I love ur breaking down explanations I wonder wat humans look like in ur world of “Artherome”
Nice. Very nice. Lets see Paul Allens vampire.
Why do people keep bringing up “bloodborne” as if they created a skin dangling beast? Ur designs r unique and very interesting u don’t have 2 explain urself 2 those that insult or shame ur work . “Those that shame hard work r those that can’t do it themselves, keep being awesome and most importantly keep being urself no matter who judges. These designs r outta this world.
i love the more colourful designs in this episode.
It looks like a Darkest Dungeon Boss
I would love to see some of the more physical beast like spirited bears dragons or giant lions
As an artist, I enjoy learning from your process of designing those creatures and listening to the lore at the same time makes it even more fun. Thank you.
Real awesome videos i love the writing and the art is amazingly done. Keep the good work, i would love to a map of the world that you are creating.❤ i hope you make it soon❤
I wonder if somewhere a wraith manifests because some person was never able to see something they wished to see, like a shooting star or some other natural wonder.
You didn't do the lesser vampires any favours, sheesh, poor lil guys
These are so funky man, such fascinating beasts you design.
Thank you!
These designs are so unique and meaningful I'm going to start putting subtle design cues into my creature designs!! Super inspiring art and storytelling!!
i really love your design of the ASWANG, i can really see this creatures in a fantasy or DnD.
I’ve been using these creatures in dnd for quite a while now, which makes drawing them and having a visual representation more rewarding.
Design a Jabberwocky
I LOVE THIS SERIESS I ACTUALLY KICK MY FEET WHEN I SEE YOUR VID ON MY HOME PAGE
I feel like the Aswang flayer looks less powerful that the the dread vampire and i Wonder if it's intentionnal. You nailed making the aswang look disgraced compared to the more dignified dread vampire but it contributes in making it seem less intimidating to me. Maybe what's more dangerous about the aswang flayer is that it's directed by ill intent people. All in all i absolutly love your designs. Keep up the good work !
I love the thematic twisting in design and purpose. And how even the purest of intentions can be mutilated into something foul, by the Wicked and Cruel.
My favourite design so far, together with their “calmer” counterparts! Especially the characters: the vandal looks like a malicious pest, definitely feeling the weasel vibe, while the wrecker look more rough than outright vile, albeit definitely destructive
Hey, probable had been asked to do it already, but maybe try to make the Mothman as an Ethereal spirit?
I just really want to see more bug-like monster/creatures/characters
Could you make a video dedicated to the first causes? From what I’ve gathered is that they are seen as gods but until now you’ve only referenced them in passing
Great concept. It's honestly inspiring. As usual I will tell you about one of the worlds I am building. In one of these worlds, the gods play a game. They attempt to gain the utmost influence and control over this world. There are no rules in how to obtain this control....except for those arbitrarily set by the gods that have lasted this long. There is one nation that is considerably older than the rest. Their gods even older. It is said they used to be part of a larger pantheon. Now they are but a triad. They each represent a singular concept that covers all the aspects of their domain. Power. Order. Death.
Although not what I want from MY vampires...I absolutely love these and would love to see these become stays of fantasy and horror.
These are so oddly beautiful! I love all the lore and worldbuilding its fantastic!
PHILIPPINES MENTIONED YEAHHH 🗣🗣🗣🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🔥🔥🔥🇵🇭🔥🔥🇵🇭🔥🇵🇭🔥🇵🇭🔥🇵🇭🔥🇵🇭🔥🔥🇵🇭🔥🔥🔥🇵🇭🇵🇭🔥🔥🇵🇭🇵🇭🔥🔥🇵🇭
this is one of my favorite videos of all time period. I wish I had friends who had similar interests to me and the patience to explain their inner worlds in depth to me like this. I could listen for hours and hours
question do boggarts become brownies again after calming down and continue its search or do boggarts disappear after a while? as for future ideas for a wrecker boggarts appearance/proportions how about something closer to a badger and mole hybrid? badgers are mean critters while also being somewhat comical.
The music gives me kenshi vibes.
Jeez that's tragic 😢
it's likely just my thirst for justice but will there ever be a spirit that is made in response to humans screwing with spirits? like cultists making aswang armies or even just a REALLY petty common man constantly harassing brownies, boggarts, and tooth faries? or is that the job of higher, god like entities?
