I'm starting to really dive deep back into the A1's 8k recording and am coming to the conclusion that we either move on from our FX cameras and adopt a Venice 2/Burano, or keep the current lineup in the gear locker. Do any of you cut Sony A1 and Venice 2 files together? Do you get the results you were expecting? How do you feel about your A1's 8k files? I'll be doing more testing to see what is...

I do it on the cheap. 50R, used Fuji GF 35-70, 65mm Mitakon f/1.4, 150mm Pentax f/3.5 and a 45mm Contax f/2.8 pancake. All that for under $2500. For landscapes and portraits the lack of autofocus doesn’t bother me a bit. For general shooting the 35-70 is an awesome walk around lens, set it at f/8 with sun or f/5.6 with clouds and it’s money.
Plenty of firepower to get it done!
Nice review! Beautiful shot with the blue sky at 10:57 What aperture did you use on that dusk photo?
I have a Canon 5d mrk4 ... I want to switch for low light video and stills.... but I still don't know which to get A7iv or Fx3 because I want to do both.... suggestions please
This camera and A7 IV are the same sensor and specs. Do you need the bigger size body and do you do a lot of low light shooting? The 2nd base ISO on the FX3 is highly effective and won’t let you down if you need that many drops of extra latitude in low light scenes. The A7 IV and A7C II give you a useable image even at 6400 ISO. I had an FX6, but I didn’t really find myself using the high base ISO that often. Budget also would need to be considered. What are you thinking?
@Daniel-Sanchez problem with the fx3 is the low pixel count for stills? Stills is my primary but, I want low light video and photo as well. I shoot with good glass but I still don't know
a7iv
A7 IV will be the best all-around choice for hybrid in its price range if you’re ready to make the jump over from Canon. 7K oversampled footage and 33pm for stills is really good. If you step down to the A7C II, you’ll get the same sensor, but you get focus bracketing, AI chip and compact body. Trade off is SD only single slot and EV for the most part.
Hi, I really like 3D printers and I would really like the printer you have in the video, but I can't afford it. I live in Poland

Hi Daniel, I hope you are doing well. I wanted to know if you have any feedback regarding the Meisterschaft exhaust for pre-lp Gallardos? Also, do you happen to know anyone willing to sell their exhaust as the wait time for a new one is several months
Great system to own for sure. Used (if anyone has one) is a better route to go, unless you choose new for peace of mind. The cats you run will change it dramatically.

