i agree with the point of pure fiction, hoyo can make that end game content so much fun with springkle buff, not just crank that anemy HP to number that completely nonsense,...
For me, it’s simply the fact that… 1. I didn’t have any characters for it 2. I wasn’t interested in the ones that were Firefly? I only knew her for less than 10 minutes, I don’t give a damn about her. (Kafka’s better waifu) Boothill? Cool character, but I hated the Hunt path

I like superbreak because the break effect is what made star rail original and standing out from other turn-based RPGs for me
Hot take:There was no break meta, it was just a Firefly meta because Boothill was dead for most of it and no other break DPS released for 5 entire patches. Rappa is less about extending the break meta and more about an aoe meta in general.

I kinda of agree with you , but to me it's still an improvement from Penaconny... Personnal opinion : the best thing HSR have done in story , story telling , design , humor.... was and still is Belobog. From Belobog it has always been less to me , Liaofu was fine but not as good and Penaconny was only suffering to me , I didn't even explore to be honest , i played the main story and then only play to farm my characters. I had a much better Amphreus first experience than Penacony : music was better , puzzles were better, design of the place was better , story was better (but you're right hoyo's way of explaining the plot with a ton of dialogue is still lazy) but it's the case in Genshin , it's the case in HSR... I don't think it will ever change. So from a total personal experience , It was pretty good , like 6/10 when Penacony was a 3/10 to me
I downloaded the game in hope that they will make it better in 3.0 but nha its the same thing all over the place, just after doing the story for 2hr i got so bored i deleted the game after 2hr of playing the story, the story is not engaging, blackscreen,and the bigges one powercreep is on the cart and many more.
The story just started u never know i guess they will finish it to 2026 January

Story was utter trash pagan idolatry. On the other hand, the Gameplay and open world mechanics, scenery, character designs and powers were cool. Already looking forward to go to the next planet, I'm probably just going to skip most of the story for the remaining parts lol
I think the story of amphoreus is good, problem is that it beats around the bush so much Like phainon is supposed to have a complete character arc by around 3.4 (where it is rumored he will release) this whole patch gave us start of the hero's journey phainon, hopeful, happy go lucky phainon However we know that he has an inner darkness, so we know that he will have a downfall and maybe that's what sets him on the path of his expy, kevin from impact 3rd and this might happen after he fails the trial of strife, because we all know that phainon is supposed to end up with kephali's core flame And this is a great premise, it's good for a first act, as a bonus we got to finally learn a tiny bit about the MC's backstory when they worked with the stellaron hunters, plus a tease to what's happening to march, most likely tied to her true identity and if I had to guess cyrene (the other pink haired girl that got killed and is part of phainon's dark past) Problem is that even with this great concept of a story the execution is so bad, "cutscenes" that linger on a still frame for almost 5 minutes (yes I timed the infamous aglea cutscene from this patch), pointless meandering to pad out gameplay time, repeating information and more I think the worst offenders of this patch are the okhema seccions, you stay in okhema for like the first half of the update and it's walking from cutscene to cutscene with characters yapping and doing exposition for a good 3 hours or so Then you can finally go to castrum kremnos, the oronyx temple and past castrum kremnos which were nice dungeons, you get to explore, fight enemies and the cutscenes are really short, being like fun banter between phainon and mydei for example for like 1 or 2 minutes at a time, you get a lot more dialog while exploring or fighting, which disrupts the flow of the game much less and makes it more enjoyable But okhema was a snooze fest, they really need to find a way to make those seccions more interesting, make 2d portraits of the characters like persona, make better animations in the cutscenes and make cutscenes more active with characters walking or moving something less stiff, make actual animations instead of black screens (like why do we get a black screen of phainon giving dan heng his spear when the animation is as simple as using the already existing spear model, putting it in phainon's hand, extending phainon's hand to dan heng's hand and making the spear move to one hand to the other, that would already make a big difference, instead of a 10 second black screen we get a 2 second small animation SHOWING what's happening)
to be honest when we first crashed on amphoreus with dan heng i wanted to see a survival adventure lol
04:31 Basically they need to learn from WuWa on how to do dialogue sequences, where instead of the the characters standing/sitting and barely doing any movement, they actually add more to the visual elements. They can animate what's being told, instead of telling. Their animation effort is literally -10/10 right now. The entirety of animation budget goes to character's gameplay, which is the pay-based aspect. They invest VERY LESS on the f2p aspects of the game, which is it's story. It's pivotal to the experience. HSR at the moment is a pile of hot garbage, over-glorified visual novel without the good story telling bits, and a game that lost direction of game design. The new characters kinda suck, the entire Remembrance path is an over-glorified modified follow up mechanic, and their game and chars are utter garbage atm. Their endgame feels more of a wallet check than skill check. Honestly, HYV should just copy WuWa's homework atp and be totally ashamed in their inability to design a game properly. They could then prolly have better boss fights and gameplay designs. Oh and before the Hoyoshills come at me, I've played (and spent on) all HYV games (and continue to do, albeit with very very less interest now) since their respective launches, including Honkai Impact 3rd. These are just words of frustration from a player who's seen enough of Hoyotrash atp. I'm glad we have atleast one company that cares for the player's experience and interests, and keep on cooking and improving, in this gacha space. I ended up lowering expectations when I was playing Hoyo garbage, because they never were met. But now I just always have my expectations surpassed whenever Kuro drops an update.