There are things that help in that sense, protecting some spirits from harm however generally speaking no. Ethereal spirits have means of protecting themselves and it’s one of the unfortunate realities of spirits is that as time has gone on, the ways in which they work are being understood and exploited. The hunters guild does try to protect them but it’s a difficult balance.
These videos are incredible! I do a little world building but recently it has been less and less compelling, but then this video series started and its reinvigorated the brain juices and im very thankful, your awesome and im so excited to see what creatures you cover! Im so excited to see your lindwyrms as spirits- that sounds so facinating.
Thank you for the lovely comment😊 I’m much the same where I have to engross myself in other peoples stories to get the right headspace for world-building so I’m glad I could do that for you😊
HOY!!! PHILIPPINES!!! PHILIPPINES!!!
But the loved fictional story
I didn't see one but heard the popping of bones but did not see one? Kosciuszko national Park 1994
Very big tall huge dogman
Another great one I love the coherent art design of the creatures and the worldbuilding around them stuns me and immerses me even more into your world. Thank you again!
Thank you, I’m glad your enjoying the series 😊
3:18 Tbf, we DO need more non-bat inspired vamps. Not only bats qualify as bloodsuckers after all! You choosing a leach as the guideline for your designs is such a good call! Leeches are rather horrifying irl already, but amping up their specificities. I made some designs based on piranha and mosquitos, however my top fav remain these two mainstream tropes 2:15 and, especially, a middle ground between the two which I'm still working because bats are so adorable hehe <3
I'd love to see your take on nature spirits, especially nymphs, as there is a type of nymph for basically everything. Dryads for trees (oak trees to be specific) alongside several other kinds of tree nymphs, naiads for springs and fresh water, nereids for the sea, oreads for mountains and caves, hyades for rain, leimoneads for meadows, and several more. They are basically embodiments of nature (and its beauty). From that, I could see them as something of an opposite, or partners, if the circumstances call for it, to your werewolves. Where werewolves manifest as a reaction to the introduction of an invasive species or overhunting (and I think you mentioned, that they can also manifest due to destruction of habitats, like burning down forests), so mostly due to circumstances of fauna, nyphs (or maybe nature spirits in general) could appear on the floral side of nature, as caretakers of their respective habitats (dryads for trees, naiads for bodies of water, etc.), preserving its beauty, or, similar to werewolves, as response to the (wanton) destruction of nature, excessive cutting of wood, introduction of invasive plant species, pollution of their respective habitats, use of monocultures (I can't remember nor find the term, but I mean destruction due to monoculture, like only planting one kind of crops the entire time, which destroys the soil, and such), excessive mining, etc.
You could even possibly have such spirits turn into werewolves, bringing back that aspect. Like, for example, a forest under the care of a dryad, and due to the forests destruction the dryad turns into a werewolf. Maybe such nature spirits look down at werewolves with hatered, but also pity and sadness, as they manifest in response to nature being harmed, in a way symbolizing natures wrath. Maybe, if the idea about transformation is used, they see werewolves as fallen, corrupted kin. Or maybe the can be seen alongside werewolves, with the werewolves being a response to harm done to or by animals, while nymphs/nature spirits being a response to harm done to the land. Or, I just had a thought about the "corruption": If you'd use the idea of a spirit turning into another kind due to influence, there could be different versions. Like, for example, a nature spirit of the _land,_ such as, for example, a dryad or leimonead, could turn into a werewolf due to the destruction of the habitat they represent/take care of. Nature spirits of the _water,_ like naiads or nereids, could then turn into malevolent water spirits, like a nuckelavee (was the first I could think of), while nature spirits of the air or underground, could then turn into other appropriate malevolent spirits of the respective element.
Do spirits fight other spirits in this world? I think an ancient Bale Werewolf like Sothnokk, and an Aswang Flayer fighting would be a helluva sight to behold
It really depends. Most normal spirits have a task they must complete and so theyd likely be too busy to fight one another or just not see the value. They aren’t self serving creatures but functions of the world, so it’d be like two apps on your phone trying to delete one another. That said, corrupted spirits whose function has been diverted by some greater will have certainly been used to fight, so the idea of a werewolf fighting an Aswang is very plausible.
