This sensor is likely run at 5 volts on the Ecotec. It's likely sensors are being run at 5 volts more often, to counteract effects of varying battery voltage. Modern crank sensors have transistors in them, transistors switch faster at higher voltages, so the ECU's stable 5 volts will cause more consistent timing vs battery voltage; I'm talking likely sub 1 degree variations. A minor revision that is better on paper (and likely in testing), so why not. If you've seen/heard of a setting like "inductive delay", variation in that depending on voltage.

The switch is from a microwave door. Called a "normally closed" switch, if you're wondering. A pressure switch you'd put on a grip, is a "normally open" switch. Most lights are a toggle switch (or behave that way with some amount of transistor logic).

crazy u were able to get it to work to this degree. I think another workaround that could completely remove the need for programming and soldering is to get an after market ps3/ xbox controller (with small pcb’s) and one that also supports usb c connectivity, so windows has no issue with reading it. Something like this would work with a ps4/5 controller but the boards are a bit too bulky

I am learning to use Ansys fluent and for acceleration and calculation by GPU, Nvidia are recommended. I want to acquire an Nvidia Tesla K80, to do the simulations, but keep the AMD as the generator of the video signals for my three monitors. In the AMD Radeon pro settigs application, when I enter global configuration, I get to GPU Workload and it gives two options, "Computing" and "Graphics". I suppose that in the second option the AMD GPU is left as the graphics option (a kind integrated GPU, since the motherboard does not have video outputs). Is it possible to use these two GPUs in the same computer, the AMD as a video signal generator and the Tesla as a processing unit, for applications like Ansys? I want to use the Tesla only when I need to run simulations that do not support the use of AMD GPUs. The only SB1040 registry files were in folders labelled for Vista and XP, so I just randomly picked one; I think I used the Vista file. If there was Windows 7 or higher, I would have chosen that. Seems (at least with my PC) the card needs to be in the last enumerated slot (likely same reasons as adding thunderbolt to PCs that didn't support it, device enumeration space in BIOS/UEFI). Oh, and if you have multiple monitors hooked up, expect to digitally rearrange them again after restart. I had to rearrange my 6 monitors. I assume there's a registry group shared with HDMI audio, and the AMD drivers reinitialize some things whenever there's a registry change.
