Hey everyone! We're off on another long distance trail, this time a lesser known one, on an island that lies just of the edge of Malta, Gozo. Hiking the Gozo Coastal trail. This 50km walk around the island sticks mainly to the coastline, usually taking around 5 days to complete, giving you plenty of time to soak in the islands history, natural beauty and those bloody gorgeous ocean views - so join us as we explore this incredible part of the Mediterranean on foot - this is day 1, where we make our way out of Mgarr along the coastal cliffs towards Xlendi, and its bloody gorgeous - I hope you enjoy, and thankyou so much for watching :)

Hello! It's such a stunning part of the world, we loved it up in Northland🥰
Love the hills and coast, what a wonderful hike
Us too, it was so beautiful😍 Wouldn't mind doing another coastal trail
loving the new format with the local information
Aww I'm so glad, thankyou so much🫶🏼
Well done. Thx for sharing. Walked it by myself last year. It's an unforgetable trail!
It really is, was such a great trail, thankyou so much for watching🫶🏼
I remember you posting about this (: I had some leave to use up so booked a last minute flight there to do this walk and it was incredible, so beautiful in the spring with all the flowers, felt super safe and had incredible weather the entire time. thank you for the inspiration!
Omg amazing!! That's so cool! Super stoked to have inspired you, it was such a beautiful trail, so surprised it's not more well known tbh, so glad you had a great time though, and thankyou so much for following along🥰🫶🏼
Amazing adventure my friend, this looks and feels amazing! 🥾🥾
Thankyou so much🫶🏼 It was such a beautiful trail!
Looking forward to your new adventure...happy travels ✌
Thankyou so much🫶🏼
My mom bought one kislux and she loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when she went out with it.
great music! We are doing the C2C in April/May 2025!
Amazing! You guys will have the best time, its such a pretty trail 🫶🏼
How cute is the dog 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Our baby😅💗
Absolutely amazing. Helpful video. Guys I recommended you visit the himalayan mountains k2 and Nangaparbat view point from one place moses peak Gilgit-Baltistan Barah Valley.add this sound in your bucket list.
Amazing, thankyou so much! We'll be sure to have a look at that, thankyou🫶🏼
Well done.
Thankyou🫶🏼
Lovely episode my friend, nicely and professionally presented!
Thankyou so much, really appreciate that🥰💗
I first walked the southern circuit in 1987.They use to maintain it back then..In 2007 it was in a shocking state.I would be lying if I said it wasnt tough.I see theres no change. But as they say at the Island.Mud is good character building stuff and as for the rain.Well you need the rain to wash the mud away. The walk through the ancient forest with moss underfoot is always a highlight and a welcome relief from the mud.Nice to hear a few Kaka as well.Mason Bay is an incredible stretch of beach too.Glad you still enjoyed it.
So sorry for the insanely slow response, but wow amazing, would have loved to have hiked the trail back then, shame they don't maintain it so much now, but like you say, it all adds to the adventure😅 And we still had a great time, its such a beautiful island, and kinda nice that it still feels so wild, thankyou so much for following along🥰🫶🏼
got some serious catching up to do watching your videos, they're great
Aww thankyou so much for following along, we really appreciate that🥰
What camera and what selfie stick did you use?
We use the Canon M50 Mark II, with a Rode Video GO mic, we don't use a selfie stick or tripod though😊 Thankyou for watching🫶🏼
Can I ask how you got from Geneva Airport to Chamonix? When and where do you book the transfer? Cheers
Of course! We got a shuttle/transfer bus with Flix, i think it was, we booked on through the travel desk at the airport, but I'm pretty sure you can prebook it online too😊
Cheers
Awesome as always guys! Now planning the TMB when we come back to the UK for a long visit.
Thankyou so much🥰 We really appreciate that! You should definitely do it!! It's such a beautiful trail!
What a brilliant trek with great photography. Some of the trail looked sketchy in places! Thanks for letting us come along.
Thankyou so much, there were definitely some dodgy bits😅 Thankyou for following along, we really appreciate it💖
Stunning views of Mont Blanc! Crazy beautiful 🤩
It was so amazing! Such a beautiful part of the world😍 Thankyou so much for watching💖
Well done Shelby and Jordan! Great set of videos. Loved watching each instalment. Gives us great food for thought. We are four 60+ yr olds from Wigan. We will be off doing TMB in 19th July this year. Training hard and looking forward immensely. Thanks for posting. BTW, where do you come from you sound…. Preston or Bolton? Can’t be far from us🤣 Take car and thanks again
Thankyou so much for following along, we really appreciate it🥰 That's amazing, you guys will all have the BEST time, we loved it! And we're about 15mins out of Blackburn, so not far at all😅
Tramping in jandals not. Good idea
From what I remember, we only ever used them for river crossings, so our boots didn't get wet through for the remainder of the day😊
Wow, what a sunrise with that flock of Kea. Don't think I've ever seen so many of them together.
