Multnomah Channel chromers. Part 2 coming soon! Things have definitely been heating up since these first few days grinding.
Coast Range Steelhead : Oregon Wild
มุมมอง 1.5K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Had the waterproof case on today for the rain, so the volume and clarity are a bit off. Watch in 4K! One of the best days I’ve ever had fishing steelhead in the PNW. Total miles tracked on app: 15.7. Go early, put in time. Catching steelhead is hard to begin with. Capturing them on camera, at the time they strike, alone, is nearly impossible. What an epic day.
Framing a Shop from Reclaimed Lumber : Part 2

Finished up shearing and installing all of the eaves and fascia.
Framing a Shop from Reclaimed Lumber : Building a Workshop for My Mom
มุมมอง 2783 ปีที่แล้ว
Beginning phases of the construction of my mom's shop. We're using reclaimed 2x6 fence boards for the majority of the structure. Enjoy!
Pergola Build (Part 4)
มุมมอง 6K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I finally get around to finishing the never-ending pavil-ebo-gola! This is mostly a time-lapse because I was short on time and only had this one (beautiful) day to get the roof on and avoid soaking all of our sheathing.
Pergola Build (Part 3)
มุมมอง 7K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Assembling the rafters for the Pergola Build. It rained and I had a kind of terrible time!
Pergola Build (Part 2)
มุมมอง 16K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I get the posts and beams up in this video, with a little help from my friends Matt and Jon. Other Notable Helpers: cordless router, orbital sander, Skilsaw, and Milwaukee impact driver. Make sure to check out Part 3, where I'll be assembling the rafters, roof sheathing and metal roofing. Also check out perkbuilders for more info and contacts!
Pergola Build (Part 1)

Just cracking into a new job on this video, laying some groundwork for a project that should roll out pretty quickly... once this concrete cures. See what I can come up with in four work days on this really fresh pergola. Check out my Instagram for more building work: perkbuilders and of course my art page: jacob_perkins_painter
Just beautiful work, thank you for sharing!!!😊
Wow, Wow, Wow, you did an exceptionally awesome job! Your work on the deck and ramp is stunningly awesome! Well done, Sir!
@@robertkerby2581 thank you so much!
I know this is a couple years old, but what kind of wood did you use for the deck surface? I never heard you mention it, but maybe I just missed it.
Amazing looking product there. Very impressive. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing work!! You are an artistic carpenter.
@@brucebigbie1537 thank you so much 🙏
Ive been building ADA ramps for 25 years or more and i cant wait to sell this one to someone on the Island lol , not sure why i never thought of it
This is pride in work! A lost attribute in the trades here in California.
I don’t like it… I love it🤠
just curious did you put some type of barrier like zip tape or that tar between the concrete pads and the ramp bottom plates to prevent water from wicking into the wood?
Awesome build brother. You left me wanting to watch a whole building series on this lol
@@micahpaul20 many thanks to you! I haven’t had much luck so far with cutting things up into parts. I’m trying to make more posts now though. Should have a new video up this week!
@@PerkBuildersare you showing a video of this one totally finished pls
Looks real good but there should be hand rail on the entire outside of the deck. Great job man!
What are you going to do about the higher ground surrounding half your house and the water runoff you will have. not sure if the water will run under the house plastic or are you going to cut back the land some and put in a drainage system.
@@supreme-9430 it’s not my house! But indeed, where they wanted to place it, and how the drainage will have to work in the future is an evolving topic surely. There is a pretty adequate grade away from the house at every point besides the back bumpout. I think they’re going to just hand dig that back a ways
GREAT JOB!!! AS A FELLOW CARPENTER/CRAFTSMAN I SAY WELL DONE
@@joebrooks1695 thank you so much, Joe! Still very glad I got to capture this specific job in a video. More to come!
I tried to watch this video but the inspirational quotes were just too much... I'm sure you do great work.
@@IdahoShawn hey that’s okay! to each their own!
Very professional
this guy is hot...
@@bp-fr9gi this seems like a pretty hot comment! Thank you!
Absolutely awesome.
Really nice little cabin. We build cabins in South Eastern KY this reminds me of our first one before the road and power was in. On our third one now. See you around!
