Man, Canada churned out some great bands in the Seventies and Eighties. Prism, Trooper, April Wine, Rough Trade, Chilliwack, Payolas, Red Rider, The Spoons, Martha and the Muffins, Teenage Head, Rush, Bryan Adams….Remember how we could see most at the local hockey rink for ten bucks?
I won the Prism album back in the late seventies in a local radio station competition in Liverpool, didn't have a clue who they where, I still don't now really , but boy do I still play that album regularly and still love it. I thought I would do a you tube search to see what's out there and not disappointed to find this, excellent!
I’ve been been binge listening to these guys for a week now. I forgot how damn good they were. It was over as soon as they kicked Ron Tabak out of the band I don’t care what his issues were. They should’ve found a way to make it work. so underrated and shouldn’t be just an asterick in rock history.
I remember when I invited a friend over to listen to a song on a record my mom had that was compilation of songs from the 70's and he was only interested in a song called More Than A Feeling.
No matter what anyone says THIS is Prism. A few years ago my wife says Prism is playing in Vancouver and i said NO it isn't Prism. Ron will always be Prism. He is the voice. My brother bought the Armageddon album and i was hooked. That is until the Vancouver police KILLED Ron. Tell me i'm wrong
Agree with you and a thumbs up from me. I too believe with many others that the VPD killed Ron. I'm in Vancouver and I know some of the old Trooper band members and I ran it buy them regarding Ron being murdered buy the VPD. Bassist of the band told me he believes as well Ron got beaten up buy the Vancouver Cops and eventually succumbed to his injuries. No arguements there.
@anthonys3631 you just had to mention Trooper lol another band my brother got me into. He bought the thick as thieves album but a really cool story I have only lived in the lower main land for 20 years before that I lived in Kingston ont. Yes the home of the hip. Anyways I found out Trooper was playing at a bar called AJ's. The ticket cast me a whole $5. I was right at the stage drinking and dancing really really enjoying the concert. Then Brian stopped playing to bend down to shake my hand I was like omg. Then he flicked me his pick. What a night. Going back to Ron he will always be missed after his murder. I want to find his grave to say hi to him
@@kevinm4022 Ron is buried at Forest Lawn in Burnaby. I too want to go visit his grave one day to pay my respects. Donnie Underhill the original Trooper bass player skates out at my ice rink I am employed at out in Delta. He and the drummer still play but not for Trooper they are doing their own thing now. Gotta ask him next time I see him the details. I loved the song 3 dressed up as a 9 and Donnie and the drummer both original band members autographed my Flying Colors CD. Really nice cool guys. Donnie tells me he still talks to RA the lead singer all the time. They are all still good friends. Cheers!
I saw these guys open up for Rush on their Moving Pictures tour 1982. I am ashamed to say that i had all but forgotten about them till now. Im listening to Prism and the nostalgia is hitting me hard. Thanks for putting this up

On Sunday March 6, 2011 Prism's "Spaceship Superstar" was chosen as the wake up song for the Space Shuttle Discovery crew members. This was a significant point in history as it was the last day that the crews of Discovery and the International Space Station were together before Discovery returned to Earth in the last mission of Discovery
I saw these guys in 1978 at the forum with trooper and both bands were amazing and at the pinnacles of their success,so they both came out hot and it was a great show.Randy Bachman also attended ,I recognized him as everyone was filing out.A very memorable evening in my youth

wicked sounding axe.
This came out in 1978. Head Games by Foreigner came out in 1979. It seems Mick Jones and company ripped our boys off.

Too awesome for my little mind
Just how good was that!!! Love it!
Seen these guys in Halifax form 1980 if I can remember back that far The Pumps opened for them what a great show.
Love this song
Solar powered laser beam guitar indeed.
There's not enough footage of Ron Tabak. Thanks for posting :)
wish someone would clean up the video sound is great.
Oh baby! Now this is Prism! That voice is unmistakable.
Tabak looks and sounds like Axl Rose in this video. Only better!
Just awesome. Thanks for posting. What a classic.
Very underplayed and under appreciated band!!!!
It's so sad Ron is gone, his voice was amazing.
So much better than Gowan
Случайно нашёл эту группу, песня щикарная. Странно , что группа практически неизвестная.
