Im assuming this meant you could longer use the app to control the car, schedule charging etc?
That is correct
Awesome video. Can you explain again why you had to open up under driver area for DAB? Was there not an existing dab connector behind old unit?
There was no existing DAB connector to plug into.
Is there a specific start up process to connect headset, phone and this? CarPlay recognises voice but not music or calls. That is all coming through phone. Did not get an idiots guide with it.
Pair your phone with the caruride first, then on the carpuride menu select audio output and disconnect bttrans by pressing the bin, then click on Iplay / auto. Search TH-cam for carpuride Audio fix roughly 3 mins in
Done it, do all 3 through the bike
Hi brought one the other day all fitted, is there a specific start up? Having trouble using Sena through either devices when connected.
Hi is the device detachable, ie so it doesn’t get nicked?
Yes it is with the mount. I am working on another video where I have worked out how to mount it relatively cheaply to the center of the screen above the Dash
How did you keep the fuel tank out of the way without unplugging the fuel lines?
Once you remove the seat it pivots up, if it doesn't stay just use a bungee strap or something similar.
Hello, brilliant video but can you just confirm that the reverse and side cameras work with this head unit?
I have reverse and it works fine, my car does not have side camera's.
Are some of the connections from original unit not connected to new pioneer? If not connected do you just let it stay unconnected behind the dash?
That’s right you connect the ones required and leave the rest hanging
Wouldn’t have all this fuss if Triumph had really thought about which plug should be a switched live. Thanks for the video 🍻
I agree, seems the wrong way round. They could have made them USB instead of Hella as well which everyone seems to convert. Also they could have put Carplay and Android Auto on their TFT's.
awesome, thanks mate , much appreciated also have ordered the quad lock kit as per your previous video to mount phone on wind screen , really cool idea , cheers
Nice one, glad it helped
nice , thanks for sharing , it would be great to have a video on how you had the cables running from rear , removing the pin connector and connecting the gps cable etc
Recording you a short one :)

@@Munkybunky much appreciated
a phone would do the same
It’s does and that’s what I used before however I don’t want a £1000 phone on the bike to potentially get damaged. Also the screen is much much bigger and makes life easier for me.
I use my iphone mounted on the screen with quadlock vibration dampener and charger. I thought about one of these devices but I would still need my phone on charge so just use that. I’ve done over 100,000 kms like this and never had any damage to my phone. The one advantage I could see is it would be easier to use with gloves to change screens.
I know what you mean but found the screen on my phone small, and taking the machine off-road does risk the phone getting damaged as well. In terms of charging I sometimes put the phone in the top box on. Charge
nice , thanks for sharing much appreciated
Totally agree, it’s shocking. And same happened to me. Engine fault appears on ECU, can’t ride the bike. Bike is under warranty. Not only the fact that the bike was not recovered by triumph assist (was recovered under my own breakdown - AA), it’s been sat for several weeks now because no triumph franchise can even scan the ecu to help me until middle of August. As “it’s bike season - we are fully booked until…” This issue arose 4 weeks ago. Triumph need to sort out their maintenance and care. I was on my way to Norway. Entire 3 month trip cancelled after just 4 days, and now still waiting for the earliest booking in any UK dealership, being the 15th of August. BMW would not treat their owners this way!
You need a cooling fan.
Hi, for what reason? it does not over heat and I have been running it for 4 years without one
Thanks a lot ! Exactly what I looking for ! Many many Thanks. In fact You've bought only 3 pieces + the phone's case, it's right ? SOrry for my bad English
That is correct, glad you like the video.
Is it recommended to warm the engine up first? Helps them come out easier?
Absolutely. Great tip!
I can now also confirm the rear view camera does work and switch's automatically if you connect the back of the head unit to the positive of the reverse brake light. I ran a lead from the unit to the break light to test and then wired it in properly under the trim.
thanks you for the video, help a lot
No Worries happy to help
Do you have to turn it on every time you start the bike? Or you turn it on once and it stays on?
You turn it on and it stays, that is until you either press it again OR you ride and hit 37 I think it is then it automatically raises.
I've just booked mine in, but they're charging me £40!!
No way, I would argue Triumph are giving to others for free.
What is the size of the rubber you used?
14mm
@@Munkybunky I inserted the 14 mm rubber, but I tightened the screw in the maximum and the support becomes loose
Doesn't that make it a bit difficult to pull/push the windshield up and down , especially while you are riding ?
Funny never really been a problem, I don't think I bother changing it once I have got going.
Does the microphone work ?
Hi, I added the Microphone that can with the new head unit so I don't know if the car Microphone works with the new unit. I perhaps should have checked first.
@@Munkybunky Where did you place the new microphone ?
@@dstroem I placed it under the steering wheel column, that said I am going to move it to above for better clarity
Did you scan for stupid error U0245 after installation?
hi, what is the make of top box mount as the one I have touches the back seat but it looks like yours is moved back about 3ins, I use soft bags on my bike and I need to move back a little,
It is a triumph mount
Great video! Thx!!
Glad you liked it!
Great video but would be good to know if the car's all round camera still work and also how you access all the other controls that the original unit had - EV info, various settings screens etc.
