Learn to Sew Knit Fabric: Choosing Patterns
I don’t own EVERY pattern in the world, and I haven’t even tried every pattern company. If I missed your favorite, let me know in the comments!
What do you think makes a pattern “easy to sew?” This week, I’m going over (about) 20 sewing patterns for knits to explain how I try to tell if a pattern will be quick and easy to sew or a little more involved. I’ve made some and I haven’t made others. I focus quite a bit on tee-shirts, but I have some other patterns in this list, too.

Will That Foot Fit YOUR Sewing Machine?

This Old-School Sewing Trick Makes Cutting Straight Edges a Snap!
มุมมอง 999หลายเดือนก่อน
Literally, by (sometimes) snapping threads. Especially with fabrics like linen, if you don’t have a VERY straight cut edge along your fabric grain, you’ll get a bunch of weird little ends of threads sticking out, your fabric will be harder to sew, and your results won’t be quite as nice. Use this simple, old-school technique to avoid all of that! 0:00 - Intro 2:15 - Why do it this way?

I think you mean bunching of thread underneath the project? First things to try: redo your top threading, change your needle and make sure you’re holding on to those thread tails when you start the machine.

The feed dog on my 758 has a rubber component. It needed to be replaced and I had to bring the feed dog to a dealer for a proper fitting of the rubber component. Instead of wasting thread and unscrewing the bobbin ....just snip the loops off of thread sticking out of the bobbin OR/AND sometimes just pull thread sticking out, then put bobbin back in and sew. Also if the edge of bobbin plastic is "splintered" a little use a very fine grit of the nail file for acrylic nails....the white or pink file to lightly buff the edge of bobbin...they are still selling the particular bobbins on line.

In the attachment box was a "finger guard" to attach to shank and with the slow speed option it was "safe" for a kid to chain stitch as she would on a toy chain stitch machine for a kid (or just regular or deco stitching)....the Singer slant needle walking foot sold for about 20$ and there were other Singer sets of deco, alphabetic design cams sold. Even though there is a button holer on the maachine you could still also buy a slant needle buttonhole attachment.

Only the top of the line Golden Touch n sew that you are showing has option of speed. The bottom cover of all these machines look warped...but they were manufactured at another location and the covers were made slightly too big and will not fit around the front bottom edge. where the "gap" is. The new machines were sold like that.

While I have completely restored a variety of cabinets, in contrast, my 301 cabinet looks just like yours. So, I coated it with WATER-BASED POLYURETHANE. The coating was easy, no odor, sealed in the paint, and leveled out the chips. I have a smooth surface with a worn, authentic look! Love the channel! ❤👏❤

One of my teachers related a story to us, about when she was sewing at a costume shop in NYC, the stitchers would get very upset if you pinned any way but points towards the needle, along the exact stitch line. They were paid by the piece, and would flick the pins out, using a screwdriver! Any variation slowed them down.
