IAC, rhe man reason ILT is because Goku has been separated from everybody! He has reached Super Saiyan 4 and there's nobody next to him in power! It keeps Goku as the hero protagonist while allowing all other characters to remain the story in various ways. Sort of taking Vegeta's Buu statement revelation that Goku's the best. It never ends Vegeta's quest to pursue growth and power - they all continue... even more. However, Goku's Saiyan drive, his innate, earth inspired nature pushes him to pursue gambles in training, allies, masters and more. How much more awesome it then becomes to see them all grow, each warrior reaching new levels of power far below Goku at key and critical moments during awesomely displayed and told battles between Goku and new enemies. Think about it. I love the idea of Cell challenging himself, growing in skill, power and his own person outisde of having their techniques, but putting a spin on them all to reflect who he is. Now imagine him always coming back challenging Goku, Vegeta and Gohan, Piccolo. However, for Cell, their are Goku's old enemies and new ones who get in the way and for Cell, he has to go through them to get to the others... sort of his rivalry with Frieza, Cooler, new villains and others - he becomes Goku in a sense. That changes things at times because like all Saiyans, Cell has that pride thing too, but as an android believing in Gero's genius up to a point. Man, there are so many possibilities... so many stories that could be told!

You had to earn that ssj4 transformation I’ll tell u that

The only flaws with budokai 3 were the "character turns red" for the "dragon rush" mode and the "dragon rush mode" being so overly abused by the input reading game ruining npc / cheating players. Also, the story mode was dissapointing for being misleading about being what tenkaichi 2 ended up being. Its also worth noting they seemed to have messed up cells voice lines. Infinite world did a few things better, had cool concepts for mini games that werent very well made. Added some things like maps and characters like janemba. Burst limit looks amazing, but i never played it so idk. But it truly looked like the sequel to budokai 3. Personally, budokai 1 and 2 had some of the worst gameplay out of all dbz games but budokai 1 did almost have the perfect storymode setup. Budokai 2 was lame overall but it did a few things right. Id condense the budokai series into 2 games. Id do the same for tenkaichi. Definitely would have made sure dbz kakarot was WAY better, if they designed the game world right once, then those assets could have been reused for sparking zero, and a mmo dbz game that doesn't have lame gameplay like xenoverse and kakarot does. Sure was fun to play budokai 3 and tenkaichi when the opponents were of similar skill levels and didnt cheat but actually played the game.

Not having 17 & 18 fuse into either a confused Perfect Cell, or Perfect Cell with their voices is a crime.

This game always gave people trouble trying too charge ki. Which made me chuckle.

Why’d they give future Trunks a ssj2 form instead of the lore accurate bootleg Broly form? Could’ve made a nice animation where his jacket rips apart or something

lol this game had some of the best Dragon Ball graphics to me. It just hit just right as a child and still today.