I’m not playing a visual novel, I don’t want to play a visual novel. Billion dollar company could’ve afforded some more cutscenes. More showing, less telling through tons of text pls.
if the character and world building got cutdown you guys will be saying that Amphoreus is rushed and you didn't connect with the world, but i would agree the story telling need some improvements but that's it, I'm used to this kind of story telling from reading VN's and stuff so it's ok for me, i loved Amphoreus lore and plot and the characters are cool
VNs have better story telling, and I've played MANY VNs. Adding hours to story doesn't mean including unrelated yapfest.

You guys really think casual players have to be able to finish endgame content like slicing a piece of cake ? Meta exists for a reason, you could just choose to gacha the right characters as a f2p or just whale your way out by getting all of em, I'm sick of people trying to blame their own stupidty and lack of effort in actually thinking on mihoyo, character gameplay or the game itself
Break meta is the best in my opinion because literally every character on your team can turn into a dps, especially if you have characters like lingsa (forgor how to spell) or the supports like Ruan mei and fugue, but it can be hard to use without those supports especially characters like zueyi and rappa, who kinda suck unless they have imaginary or quantum weakness, and even firefly and boothill have a lot of problems since if you don’t have ruan mei or fugue (who I skipped 😢) you’ll get off one break and then have to spend the rest of their turns trying to break them again without getting much damage in

After thinking a good while, I decided to quit this game. Despite my 50/50 luck being good, powercreep was leaving a very bitter taste on my mouth. (I love sparkle maybe that's a bias but that is what it is)The fact that jingliu needing e6 to compete with the e0 herta is wild to me. Enemies are heavy hp sponges now,making older characters more and more obsolete.Even when you decide to screw endgame and focus on story itself, characters barely has any depth due to abundance of 5* getting released back to back and barely showing after their debut/planet, storytelling is straight up going downhill and far from enjoyable for me, lore behind 3.0 is okay but it is completely ruined by the storytelling. I like this game, but I totally do not support the way it's going. And in this current state, the game doesn't deserve my time anymore.I truly hope they develop, but it's hoyo so I doubt it.
Yeah, the new characters are a problem. My favorite part of the whole amphoreus deal was the memory with the old team. It was sweet. Im kind of exhausted of new characters constantly getting introduced and old characters just being left to rot.
For me the biggest disappointment about the story for me, is how little screen time we had with The Herta. I truly loved her and I was hoping for much much more story about The Herta. And also the fact that no voice line for Dan heng another one of my favorite character. Regardless the story telling, it fine for me but it probably cuz I just love reading in general like novel/manga. So I can’t really judge

Basically, it's dumb superbreak = Low investment, high reward crit (what we've been doing for years) = high investment, high reward a new player getting the same damage (if not more) in two months as a veteran's 18 months of investment, prompting them to throw it all away for a new character is dumb and wasteful. Is it more accessible and more beginner-friendly? yes, but I'd argue it's a little *too* easily accessible now

@koku2229 I never stated once that powercreep is a bad thing. It’s a gacha game at the end of the day so it’s inevitable, BUT the rate that it’s occurring is abnormal. HSR isn’t innovative whatsoever when it comes to chars character/kit design and enemy design is arguably ok with them just hp sponging.
i have Feixiao premium team, and Firefly premium team, and the HP on this MOC were outrageus, you just dont see the HP bar go down, and only this happened to me on floor 12, on 11, i cleared like fine like on cicle 25 or 26, but man floor 12 i tried diffent teams and just couldt clear before 18 cicles

Damage dealers will inevitably be power crept, that's the unfortunate truth of the matter. The only way older damage dealers will be more viable is if/when they introduce another layer of progression for characters. Something similar to a level cap increase w/ new traces added in.

