Odonga when are U going back to Spain bro??
18:32 " ...even Americans that are the architects and founders of capitalism...." that is partially inaccurate and misleading. Capitalism as an economic system is built on ideas from European thinkers, and its rise can be traced back to early modern Europe, not just the U.S. The US is a key player in capitalism, not necessarily its founder.
At 18:32 you said Uganda and Ethiopia have "taken the extreme form of capitalism". No, that is factually inaccurate. A country like Ghana is even more free market than those two countries. If anything, those two countries are closer to mixed economies with elements of state intervention rather than "extreme capitalism."
I respectfully disagree with some of your opinions. We both agree that SAPs from the IMF have harmed Africans, but we disagree on the reason. Before any reader starts insulting me as a "bootlicker for the white man," they should consider these two facts: 1. The Cold War was an ideological war between two majority white countries. In fact, the Soviet Union was even whiter than the U.S. So I don’t get the "bootlicker" accusation. 2. I recommend that the reader read Indigenous African Institutions by Professor George Ayittey. The book discusses the economic systems of precolonial Africa. They’ll see that we were free-market capitalists before the colonizers set foot here. Now that we’ve addressed that ad hominem, let’s talk about why I disagree. 1. The main lesson of the Cold War is that a command economy eventually leads to economic collapse. America didn’t "win" because it was a capitalist country, but because it was less centrally planned than the USSR. The Soviet Union’s rigid economic structure was unsustainable, while the U.S. allowed market forces to function more freely. However, U.S. victory wasn’t just about economics-it also came down to military spending, strategic alliances, and technological innovation. 2. At 2:56, you said the West came to Africa to change our economic system from a centrally planned economy to a capitalist one. What you left out is that Africa wasn’t the only place they pushed for this change. They also did it in Singapore and Hong Kong-both of which are now thriving. You speak as if socialism is the innate economic system of Africa. It is not. Precolonial Africa had diverse economic models, and many regions were highly market-oriented before colonial rule imposed command-style economies. Modern Africa was very young at that time, and many leaders chose socialist policies-often influenced by the Cold War. 3. We are part of a global economy. No one forces African countries to take loans from the IMF. However, corrupt African leaders make it easy for external forces to exploit us. If our governments were fiscally responsible, the IMF and other foreign entities wouldn’t have the same leverage over our economies. The real reason we are now debt slaves to the IMF and extremely financially impoverished has little to do with the IMF itself and everything to do with the fiscal irresponsibility of African leaders. The IMF doesn’t force anyone to borrow-it simply offers loans, and corrupt leaders eagerly take them, mismanage the funds, and drive their nations deeper into dependency. Japan is highly indebted, but unlike us, at least they use those debts to develop their country. In contrast, many African leaders squander borrowed money on personal luxuries, bribes, or wasteful projects, leaving the people with nothing but debt. We can blame white people until the moon disappears, but if we don’t change our "daddy government" mentality and demand fiscal responsibility, we’ll remain poor. The key to breaking free is taking personal and national responsibility. That being said, it’s true that some wicked Europeans find ways to exploit Africans-that is 100% true. But how do they get the opportunity to do so? Through our irresponsible leaders (or, shall I say the leaders that pay no price for their irresponsibilities) who willingly sell out their own people. The remedy is simple. ✅Hold your leaders accountable. ✅Don't take bribes to vote for them and they will also not collect bribes from Europeans to exploit you. ✅They'll be forced to work for you.
Dr Otto . Your presentation while talking about the effect of SAPs just touches on the effects of SAP it misses the fundamental underlying issues . The fundamental issues revolve around the structure of bretton woods instituions and the evolving philosohies of those contries that have unfetted voting rights i.e USA . during the cold war i.e after WWII to the 80s the philosophy was inteventionist and control development of public goods and resource allocation after the cold war in the 90s the hegemony led by the USA was led by the " washington consensus" and it is that philosophy that drove the SAPs programs . Joseph stiglitz goes into this in his book . Globalization and its discontent .. your presentation misses some funadmentals that then do not give the whole picture and underlying issues

