มุมมอง 4464 หลายเดือนก่อน
Factory 30S-1 with 3b28 rectifiers and 4cx1500B tube. This is an outright max power test after restoring the amplifier. This is peak pulsed power on 80 meters. With ALC hooked up, it runs 1450w pep. drive power is about 100 to 110w. my S line is weak from years of use.

Gracias desde España. EA5BII-José Luis. Has sido muy útil tu enseñanza. 73s GL
Thank you Clark. This is video gold for us 30S-1 custodians. I have just stumbled on this and therefore will be checking Arthur tomorrow. Please dont forget, taht any alignment you do will be on the 1500 as opposed to the 1000 tube. I am arse uuming that your Amp has the screen mod? to make the best use of the 1500. I for one would welcome an idiots guide to the calibration proscess. The simple reason, I adore my unit. Kind regards from the Black Forest. Mike DL7 KFT
i hate noise
Great job Clark, I had the full SR-2000 set with the remote VFO, Keyer and Speaker.... loved to brag about being "Barefoot with a killowatt" hi hi 73's Red W5UW

Very Nice Clark!

Old school Muscle! Looks Great!
Great job!! It wasn’t even breathing hard. It looks perfect too.
this is richard in texas
I have a Hurricane I bought from an old ham years ago. I should sell it to someone who has the time and still has the skills to go through it like you did yours. Mine receives very well, but about 2 minutes of transmitting and it goes into a crazy oscillation and won't transmit again until it cools down. Nice old boat anchors with a built-in amplifier. 👍
Very beautiful
Very nice. I looked you up on Google street view. I don't suppose the street lamp is a disguise vertical? I am 76, probably will never get "back" on AM. I was first licensed in 65, general in 66. My first AM rig before I joined the Navy in 68 was a TCS-12. I actually have 2 or 3 Apaches and a couple of Mohawk receivers, all need work. If I remember the dial readout is busted on all of them--the circular plastic.
LOL!! Ignore the below, I just saw your "canary" video. A way more accurate way of zeroing the tx to the rx is to unmute the rx and use the tweety bird method like the Drake twins. It is difficult to hear low bitched zero beat and you can easily be off 20-40 hz. By using mike feedback you can easily get within 5--zero cycles. I've owned an A-4 and 51J3 years ago, but not the Collins transmitter.
If you are trying to talk to us we can't hear you. The noise from the radio is on par with your voice.
Nice if you are stuck in time and want to live and work in a museum
Looking good! I bet it sounds great too.
Wow! That is a beautiful restoration. Congratulations on your efforts.
Nice! Mine similar power

Excellent! 🎙️🎙️🎙️
Looks great!
Sad, very sad, shouldn't happen...
What type of screwdriver are you using?
Drooling 😁
you have to sell it to someone who is queer for these rigs to get your money for it. like it but its not worth big money to me. a new sdr rig will blow this away and you can get a ft-710 for 900 bucks and run circles around the old collins all day long. I have a 30s-1 and love it. paid 900 for it and just picked up a spare 4cx1000a tube for 50 bucks works great! amplifiers are crazy money now that's why i went with the 30s-1 good bank for the buck. hope you get your asking price.
what about the 30l-1
Why stack the gear like that? There will be excessive heat transfer from the transmitter to the receiver. Capacitor life will suffer. Believe me, don’t stack vacuum tube radio units like that. Set them side-by-side, separated a bit. Allow full ventilation space above. -Thomas (Advanced-Class Amateur Radio License, 35-year designer of vacuum tube equipment)
Man I remember the good old days sitting in your bad ass radio room with Sophie....... Was simple times. I'm sitting over here with 4.9k volts backing a c3x15.000a7. hope all is good Clark...... Just got down.
Beautiful ❤
which power supply are you using
Did you get to the bottom of this? 73
It is perfect kws-1. The output power is splendid, too.
what is this good for?
The canary isa very irritating sound!
Thank you for the video, as of this writing I am close to full power testing on my 500c. 1000 mile road trip to get it. Most of the capacitor replacement to modern had been done. So I tested all the tubes, changed 2 and checked all the wiring against the schematics. Your video is my tutorial on tune up. Also have all the books as well. 73 N9OVJ
Would you be willing to sell the yr-901?
Thank you very much! recently I've got a complete S-Line and I'm working on the process of restoration, btw very helpful information, Best 73's
Hi Clark, somehow a bunch of your videos showed up in my list again and I have watched several again. You have some very nice equipment. 73 WA4QGA
Hi Clark I have a KWM 2 and the 312b-5 VFO I need to do the mod to it.. Can you send me more info about this. Thank you Bob
Have you sold your Viking ?I have a Viking 2000 I want to sell as well
Awesome setup. And exquisitely maintained
Do you have a service manual? My yr-901 have problems
Отличная ретро техника.
I love how youtube randomly recommends me ~100 views videos every now and then with no context
Hello, great station. I am searching on the internet for the regulator mod for the power supply but cannot get much info. Do you have any link that can help? Thank you.
I suggest using 2 or 3 recievers with different mixing schemes, and some reduction in signal strength.. to ascertain if this is a spurious mixing product happening inside this radio... or it is actually harmonic radiation from the BC station. If so.. it is an FCC enforcement matter.
It was all radios
I'm rebuilding a pair now. Working on the 75A4 recap tomorrow! Regards, Richy N2ZD
Hi Clark - I was not aware you had a YT channel nor was I aware of a hole on the side for cleaning the TR relay. I assume since mine is the Rockwell Collins from 1978 it will have that port. Good to know about that. You have beautiful equipment. I am considering that digital readout for mine but have not gotten it yet. I am definitely a D-104 fan also but have had to change all my elements out to electret type mics and add the 9V battery in the bottom of the mic. I will have to ask you about some of this next QSO. 73 WA4QGA
