I love how you integrated Leeches into your vampire design but that makes me wonder if there are any other vampires with features of maybe ticks, mosquitoes etc..
So this is something I hope to explore with specific vampire characters. A lot of them tend to wear those strange head pieces, and while all vampires have a leach-like face, they could be adorned with a mask that mimics the head of a mosquito or bat.
Very Impressive! It looks like our channel's have recent uploads are in the same wheel-house, instead of vampires however, mine is fairies. I love the creative redesign with this one. Here's to seeing your channel get picked up by the algorithm fast!
Hell yeah! Loved the video! The score was cool and mysterious, dialogue was clear and high quality and the sound levels were very good! The illustrations are immaculate and the style is very appealing! The lore was intriguing and I’m very keen to see more from you! Great work!
I really like this design for a creature, very interesting, very unique, but in my opinion, it misses the mark on fulfilling the role of a vampire. Because, fundamentally, the figure of the vampire has an aspect you never mentioned that I believe is CRUCIAL. The vampire is an aristocrat. It is a being of vast wealth and luxury, posh and polite, in all manners charming to high society, and the monster is hiding behind this facade. Vampires, thematically speaking, are meant to evoke the corruption of people of wealth or power, with of course the act of sucking blood out of humans, quite literally "leeching" off of them being a pretty on the nose metaphor for exploitation. The Vampire is the tyrant that commands its soldiers to go die en masse so he can grow his turf, the vampire is the feudal Lord taking the vast majority of his serf’s harvests for himself letting them starve, the vampire is the industry baron making his employees work 16h days for a miserable salary. But here, your vampires are more akin to supernatural judges, helping those in difficulties and punishing sinners. Which is super dope in itself, it’s just very far from the idea of a vampire.
I totally agree. Tbh that is something I wish I had discussed in more detail, as its a sentiment I share when I look at Vampires as an archetype. With these designs I wanted them to vaguely play into the idea of a vampire without necessarily embodying them. Thats why the condemned people that dread vampires punish through a series of curses end up becoming akin to a traditional vampire. Victims of a dread vampire become bloodthirsty and eternally hungry as well as demented, drained of colour and kindness, however unlike a traditional vampire, this doesnt empower them but is a punishment that will destroy them. Thank you for your comment, I think when I come around to drawing Shera, I will mention this area of their design.
@@Woolydroidart no worries, keep up the great work! I really do love your vampires, and I can’t wait to see what else you’ve created in this world of yours

I really like the redesign and the theming, though I feel that the spirits are a bit too selective. The servants escape into better lives, the cursed nobles are too weak to be a threat, etc. If they're a force of nature, I feel like they'd be a lot more threatening if they weren't so discerning in their targets. If a Vampire appears in this world, then the best thing is to let it do its thing, since it's very powerful and objectively good, and the person it is tormenting is 100% deserving- feels like a lot of narratives about saving a village from the curse afflicting a single desperate man hiding among the innocent are being negated by their accuracy.
So that’s the thing. Ethereal spirits can be capable of pretty high intelligence, but they are also single minded, they live to complete their task. In the case of the dread vampire, it is very specific in who it targets, but it is totally single-minded in destroying that target which can come at the expense of others. Servants finding work elsewhere isn’t necessarily the vampire helping them, but rather the vampire finding a way to invalidate its target and make them feel weak. Not to mention, if a dread vampire succeeds in its task, it can depose a stable ruler in times of strife or war.
another thing that i think could be a cool or intresting thing about the Greater Vampirses is that they could maybe turn the victims that they hunt into lessers due to vampires commonly turning others into them it could also be used as a explaination for recompense
So I feel that this is something I need to convey more clearly as they kind of do. When a dread vampire curses a household, they slowly transform the condemned into something closer to a traditional vampire, complete with cannabalistic tendencies. The difference is that they have all the weaknesses of a traditional vampire but none of the strengths, as their condition is meant to be a curse.

The difference is that they have all the weaknesses of a traditional vampire but none of the strengths, as their condition is meant to be a curse.
@@Woolydroidart i mean the lesser as a almost punishment for their greed and such maybe as the idea of their penance so they have to help others whilst being a monsterous looking figure for being selfish when they still had the look of a normal human and not doing so
The art style is cool, it reminds me of the Terraria Calamity Mod concept art.
Why did they evolve to have such a specifically helpful skill for OTHER creatures?
They didn’t evolve, the vampires of this setting are spirits that manifest to fulfill a specific role. They’re appearance is not influenced by the needs to adapt or survive as they form fully ready for their task.
@@Woolydroidart ah sorry, I mustn’t have been paying enough attention haha. So do they manifest because they’re created intentionally by some being or do they naturally occur in the world. Sorry if you mentioned it in the video I just forgot lol
@@gamerpolice8235 Nah not to worry, its one of those things thats kept kinda vague. Its assumed that their is some anthpromorphised force out there in the world that insights their manifestation, or at least set out the rules that make them occur.
It's just a little guy☺️

Cool design
When you say your secondary world are you saying this is your second world building project? If so what’s the first project?
To clarify, I mean secondary world as a world seperate from ours😊 atm, this is the only setting I have put any time into.
I'm glad this got reccommended to me, excited to see how the world develops!