Great video! I've watched a lot of youtube videos about building and I've learn a few things in this one I had never seen. The way you did the poly on the ground and around foundation beams was really good. Looking forward to seeing more from you! Thanks
Hard to get all the details in, let alone more than a few shots a day. Thanks for watching!
Are we going to see the whole finished Cabin???
We MIGHT. But I get the sense it may take a year or two for the owners to do the finishes they want in there. I will say that it should be a grand little spot in time
GOOD JOB .
Thank you!
Simply amazing your the man.
Very impressed with the work you and Lucas did! This is the cutdown version for us. Do you happen to have all the other footage? I’d really like to see more, even if it is not narrated. Throw in some music and we got a Bob Ross! Appreciated!
Alas, here I thought the 40 minute video was too long! The reality is there isn’t much more video to be had. It’s an absolute pain just doing the work, so the video suffers from that as well. I’ll keep making videos and find the happy medium over time. Thanks for the motivation 🙏
Also, i wish I could learn from you
I'm surprised this video hasn't made more likes. You are amazing. I seen some of your other videos, and I am so very impressed.
@@itsio7188 wow, thanks so much. I’m glad you like them! I can only do about a video a year it seems. Too many jobs, too much challenging weather, no time to edit!
@@PerkBuilders very understandable. I tried to video and edit while I did some wood working and it was terrible. Took too much time out of my life. A project would take longer than suppose to
Amazing job! Can’t wait to see the finished product! We are building a cabin and documenting it all on our channel. Keep up the good work and don’t forget to have fun!
Glad I happened on your channel. Awesome video with some awesome skills. Look forward to the next one.
@@timwoods603 hey! Thanks a lot! Hopefully more to come soon 🤙
That’s pretty cool thanks for sharing
@@DaleWHickman thanks dale! Always appreciate your videos too!
Awesomw build. Very well done, could sure use your skill down here in Southern Western Australia.
@@andoal4610 cool to hear some views from far away! Thank you friend!
nice bruv. that's a cut up steep bitc* Is that your property?
Eh! It is not! Wish it was!
They are giant pieces of timber. V thorough job with the concrete bases for the brackets.
inspiring work
@@communityspread thank you 🙏
Wow! I've watched a few ramp building vids and yours is seriously the best looking one I've seen. It turned out really nice! Great job!
Love the videos. Wild to me that this has no gutter system on the back. That roof is going to dump loads of water on the neighbor's back yard.
Beautiful job!!
So pretty
I just built a ramp at my parents and I couldn’t find variable joist. Did I see that you just cut the wood to fit? I bought open ended ones.
In this scenario yeah, I just shave the bottom corner at level to land solid on the hanger. At the 1:12 pitch of the ramp it amounts to about 1/4” removed, which is totally fine in my world/mind
Great work. 👍 Any customer can't go wrong hiring contractors like us.
How much was that?
Nothing like fine craftmanship!!
Nicest ramp I’ve ever seen
Hey J, thanks so much! High praise 🙏
This is EXACTLY what I want for my son! I have been able to find any other curved ones like this. I'm hoping that I can grow my carpentry skills enough to attempt this.
I wish you both much luck! I hope this helps you deal with some of the more tricky parts ❤️
What a Great job. You take a lot of pride in your work.
Seems, nicely done, ? On your steps? Any nosing, and post to ground, for bouncing, detent notice, I've learned my trades, in carpenter union, apennership, and being competitive , there's a time factor,
Do you need any type of flashing for where the decking meets the siding? I need to build a ramp also.
Good question! Typically, yes. Anywhere you’re actually attaching to the house, you’ll want to trim the siding all the way back to the sheathing of the house and flash over your ledger board. I have Z flashing up where the front door landing is, but on that downward slope against the house, those are spanning landing to landing, so that joist is not attached to the house. I hovered it 2” off the face of the siding and pushed the decking close, but about 1/2” off the surface of siding so everything can drain
Man that’s is so beautiful out there! Are you fishing public land? Are there a lot of rivers or streams like that in that area. Congratulations on your catches. When you said that was a 20 pound fish, I looked at that currant and thought Good Luck Dude. Anyway great video, I really enjoyed it. Thank you
Man that turned out nice. Good to know there are people out there that still do the right thing. And I actually like that look better. It’s not a mistake, it’s a solution for the future.
Happy Birthday 🎉
