With all due respect to both beautiful talents, but being used the Elis Regina version all my life, listing to this one felt like a downgrade from 4K to 240p. It lacks everything.

What impresses me about this performance is the joy of Kent's performance. Vega sings extremely well, but if she were alone, and sang with this lack of involvement, I'd be uninterested and unmoved. Putting aside, for the moment, Stacey Kent's gorgeous voice and the art with which she use it, she loves the music; that, to me, the ability to project an infectious love for the music, makes a performance infectious. It's rare to find such a talent coupled with such affection and involvement. Stacey Kent enjoys the music and has fun with it. It's highly engaging.

Suzanne Vega sou tua fã desde os anos 80.

The only thing that sucks about this version is that Stacey and Suzanne did not play the ENTIRE SONG. They only played half of it :-( Still, it is the best femme/femme duet version of my most favorite Bossa song by Jobim! We should all MARCH IN THE STREETS and have Suzanne and Stacey actually sing the whole damn thing!

Stacey Kent is such a great musician - and she actually sings the words as if you are supposed to understand them. Vega goes through whole phrases where you can't make out a single word.
