Great to listen again!!

Thank you Cale and Lucas for this great episode. It is a great reminder of our mortality.

So happy to still be able to listen to you, I've learned so much over many years. This was a great subject, I will be using some of this with my 10th graders in youth ministry. Is there an email to directly send questions, comments?

There were so many great insights in this episode. Somehow, based on the title, I thought there would be some visuals displayed, but the words painted a picture in their own right. I think I'll just have to get the book and read it. The one idea that stood out to me most was the comparison of churches to the temples of pagan gods. Those gods couldn't be approached. God wants us to approach Him so we can become more like Him.

The Catholic Church did not own the Shroud in 1978 when the group of scientists studied it. It was owned by King Umberto of the house of Savoy. He was deposed in 1988 and he gave the Shroud to the living Pope

The thorns -was a crown weaved by the Romans as a mockery of Christ saying he was the King. No ordinary Jewish man is crucified with a crown on their head and beaten in the manner Christ was which is identical to what appears on the Shroud. It is clearly the Event Horizon of UV radiation created by Christ during the moment of his resurrection . Amen Jesus Christ lives and is our Lord and Savior.

There are a lot of good Catholics, and surely if one knows the threat of Islam today, that he who is not against you can be an ally. Protestantism would never have happened if the church examined itself. They spent lavishly in Rome while Northern Europe did not have good roads. Peasants were not taught to read. Allowing taxes to stay in Northern Europe allowed parents to buy shoes for their children. Shoe and socks are a necessity in a cold climate. If you have a disagreement with a brother, you discuss and debate, you don’t use the rack, the Iron Maiden. Catholics wont admit how many they killed, that Hitler used his eastern front to kill Protestants. Imagine if the church was a righteous church and not one worshipping herself. Islam is on the rise and both Protestant and Catholic should examine doctrine together including that the Extreme Oath of the Jesuits is just plain dreadful.

I have a friend who is an elder in the LDS Church. We have been in dialogue for several months. He has been doing a podcast where he tries to “prove” the historicity of the Book of Mormon. I have challenged these claims on his podcast publicly with facts from the archeological community of natural science. It seems that our dialogue is now over and that he no longer wants to communicate. Before all this happened I emailed him a plethora of Catholic info and resources for his file. He seemed interested in them. Marty helped me to learn a lot more about the Mormon faith by sending me actual resources from his church. However, when it came to the public misinformation he was spreading I felt compelled to take a stand. When it occurred to him that he could not convert me, he broke off all communication. As a faithful Mormon elder this is something he had to do. After all, according to Mr. Bruce McConkie the Catholic Church is the devil’s church. 😊😊😊

Its the most studied artifact in the history of the world. It's been examined by any from nuclear physicists to botanists . And all evidence points to it being exactly what it seems to be. Once again, Cale and Lucas have had a great episode, with some great discussion about a hot-button current issue, and I appreciate this conversation. I feel that it's okay to watch the Olympics in support of the athletes while still speaking up about the blasphemous display. Yet I wouldn't criticize those who choose to boycott the Olympics. I greatly appreciated Bishop Cozzens's statement, especially in light of what I experienced at NEC. There's something that gives me pause about the night person vs. day person. I definitely struggle with my nighttime routine, and I've been having some serious conversations about it with others. I would appreciate your prayers, as I'll pray for you.

Unless you eat my body and drink my blood you shall not have everlasting life. Only place you can receive the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus is in the Roman Catholic Church!

I definitely enjoyed this episode. It was great to hear from three people who were at the National Eucharistic Congress and to hear them reflect on their experiences, since I was there, too. It's helpful to ponder how we can live in response to an awe-inspiring experience like the NEC as we go forth into the rest of our lives. I read Bishop Barron's piece, and I think being open to the supernatural is a big part of how we go forth from the NEC. I was thrilled to meet Cale in the Expo Hall, and I was glad to get a photo with him. I also briefly chatted with Bishop Hying on Friday evening. He was installed as Bishop of Gary about two years after I graduated from Valparaiso University and I met him when he came to the St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Student Center for a special Mass in 2015 in celebration of 500 years since the birth of St. Teresa. I saw Bishop Hying near St. John the Evangelist and we chatted a bit about that Mass as we walked along. He was even kind enough to pose for a selfie with me before he crossed the street and we parted ways.

I'm glad to see the Cale Clarke Show continuing, and this episode is one very good reason why. They cover so much ground with great insight, especially regarding the spiritual life. Even if (Declaration of) Independence Day isn't a religious holiday, there are spiritual overtones in it, particularly because of the words in that document. God bless the USA!
