About 5 kilometers separate Dunhinda Falls from Badulla town in Sri Lanka's lower central hills. The waterfalls are said to be among the most exquisite in the nation.

The smoky dew drop spray that envelops the area at the base of the 64-meter (210-foot) waterfall is what gives it its name. In Sinhala, dun means mist or smoke. Because of the resemblance of the falling water like a bridal gown, it is sometimes referred to as bridal fall. There are a few tales and legends connected to the collapse as well. The Badulu Oya, which flows through Badulla, is what causes the fall.