The call for the Balalo to leave Acholiland resonates deeply with a community striving to rebuild after decades of war. Exploiting the vulnerabilities of a recovering people is both unjust and a betrayal of shared humanity. Acholi land, rich in history and culture, must be safeguarded for its rightful inhabitants to reclaim their dignity and foster development. Outsiders who come in should aim to support and respect local livelihoods, not exploit them. Additionally, President Museveni must stop killing and oppressing the Acholi people. They deserve the chance to heal, prosper, and rebuild without external interference or state-driven oppression...
But in Kenya there would be no demonstration like recent on GENZs. It's no change like Switch. Quote by KENETH KAUNDA: THE POWER WHICH ESTABLISHES A STATE IS violence; THE POWER WHICH WHICH MENTAINS IT IS violence; AND THE POWER WHICH EVENTUALLY OVER THROW IT IS violence. So keep struggling
As Baganda we needvto start readoning beyond our 'ganda' nationalism, some people dont want a federal system just as some people wont accept christianity as the only true faith.
I like Otto and his calling 'a spade a spade'.Ugandans need to start a dialogue and show thelr love for the country Churchill Winston named the Pearl of Africa.
Odong otolaryngology you are the government , I hope you are doing something for the youth. Our youth have become thieves, drugs addiction & so on. I hope you are doing something to deter them away from the street. Thanks for the message otherwise 😊
Thank God I landed on such info ….
he was far better than museveni
TRUTH IS the source is at Jinja, ask any site guide to take you to the source - u will be able to touch jets of water emerging from the bottom - nevertheless its true the Basoga on the east of the river Kiyira and the Baganda of the Njaza clan on the west had already discovered the source - if you spend more time at the source you will realize that lake Nalubaale waters dont mix with Kiyira waters. visit the site

It good Hon Dr. Odonga Otto we appreciate the efforts you are making for the benefit of Ugandans
The great leader who stand on the truth is Dr. Odonga otto
Dr. Odonga Otto. you are a great leader in Acholi. Great philosopher, analytical and you are a true human resource for presidency comes 2026
Amazing and factual insights Hon. Odonga. I wish to link up with you
😅😅😅😅😅😅 Kenya again Kenya seems like we're running 🏃♀️ out of data
100% Otto come to the ballot, I can mobilize a minimum of 200 friends in my small capacity. right now there's no serious candidate, bobiwine to my opinion is a youth but not president material, imagine amuriat, katumba. muhoozi. no future. ofkoz many will think others basing on their small brains. I'm not acholi but I know wat is right. 4 God & my country
Then why are you in Europe? Do you have a solution for the thousands of Africans who have no job and income in their own countries?
It is high time African leaders wake up
Western UG isn't as well off as y'all think, only the elites are. Look at all those impoverished workers in Kampala markets, shipping centers and bus parks. Your video is interesting though, the population numbers grew up unbelievably fast.
A common man can not understand the Hon Mpuuga got the money geniunely
Thank you my giant I will never leave you for any opportunities you will have. Government hospital are very few and with no drugs and very few health workers who are also very engaged in their private health unit, the same with government schools with average 8 teachers per primary school in Northern Uganda
Otto government is too poor to provide the same quality education private sector would do. I've noticed you're ideologically still in the Obote era. I actually rather vote NRM than you. You need to in Ham kiggundus voice look at the realities on ground
But Otto if rich countries can't afford health how about a 3rd world country taking care of 50m peoples health
TO THOSE READING THIS YOU WILL NEVER HAVE PEACE AS LONG AS WE STILL HAVE A REFUGEE REGIME IN POWER, THE STITUATION WILL WORSEN AND WORSEN AND BY A TWO DECADE TIME WE WON'T HAVE INDIGENOUS TRIBES IN OUR MOTHERLAND
What's happening in Uganda is not corruption but direct theft protected by the establishment controlled by the chosen few who believe that Uganda is their own loot.
But which government arevyou refering too???....a roting fish starts from the head....look at Uganda railways cooperation first, how far is it when controlled by the state?, how many Ugandas government institutions are moving smoothly?, have a look at our Uganda Parliament...Uganda deserve a better patriotic and a Ugandan president by heart....Uganda first then others can follow. For God and my country.
This someone how sounds like Amin's rule. I don't think private institutions are the cause of corruption. They are taking advantage of poor services offered at public Government institutions. Government plan poorly and manage poorly. That's the problem
Thanks Dr you are spot on
Corruption should be made so risky that whoever attempts the vice, they would be losing doubly.
I agree with you Dr on your analysis. It’s spot on.
I agree with you 100% but number three should be bribery by the police, how a criminal can use money to escape justice should carry a heavy fines
Better analysis
There we go Dr ❤❤❤❤❤
Brilliant idea
Dr. Odonga your intellects I respects .
Apoyo coo ni omera madit
As far as I know dictator Museveni is the worst president to ever lead Uganda Idd Amin remains the best president Uganda has ever had I would support all programs in honour of the true son of Uganda M7 is very bad very very bad

your very correct 100%.
You don't talk about the bad parts do ladit
No and it must be No
IMF is just an international brench of the corrupt and evil monetary system. His job is just to expand the victims. As today Italy, my country, has nearly 3.000 billion f dollars and we can't do shit about that.