Mine just has a rear camera and that works fine :). In terms of the other settings you can still use the app, however I found I never really used them.
looking to pick one of these up this year heard they had added the ride high to the home buttom but doesnt stay once you go past 30mph so was looking to see a way to keep it low for when i'm in towns and stuff nice work great video
The Triumph got an update which works really well video here th-cam.com/video/X6pKP1H3wqM/w-d-xo.html
I hope Madstad comes out with a bracket for these. I find the wind protection a little rough with my Givi tall screen. I find it pretty turbulent at any setting. My XTZ1200 is so much better with a Madstad 24". NICE tip on the pairing. I had given up.
Was there any update video for this?
There will be shortly!
Interesting. I gave up on getting my nav to work on my 2021 Tiger GTP. Using the phone connected directly to my Bluetooth helmet speaker works just fine.
Thanks.
You're welcome
How does the factory camera retention lead connect?
Plug in the existing camera harness into the female camera retention socket, plug the yellow male RCA into the camera female socket. For the camera display - there are three cables in this particular scenario. One reverse trigger/signal cable from the pioneer head unit fuse lead, one from the camera retention cable and one from the pioneer harness that provides power (if I remember correctly). Join them all together and the reverse camera display will takeover each time you select reverse gear. Hope this helps someone reading this!
Did most of the cable just plug in easily? Any soldering, rewiring etc?
yup pretty much all plug and play
Thank you, great video by the way. I have the same car and wish I had seen this before I bought my chinese android head unit that im struggling to get the factory camera working with 😅
Nice video. Few questions: - do you still have access to the back camera when reversing? - can you schedule battery charges? - can you schedule remote heating?
Yes we still have access to the rear camera, yes you can schedule the other stuff through the app as I left the Wifi module in place.
Many thanks for your quick response. Essentially unless you have the original infotainent system, the only way to interact with scheduling battery and heating is throught the app. The app sometimes could be a bit challenging 😅 In my case right now the red schedule button in the app doesn’t show up to me 😢
That has also been my experience@@javiermelladomusica
@javiermelladomusica what is the app you a mentioning? I am wanting to upgrade my outlander. But I know it has all the scheduling and car setting controls for wipers etc. Can you edit this in the app?
I waited 18hrs overnight in a service station on the motorway for the RAC to recover my tiger with a flat rear tyre. What a bloody nightmare and everytime I phoned them got told a different story 😢
Wow, this is ridiculous seems like the RAC does not give Motorcyclists any sort of priority!
I had similar experience I waited 24hours and when the RAC turned up he told me not to expect any miracle as he's never seen a bike like mine and doesn't know what he could do apart from tow me to the nearest dealer.
SHOCKING! not helpful and they don't seem to care!
Nice video. Have you thought about adding the wireless quadlock charger?
I thought about it, but its a lot easier just to run a lead to the power outlet to the left of the dash (and cheaper)
Hi. Does it stay low if you switch it off in the low position? Thanks
yes it does, I lower it, switch if off and pop it in the garage. :)
Thanks for posting this! I've used your idea and is working great so far. As you've recommended, this is certainly not advisable without the use of the dampener. Poor cameras in phone would be rendered useless after a short stint on bumpy road.
Do you still get the trip info for the ev?
Not on the new unit but everything on the dash works
Hi, how is this working out as a phone mount on the screen handle?
It works great I use the mount for both my phone and my GPS
Hi what do you thing abot Tiger1200 RP? Onestly... a asked becaus I would to buy on the next year.
Good morning, it’s an amazing machine. Everything about it is great, riding it is great and it feels nice to ride. Things I don’t like which are very few are it’s very too heavy and it’s very tall. That said since I have had the lowering update applied it has made a world of difference to the height. In terms of the electronics the display is easy to navigate to satnav for me just works but I have had a couple of challenges with electronic steering lock. Would I buy one again yes, what other bikes would I consider? The new GS. Would I be happy keeping this one yes. 900 vs 1200 I loved the 900 but had quite a few issues ranging from false gears to not being able to select a gear and snapped which out me off so I traded it in.
@@Munkybunky thanks a lot for answear. What do you think about cardin shaft? It's a huge different during the race? Engine generate a lot vibration? I heard a lot negativ info about suspension, angin and cardin shaft. What dobyou thing about it?
Thanks for the update. Did you want/need the windshield extender at all?
In the end I decided to try the ride without it and didn't feel I needed it (I am 5'9")
I tried the same but with SP Connect. It wiggles a lot even with the dampener. I knew I was going to lose my phone's camera so I took it off.
It's supposed to wiggle a lot. That's exactly what dampener does, makes phone to wiggle to avoid it catching vibrations. If it was not moving, it would simply vibrate the same way as motorcycle and pass vibration into the phone.
What sweatshirt is that!?
The Tshirt is a Teapot One Tshirt (look him up on TH-cam) and the Hoody is a Kevlar Armoured Hoody I bought from one of the bike shows
I need to get mine in for an update!!!!!
They did mine quickly and for free
Hello from the United States! How did this perform at speed? Still happy?
Hi I was just over there a few weeks ago in New York and then Kansas City. At speed it is absolutely fine in my opinion.
Spend another 500 bucks and get it back straight again. A good way to fuck up a bike.
