Y'all may have broken a record for the amount of forehead on one video. That sounds like an awesome beer. A year in Bourbon and a year in Rum barrels. That's a lot of nice flavors to impart a beer style that's known for dark fruit notes. I wonder if the barrels helped sharpen any cherry or date type flavors you may get from a barleywine normally.

Just did a comparison between Sierra Nevada Snowed In(6.5%;30 IBU's) and Sam Adams OVP Porter(5.8%;35 IBU's). The Snowed In is a winter warmer but with no spice component. Malty vanilla brown bread nose. Taste: Biscuity, roasty, chocolate, and toffee. Average carbonation. Smooth balanced finish. Was very impressed. Is an ascending A in the 95 range. Really liked the OVP as well. Both beers actually drank like porters. Probably will rate them a flat footed tie; the Snowed in had a medium body more heft than the OVP. Still have a couple of beers from the mixed pack to try.

I’ve been waiting to buy & try it. As of January 2025, it’s still not sold much or at all in Kentucky.

FYI, Redemption Rock closed for good on Dec. 29. They were a great bunch of people and brewed some fantastic stuff.

What I taste is a slightly cherry tobacco, chocolaty Tootsie roll flavor and nutmeg. What do you think of the change over from bottles to cans?

I'm shocked you're reviewing a lager. I was under the assumption if it wasn't whiskey barrel aged/nothing south of 10%, it wouldn't be worthy of your critique ;-) The color was a bit hard to discern (pay your damn electric bill and turn on a few lights), but looked like a nice Marzen, perhaps. Food Coop did not have the Bourbon County on the shelves as of Tuesday early afternoon(12/3). I will be back there on the 10th of December and hope they have it then. I predicted you would give the 98; i hope to try some '24 bottles soon.