We've never experienced anything like it, so grateful for the experience, it was incredible😍 Thankyou for your comment!
I’m curious about the shift from boots to trail runners. What prompted the shift?
Sorry for the slow reply, I think when we started trail we were SUPERRRRRRR unprepared, so ended up buying boots as that's what we were used, but after meeting so many people in trail runners on the trail, it seemed so much more practical and generally easier and comfy, so when we started the South Island, it felt like the best time to make the switch, especially with there being a ton of river crossings in the south, so we could get our trail runners wet, and know that they would dry out super quick😊 Tbh trail runners are the only thing we tend to hike in these days, hope this kinda answers your question, thankyou so much for watching💖
Just got back from South Island. I did Isthmus Peak on March 17. I too wanted to avoid the crowds, and it was fantastic! There were 6 of us at the top. Weather was sunny and 13 degrees Celsius. Thanks for your video. It was spot on!
Amazing, hope you had a great time in the South! Istmus was such a beautiful trail, one of our favourites tbh😍 So glad you got the weather for it too! Thankyou for your comment, we really appreciate it💖
How about a gear update at the end - it’s been a while since the TA
Agreed 100%, it's been agessssss, and I'd say pretty much all of our gear has changed since then👀 Thankyou for the suggestion, will definitely make a start on that for the next videos😊
I hope you guys are planning to do one of the big 3 US trails one day - maybe the PCT ?
They are definitely on the list, PCT especially would be a dreeeeeam😍 Currently in the process of bringing Jordan round to the idea😅
Loving the shot of Jordans hairy legs and arse, beautiful mate 😂
Getting all the angles😂😂
Oh yes; a contentious hygiene issue I can really get my teeth stuck into (the issue that is.....not the pee!). I'm male and feel that men actually get some leniency over females when it comes to relieving oneself in nature. Strange, considering its a far easier exercise for us rather than women. Having said that though piddling in the middle of the track is bizarre in the extreme and leaving toilet paper (or any kind of paper) is even worse. Nice vid too btw.
Yes, that's very true! Thankyou so much for watching, and following along, we really appreciate it🥰
@@ShelbyandJordan Thats quite all right. I came across your channel when looking into the local Te Araroa trail and found it one of the better ones due a lot to the camaraderie that your group had. I'm from the North and it's made me want to do at least the South Island part though I'm not too keen on all those muddy hills near the end haha
Aww thankyou so much, the first few videos weren't the best😅 But glad you enjoyed them! It's so worth doing the trail, we LOVED the South Island, it was so stunning, was definitely muddy through the forests though😂
My partner and I are considering the WHW your videos are inspiring
Aww thankyou so much! You should definitely do it👏🏼 Such a beautiful trail💖
Better start planning it now then Your videos will be our inspiration
Great videos thanks
Thankyou so much for watching💖
Heiii🤗 I'm just doing some of my last researches befor hikung this trail this summer. Do you remember the name of the valley, where you pitched your tent?
Heyy🥰 So the place we pitched on the first night, was in the valley between Dent and Blakely Raise, just before you get to Ennerdale Bridge, and the camp on the second night was on the alternative 'high route' up towards Red Pike, and we camped in the dip, just before climbing up to Haystacks😊 Hope this helps, you'll have such an amazing time!!
Fun video
Thankyou🥰
What were the dates of your trek?
10th July - 20th July 2023😊
Super folks, appreciated, trek safe 👍
No worries, thankyou so much for following along💖
Following your documentary on your Tour du Mont Blanc adventure. I have one question: since your backpacks are quite big (I would guess 50L), did you have to check them? How was your experience with that?
Thankyou so much for following along, and sorry for the slow reply! Both our bags were 45L, but we actually only ended up checking 1 bag in, so we could take trekking poles, and pegs, etc, and just risked it with the other, which luckily worked out fine, we just packed the bulky stuff in the checked one, so the hand luggage looked smaller, but honestly I think you'd get away with it anyway, obviously just depending on the airline😊
@@ShelbyandJordan Thank for your reply! I'me really surprised you got away with taking a 45L as carry on luggage 😃 I'm taking a 34L Osprey Stratos so I guess I will try my luck as well. Happy trails to you both!