@@Woolydroidart I love the way you described how Spirits usually function xD. I understand under normal circumstances the two would never meet, and that the werewolf would never normally attack an Aswang. Maybe someone out there, in an area not heavily enforced by the Hunter's Guild, someone's using an Aswang as a personal guard had a chance run-in with a werewolf.
Can you please and thank you do a arctic Gojira
I really want to see your take on Slenderman. Maybe make his “suit” blackened skin, while the white portions is where the new form emerged from. Just something lovecraftian-like.
I think the Flayer Aswag is really cool. The teeth and mosquito-like helmet excellently show its connection to the vampire while also feeling unique. Speaking of monsters that feed off humans, are you going to adapt the Succubus into your world? I think it would be really cool to see your take on the creature.
Thank you and yes, Succubi are on the list. They’re actually some of the first spirits I establish as existing in my writing and I’ll say ahead of time that they are quite different 😊
@ Oh cool! That’s good to know.
Okay whatever, another high fantasy AI generated-like (original) stuff. This thing is clunky and weak, it's not intimidating, it's not a vampire. Being this huge it feends on what, elephants? It can't hold weapons so if it want to attack anybody it must do so with either head exposing his you know head and neck, or arms exposing his weak wings. It will get injured every time it attacks an armed human, and if there are more than one it had simply no chance.
great stuff!!
Happy that you gave more facts about the hunters guild! Love all the new content you keep making!
The Hunters Guild lore is slowly bleeding in.
Was not expecting to fire up TH-cam to be greeted with ‘I designed an Ass-wang’.
I can feel a great self pity coming from these creatures, so warped are they of form and intent, yet it is not entirely clear whether they remember what they were before. Reduced from a being great an dragon like, majestic without arrogance. Twisted. Not quite bird, Bug, or bat, craning near and lithely leaning in a shadow. And I feel a sense of vengeance inside, like the original dread vampire is still shifting about inside its own ethereal skin, it's purpose still there, looking for the prime opportunity to break the form it has been twisted into for a chance no matter how slim, at completing the task for which it was brought into being. Hungry for a return to form, no matter how meager. To change the intent and purity of a things purpose is difficult even for gods, and so even gods would do well to be wary when attempting such endeavors.
Having vampires and Aswang Manananggal , kind of have to wonder how your interpretation of other vampiric entities would go like the jiāngshī or Chinese hopping vampire. depending on the specific itteration succubi and incubi are vampiric, especially in older tales. Strzyga, might know this one from the Witcher series, is a slavic vampire esque monster. derived in part or in whole from the Greco-Roman Strix wich is an owl like entity that transforms to feed on flesh and blood, also apparently refers to witches in some parts.
Will you do a video about the hunter’s guild? I’m really curious about them, they kind of sound like witchers
I plan to do a full video dedicated to the guild after I’ve covered each of the major types of ethereal spirit. The guild is quite similair to witchers, though they are considerably more bureaucratic, with strong ties to major political systems across the setting. They’re also generally trusted by the world whereas witchers are seen as monsters.
I really love this world and how the magic shape the creatures that inhabit it. I loved the design of the aswangs, they are terrifyong yet mysterious, an otherworldy danger, but atached to mortal masters. I have a question, tho. I have notice in all of your videos you always present two variants of the same spirit, is there a reason that they are always two and only two of each one?
Fantastic question. The main reason I illustrate two creatures is to show the internal variation. Most types of spirits are very multifaceted so there are typically more than two for each creature, however for the purposes of a video format illustrating two helps illustrate the range in their function.
@Woolydroidart I see. Thanks for answering.
I'd never heard of this creature before! A really interesting one, and I really like your interpretation and design. I love how otherworldly the flayer aswang looks - my favourite detail are the sickle weapons its holding and the long mask. I'm curious to know - are there more cases of spirits getting corrupted/changed by other forces? Like how the boggarts are transformed brownies or here aswangs are corrupted vampires? Is it a common occurrence in the world? In terms of other creatures I'd love to see your interpretation of dragons/wyverns/dragon like creatures if they exist in the world!