Hey Dan do you still shoot with a GFX 100?
I've sold the GFX100 and have blended between photo/video. Currently using the Sony A1, Sony FX6 and FX9. The new GFX100 mk II is on my list of stills to reinvest in for stills work. I had a great run with the original, so I expect nothing less from the new one!
I hate driving mine in LA
Mainly because of traffic or...? Malibu is always a short drive away if you want to open it up!
Yeah mainly traffic and bad road conditions. Malibu is nice, but theres always traffic near the exit of santa monica!@@Daniel-Sanchez
yes, I have held it to, and also the price difference!, $6,000 as compared to $60,000 approx for a phase One xf system, body and the IQ150 back, no brainer, which, esp. for enthusiasts, or 'entry' into the MF digital world. One other option this is good for, is adapted to old view cameras, Monorails, this gives use of these, plus the tilt\shift effect and the unlimited bellows draw, so great macro option; plus a cheaper way into the Schneider K. glass, LF lenses are a heck of a lot cheaper than the Phase one XF or XT lenses, also S.K.'s.
great review, but at 5:43 you have hit on the compromise with these cameras, the depth of field is Narrower here than a mirrorless\dslr, so the focus is tough, remember the Leica 50 f0.95 ? and red dot forums' review of the 75mm f1.2 esp. his recommendation that it focuses better on the Leica SL even though it is an M lens; paraphrasing here, " that the dof is so shallow that the af is easier to focus it, than doing it manually, via the Rangefinder system" so my guess here is that if you go way past f5.6 or f4 the focus system, and esp. the chips would have to be bigger, more powerful, and capable of exacting subject id, as any miss is very apparent, esp. if the lens hunts for focus, due in part to subject or camera vibration (ie if you are hand-holding this); and also therefore increasing the cost, weight, and bulk of the system, so it is easier to make the less expensive systems, hence the f4 limits; although some primes, namely the macros, do f2.8, or the Hc/Hcd lenses for Hasselblads, F2.2 (100mm & 110) these are exceptions to this phenomenon, not the mainstay practice.
S2K's are JDM classics! 👍
Thanks for the joy ride 😘
Thanks for the info my man! 😎🤙
Hi Daniel, Have you tried the Fuji gfx 100s yet?
I have not. Did you end up picking it up?
Your review was so beautiful. I feel you brother on everything you said about the Fuji GFX system. I’m in the process of getting the 50sii with the gf 45-100mm f4 and perhaps the 110mm..Can you do more videos on Fuji system please. I love the passion and energy that comes out of you spirit-it’s absolutely heart felt.
I care less about your feelings and more about the camera. So talk about the camera lol
Nice, that's awesome!
this is not the sharpest lens unfortunately. stop speaking about versability for all the lens you describle. + this lens is noisy and a bit slow compare to others. better the 45... better to show the external motor autofocus.
Okay!
Dump the anchor and get the 100S, I did
Really tempted to buy this lens. Love the 32-64, but I find I shoot that in the 40-45mm range very often anyhow.
It ends up being a clutch lens for some wide scenes
Hi Daniel, like you stumbled across your GFX system, I also stumbled across your video, I've been intrigued by your thoughts on the gfx100,I only wished that you had included some image from your obviously many shoots, I'm a Fuji shooter too,not in that league just yet but aspiring to reach that level..I did enjoy the video, where can I go to see some of the images taken with the 100gfx, and do you specialise in any particular genre of photography ? I'm living here in the carribean very similar weather to you LA, hope to get there this year later down travelling gets back to (normality)...will be searching through some other vids to see wht on offer, take care and good shooting...
I appreciate the kind words! My photos are in google drive at the moment. A page for my photography and videos is quietly being revised and will go live once I’m fully satisfied with the end result!
Ok, look, lookforward to seeing them at some time, keep up the good work...
Do anyone else's GF lenses make stepping motor sounds? My GF 23mm f/4 makes a mechanical motor sound every time I have the camera powered on and move the camera around. Whether I'm in AF or MF, it doesn't matter. It sounds almost like the old perforated printers from the early 90s that made that horrible scratching sound when it printed. I can just be holding the camera not pressing anything and it'll make this sound until I stop moving it. It's fairly noticeable and doesn't sound right to me. I get so many mixed results online forums about it being normal or not normal
The 63 does this, but on the 23?
senseless video, boring.
We try!
Trying to peep your work but can’t find you on IG or twitter!
No IG since we've been splitting time with photo lots of video work!
Congrats for this line setup. I’m leaving Leica switching to Fuji GF system. Starting with the GFX50R + 50mm for street photo and 23mm for landscape. For I will build a lens lineup within the time but now I just want to feel the image quality. See how better it is …
That 50R is great, but if you can end up with a 100, you'll really get the full true experience of that system!
@@Daniel-Sanchez yes I tested the 100S few months ago. Very powerful and impressive image quality
No. It should be the better all rounder the 50mm - equiv to the highly underrated 40mm in 35mm terms. It is a stunner - I use the GFX100 (non 's' although we have one on order for Jane - her hands are smaller) and we shoot 20-30 weddings a year - last year excepting for obvious reasons. This is the most used lens we have alongside its sisters the 30mm, 80mm, 110mm and 250 - and don't even think of going zoom unless you love blurry pics or use locked down in a studio. The beauty of the GFX is the capability to provide astonishing detail - even when significantly cropped - so give that sensor its best chance by using primes.
Agree primes are the way to go!
Whoa what did all that cost you?
Oh boy, it definitely added up, but at the time I acquired it all, I rolled all my profit from selling off my entire Sony system, including the 400mm f2.8 GM etc. This stuff adds up fast!
Been a pro for 30yrs + and have every prime they produce with the GFX100 for fashion and weddings - it is off the charts - I had a play with the GFX100s recently and ahem - I found it too small l!!!!!! - Good shout Fuji with this one. Ps the 250 as a portrait lens? Nothing on earth can prepare you for the awesomeness - nothing. it is Super telephoto expiali docious
The system is made for anyone looking for lots of headroom in post and a unique image overall. Fuji did well!
What about using third-party Lenses for the GFX 100 ?
Haven't tried any, but the sensor should more than hold up for any lens you apply. Even using adapted FF glass in cropped mode!
Hey dude loved this video! Can u tell me about the focus ring? I’m used to cine lenses as I’m using a Red Komodo. I was planning to buy this only because of the IS.
The focus ring isn't extremely tight, but sturdy enough for decent rack focusing. Glad you enjoyed the content!
Is the 63mm sharper then the 45mm?
Yes. Super sharp.
Outstanding review. 👍🏼
Thank you kindly!

How does the 50mm stack up with the system. It’s cheaper but no one really talks about it
Rarely used it, but it wasn't half bad! The 45 just delivers a much nicer image and I would recommend it hands down before the 50!
@@Daniel-Sanchez nice thank you 🙏🏾
what do u do for a living
Creator and investor!
Hi I am going to FujiFilm medium format I shoot portraits and landscapes what lens would you get first thank you
Right now it’s really looking like the 80mm f/1.7 and 23mm for landscape could be the duo you have to choose from. Picking up a nice used 32-64mm zoom could be option 1 if you need some solid range. Good luck.
How does the aperture work on medium format in terms of DOF? Is it the same as the focal length? Will the aperture be more similar to a f1.8 (or similar) on a full frame 35mm sensor? Thank you :)
The .79x crop factor will give you more depth of field!
No! The GF 110mm should be! Hands down!
Portrait beast!
Really interesting. I'm looking at the 100s. I really look forward to it for portrait work. Grateful for the over view
Thanks for watching!
can it keep up with hurucan?
At the moment yes. All the mods are power producing!
I just got mine about a month ago and I am still shocked by how amazing it is. Incredibly fast incredible sound looks like a brand new car interior is breathtaking. The SL pre-LP, will never get old. Ever.
Very curious. What SD cards do you use for your GFX 100?
I use Sony G and Pro Grade V90 SD cards for most of my camera bodies!
@@Daniel-Sanchez Thank you for spending the time to reply. I pre-order the gfx 100s so your video really helped.
You’ll love it!
@@Daniel-Sanchez yeah I’m really excited
I have the 45mm which is better. enjoy!