I agree with your take but i honestly think it's both character kits and enemy design that is a problem. Like you pointed out in another comment hsr is not innovative at all compared to other gacha games. Each unit is just X unit but triple the damage(looking at yunli and clara here) and then older unit gets powercrept to death while new unit stays relevant for a little more. And this is amplified by enemy HP pools getting ridiculously high

The prob is not only a char overload kit design, but the numbers too. This should not be a problem when a generalist has a lower number compared to specialist

The question is, WHY does powercreep matter? The difference between a Floor 11 and Floor 12 clear is half a pull a month. On this basis alone, 'pulling for meta' is an exceptionally poor value proposition. So yes, you SHOULD pull your favourites. However, what you don't get to do is pull blindly, half-ass your builds, THEN complain you can't clear 'with your favourites'. "I should get maximum rewards for minimum effort" is entitlement, and a skill issue on that player's part, like it or not.
I’d agree IF builds weren’t so based on rng to begin with. Relics require limited resources to obtain and are entirely RNG based. Also, power creep matters bc when the vast majority of the game’s content is combat based, if you can’t clear it then it does matter

Yeah you have characters like Firefly who can do infinite damage with negative investment, but characters like Jingliu just cannot stack up to that level of damage

the whole thing is in poor faith because hoyoverse players at the end of the day are just a bunch of orangutans attempting to sling crap at each other. this is just a prime example of not being able to see the forest for the trees the issue with powercreep first of all its inevitable, because thats the identity of a gacha game at its core. the issue also isn't "they're putting tons of HP on a unit" the issue is there is no content for that unit to exist in. I will admit they did better than their sister game genshin with the whole idea behind "pure fiction / apocalyptic shadow". but at the end of the day that content is not enough because as long as this game exists they will release characters, but they dont match those character releases with content releases. lets take zenless zone zero deadly assault for example, a boss mode where you need THREE total teams. I dont care how many units powercreeped who, your 3RD team HAS to be somebody, so guess what? maybe its time to dust off that jingliu all of a sudden. boom, ship it and sell it and pay me 3 million dollars cause i just saved all your problems
i dont understand what your argument is. its not powercreep because its not the characters fault for being too broken, its the enemies for having inflated hp? they inflate hp to compensate for newer characters higher power ceilings. its still powercreep either way, and its get tiring if you’re not a total meta bot
@aarushi2740 for reference I’ll use Genshin Impact. Any 1.X unit including the 4’s stars can clear end-game content, HSR on the other hand isn’t possible due to terrible early game design and how the game is structured. See the issue I’m going for? Hp sponging is one thing, but the game doesn’t feel innovative (like at all) compared to other turn based gachas / gachas in general. If they designed characters/enemies a lot better, the game would have relative powercreep rather than feeling like absolute powercreep. Hopefully that clarifies the point I’m trying to make in the video

I'm planning on pulling The Herta and Silverwolf in the next two banners, no real plan on doing Rememberence in general when I don't want to pull myself in too many directions when I've got a good FF and Acheron teams already. So would you agree it'd be wise to just skip on Fugue when she really doesn't provide much for my two teams? I know she's kinda good with Acheron, but that feels really niche when I already have plenty of nihility characters to run alongside the emanator. Have been doing a good amount of grinding through content that I didn't really do (Unknowable Domain and G&G), yet would like to know I can just chill when not getting Fugue could simply mean a better chance for The Herta and just look forward. And this video has helped clear my confusions of if she's really worth it, just could appreciate a verification that I'm hearing you correct here. I don't have Rappa or Boothill, with no desire to get either of them in the future.
If you have E6 characters still can't clear end game that's a skill issue so you can't say it's because of powercreep Just pull the characters you like don't care about meta Waifu>>>> meta It's not powercreep hoyo just want to sell there new characters 😂
It is powercreep. Look at the difference between the multipliers of old characters and new ones, there is a huge gap between them. Not to mention their bad kit designs. There's little to no uniqity of the kits. Look at Seele, she doesn't do anything different from anyone other than "deal dmg". This could've been avoided if they don't copy paste an old kit design and make its multipliers higher so people buy them. Even if they don't necessarily do a lot better, if they're unique in that role, people will buy them anyway.

Powercreep is objectively speaking new units being better than old units AND THATS CLEARLY HAPPENING. The herta absolutly trumps over every other DPS in numbers and thats powercreep. The problem isnt powercreep it's the rate that it happens in.....
My head-canon of Herta being a granny made me kinda disappointed of The Herta(but thats just me) I kinda want an actual "old character" design for once but who else wants those? so i understand why game devs refuse to make one.

Aglaea she's a solid choice for people that pull Sunday but her team is too stack in order to make stays in META, unlike The Herta that she's can do a sh*t ton DMG by herself, Aglaea is heavily relies on good teamate especialy Huohuo Sunday+LC Robin, without this premium comp she's kinda mid ngl, Aglaea is deffinitly not for F2P since she's a summon unit with the highest ult cost rn, deffinitly made to pair with Sunday. It's can't avoid that she's gonna get powercrept but with her premium comp they gonna helps her stay in summon META for a while
