He's got a good sense of humor
Sorry to hear you got weird "commentators" - people sure are strange, but thanks so much for this.
Haha thumbs up for licensed professionals, thanks for sharing! Oh and hope Don is still doing well.
I have just finished reading Sgt Don Malarkey's book Easy Company Soldier, and what a good read that was.It fills in alot of the gaps not mentioned in Stephen Ambrose's book Band of Brothers. What a great idea to put Don's memoirs on TH-cam,what a lovely man.
Don makes me smile :). What a lovely man and hope the bad memories that he had just fade away like so much chaff in the wind. I know how hard it was a times for these men to keep going and doing the right thing.
This is very nice. Donald Malarkey...what a great man...another in a long list of men from The Greatest Generation. I am amazed at how vivid and detailed his recollections are of events that took place so long ago.
I have deleted all the ridiculous insulting comments. This wasn't an interview...just me talking to someone I know about my father.
Malarkey is slang for GREAT MAN.
LOL would have loved to met him
Please ignore the ignorant people and stupid rude comments. Once again thankyou for sharing these private memories of incredible heroic men. very much appreciated x
Thankyou for sharing these.... absolutely fantastic! Such brave, skilful soldiers - May they NEVER be forgotten.
You are my hero. Easy Company and the 506th PIR are my inspiration and remind me every morning that there really are great people in this world. I remember reading the book and watching the series multiple times and thinking to myself, how you really were the greatest generation. I would give anything to be able to meet you, Mr. Malarkey.
Thank you for your interview. They (veterans of that generation) were all great men and women.
Thanks for sharing this video, Susan! We sure appreciate what your father and Don did.
@kmvoss I agree. This person clearly has nothing better to do. Internet troll, the new age bully. But I am made of sturdier stock! He only embarrasses himself.
Clearly an Internet troll thinks it is hysterically funny to post immature comments on these videos. I apologize to the serious viewers of these videos.
@yogifalkmybitch No made up crap, I live in the town of Eindhoven which was liberated by the Easy company and these men visit us every single year. Thanks to these guys we live in a free europe.
Again, I am not an interviwer and not judging anyone. Just recorded a chat with Don who was a friend of my father's. You are all too weird.
Hi there, Mr. Malarkey looks wonderful! I hope he is doing well! Are you blessed enough to be kin to him?
@smithfinn I found it, much obliged.
@matszz I am referring to a photo of Don and my father, Burr Smith, taken in Kaprun, Austria. It is in several books and can probably be found online. It is also in Don's own biography, "Easy Company Soldier".
Thank you for sharing thses memories...
Thank you for uploading this video! These men are of the finest kind. Any documentation of their lives of any kind and how they were lived in the past is incredibly important. Thank you. :)
I have much respect for these guys, thank you for sharing your video!!! Will
Amazing.
The "dad is my dad, Burr Smith, and sorry, I wasn't interviewing him for anyone but me, about my father! These were stories Don has told me many times before and I wanted to finally record them.

Im curious about the picture you (the woman behind the camera) was talking about, is it up on the internet and if so could you please tell me where?

Don couldn't recall his name.
Does anybody know the name of the surgeon who saved Sergeant Grant's life? Even though he did so under duress that surgeon should still get credit. It'd be nice to know his name.
Thanks for sharing this. Good to see Don again. I had a good time with him at Foy some years ago.
