Wordless Wanderings: Snowstorm January 2025
Short just around 5 minute video of an urge I had to put my phone out facing upwards on my back deck, pointed skywards at the snow that was falling and blowing through. I thought the shot was fairly clear, but you'll notice the top stem of a dormant plant in the left hand corner. :D Just some visuals to sit and think to, to possibly meditate to, or just to ponder things by...

Anime Nebraskon - Nov 1-3, 2013

This was the first year I went to Anime Nebraskon, which was held at Ramada Plaza Omaha Hotel and Convention Center in Omaha, NE on November 1-3, 2013, It seems like yesterday, and yet very much 12 years ago. The footage I had for this show was very limited, and was another victim of a hard drive loss some years ago, so what images I have included are in place of footage of people's cosplays an...

Yeah I can see what you mean, and that happens across many larger company figures as well. My comment was more in regard to Ramen Toy being an independent company I'd not purchased from before, and the overall presentation and final product really outpacing what my initial expectations were. I've messed with paint masks and hand painted approval models in my work before, so I was just going off the limited knowledge I had, and I genuinely think they did a very good job on this. I imagine the upcoming figures in the line will improve upon any few misses that this release had.

It’s based on an older Filmation/Mattel IP named Marshall Bravestarr, a sci-fi western that happens on the planet of New Texas. Lawlessness breaks out as a Kerium rush happens on the new frontier and Bravestarr along with his Deputy/robotic steed 30/30 are sent to quell the problems. Bravestarr has the powers of animals he can call upon: eyes of the hawk, ears of the wolf, speed of the puma, and strength of the bear. 🙂

1:03 This Gakken transforming toy has nothing to do with _Macross_ . It is the VF/A - 6 "Alpha" fighter / mecha from _'Robotech : The New Generation'_ (or originally the "Legioss" fighter from _Genesis Climber *MOSPEADA* ). The only connection to Macross is that this design was used in Robotech (and both Super Dimension Fortress *Macross* as well as Genesis Climber MOSPEADA were made by Studio Nue, with production by Tatsunoko).

Well, the Kobalt is a pass-through bit ratchet, and those bits are Chapman bits. They come with the Chapman mini ratchet. They have many different sets, you could get a massive set with 50 bits or something. That other thing needs an updated version with improvements. The Engineer ratchet has a ring spring, very common with inexpensive ratchets. Look up the Steinwhale mini driver. It comes with double-ended stubby bits. They are awesome. You can get them to fit in the Engineer ratchet frame if you carve out the green part between where the bits go. That way you can have four drivers in the tool, or six, if you also keep a bit in the ratchet head. I was surprised to see a video on these. One is old school and discontinued, one is a weird kickstarter thing, and one is an inexpensive, rather plain tool that comes under several brands. For more mini ratchets, look at Topeak, Prestacycle, Ares, Wera, Wiha, Tone, Klein, the new Milwaukee mini ratchet, Victorinox, 711L, Icon, Rujoi, USAG, Facom. There are many more features you'd appreciate, like inline drivers, Flex heads, swivel heads, t-handle configuration, modular bit holders.

Next time you extend the legs on the old tripod you will see spring loaded little lugs pop out. These are at the end of each extended section and stop the legs from sliding back when in use. To push the legs back just press the lugs back into the leg section and push the leg section back into the tripod. No need to use force as that can damage the lugs. Nice collection you have there.