Honestly we were too! We're about to try our luck again this weekend, for both of us this time though!🤞🏼 Guess it depends on the airline, just wear it low on your back so it hides it abit lol😅 I'm sure you'll be good with a 34L though, happy hiking🥰
@@ShelbyandJordan Thanks! Lowering the pack is really a top tip! 😉 Hoping to watch your next adventures.
I LOVE this episode! 😍🌿🙆🏻♀️ I've been enjoying many of your videos, especially on TA. As an Kiwi Nana Tramper I enjoy your views of our stunning back yard. 😁 I also very much appreciate your upbeat positive attitude, it's gorgeous. ❤️ I'm beginning TA mid October this year, just as I turn 67. I'm so looking forward to it!
Thankyou so much, we really really appreciate that🥰 And omg that's amazing! You're going to have the BEST time, seems like ages since we did the TA now, but I would absolutely love to do it all over again, there's definitely no place like Aotearoa💖
Hi! Should we expect more videos. Really wish to see the rest of your trip.
So sorry for the delay, there are definitely more videos coming, hopefully weekly from next weekend🤞🏼 Thankyou so so much for following along, we really appreciate it🥰💖
Was it just me, or were the cow bells really loud? Fantastic atmospheric views at the kern with the cloud cover and peaks, did you take any still images? Thanks for recording and sharing your trips this year, will look forward to seeing more of your adventures next year.
Found your Instagram feed for some still images.
So sorry for the slow reply!! But yes the cow bells were RIDICULOUSLY loud😳 Especially through the night😅 It was a really beautiful trail though, tried to take some stills, but usually just ends up being quick pictures on my phone! Would love to get more into photography this year though🤞🏼 Thankyou so much for watching, and following along our adventures, we really appreciate it🥰💖
I'm planning on doing the Tararua section of the TA soon so cheers for the info and good vid. Not sure about all the FACE FINGERING two minutes into the video though!
Nothing wrong with being authentic humans on a tough tramp. 😅🙆🏻♀️👍🏽
So sorry for the slow reply! But hahah, don't even think they realised they were doing it😂 So I HAD to catch it on video😅 You'll have a great time in the Tararua's, bit of a slog at times, but so worth it! Thankyou for watching🥰
100%! You definitely see the authentic sides of people on a thru😅
Finally someone that also carries an umbrella. Youre the first hiker ive seen after 20 videos with one. I couldnt imagine not having mine on that hike. Im hoping for a 2024 hike
So sorry to only just be replying to your comment! But 100%! Jordan carries his on every hike without fail now haha, and tbh its come in handy so much, rain and shine🙌🏼
😊😊 amazing video ❤❤ welcome to India
Thankyou so much🥰
Bit different trail to TA and the Richmond Range. But those views are preposterous. Those mountains look like they were drawn by a child! Too many people for me, but TA will have 6000 completions estimated for this summer. People everywhere! Get well soon, hopefully.
100%! The views were insane, but I'm with you on hiking with so many people, can't believe there's 6000 completions estimated for the TA this year, that's crazy! Hoping to do some more lesser known trails in 2024, but would love to do another thru! Thankyou so much for watching💖
That was a good climb after a night of poor sleep / rest !
It sure was😅 The views definitely helped us though, haha
Epic adventure. Season has changed since then. Best wishes.
Thankyou so much for watching💖 I imagine the season has changed a lot since then, there'd be a lot of snow up there😅
How'd you guys find those old roman roads? Pretty tough on the feet eh. I did the West Highland Way back in November of 2017. Only one other person on trail, all amenities closed for the season. Alot of rain. But had the best time!
Sorry for the slow reply! But they definitely are yeah, so pretty though😍 And no way! That's crazy, good on you for doing it in November, must have been epic not having a ton of people on the trail! Thankyou so much for watching 💖
Very nice video
Thankyou so much🥰
TA doco would be epic! If you guys are looking for some thru hikes closer to home, back in 2017 I did the Pennine Way in October (Kiwi living in UK for couple of years). October was pretty rough for hiking, but I wanted a challenge. The Camino de Santiago in Spain might interest you guys, also. Bit of an everything trail, passing through wilderness, villages, cities, immersing the hiker in Spanish culture and history. Keep the videos coming. Loving your content.
Yes! The Pennine Way would be epic, might be on the list for next year👏🏼 The Camino too, would love to do it one day for sure! Thankyou so much for you're recommendations, and your lovely comment🥰 We really appreciate it!
When was this filmed? I hiked the TMB in mid August. Wondering if we may have crossed paths!
We started the trail on 10th July, so you'd have only been a month behind, how was your trip? Must have been hot in August!
Nice video! One sub closer to 1000 :)
Thankyou so much🥰 Subbed you back💖
@@ShelbyandJordan thank you!
