Sweet cub cadet!
Nice workspace!
I like it
Seven of these in your video are our garden tractors. I custom built the rear blade on the 14 and a friend powder coated it for me. Once I saw the color I had set of custom “Ferguson” decals made by George Bradish in Latrobe. I also have a Massey Ferguson chainsaw, that’s why I have the wood in the cart. I set the saw on top of the pile for the show. Unfortunately I put it away for the evening and it wasn’t in your video. I really appreciate you taking the time to make and share the video. It’s always great seeing you there every year and I look forward to seeing you again this summer!
You have some extremely nice, very clean tractors. Definitely don’t see the Massey’s every day. The rear blade turned out great and looks factory. Glad I was able to get this lineup on video. Look forward to seeing you at the next show also!
These are some of the best little utility machines ever. Farming, logging, or construction they got a lot of work done.
They do seem to be built very well and adaptable for different uses. Thanks for watching!
I always thought it was kind of weird they had snapper make the 1450, 1650, 1655, and 1855. I mean don’t get me wrong I love snappers.
Never knew that. Thanks for watching.
Awesome
Put the pitch in the center of road you wont have so much errosion, water can shed left and right side
I Just picked me up one of these don't know much about them trying to learn something. I was told it's a 1960 w/ danco loader?
Nice! 1960 would make it a Cub Cadet “Original”, and the correct Danco loader would be a model “RD-300”.
I have a 1962 Cub Cadet Original with a RD-300 Danco loader on it. It's a handy little machine.
Nice! That is a very similar loader to the RD-1000, pretty much identical in function. I would agree that it’s handy!
@fleecydalefarm2840 The one I have the original pump was replaced with an electric pump.
Cool machine, nice seeing it under power. Thanks for sharing that!
Thanks for watching! It’s fun to make it work every now and then.
I'd still love and rock one of these daily for working on stuff around my place. I'd argue that these still have a place and will outlast any new sub compact tractor.
I would agree. They are just as fun to use as they are to collect! Built very heavy, these will last generations!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
They should have done an operating cost comparision. Is the newer, much more expensive, JD 4230 more efficient per hour?
That’s a good question. Might be a neat topic for another video!
Would have rather heard the JD 730 Gas putt, putt.
Next time! We never got the GoPro on the tractor for a first person point of view. Make sure you watch one of our earlier videos where we featured the 730 mowing!
Looks like a good year 👍🏼🇺🇸
Yes, it was! Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Beautiful i farmed with two 730s i miss it i was young then.
Great tractors and I’m sure a great time to be farming.
Awesome Agricat!!!
Thanks!
Very cool machine! The only issue I see with it is that I don't own it!
That things cool I have a #10 Johnson loader on a ford gt85 tractor
Thanks! Nice - the Johnson loaders are very neat also.
3 hours to do 15 minutes work.
Not everyone needs a Cat D9, buddy.
Actually, this took 15 minutes to do with the machine. It would have taken 3 hours using a shovel. It’s all about perspective, Bill!
@@fleecydalefarm2840 Right as pie
You may as well be shoveling. Throw that in the landfill and get something bigger
You haven’t shoved that much dirt in your lifetime, son.
I don’t know about that, Bill. I don’t think many viewers would have enjoyed watching someone shovel dirt by hand!
I'm only 35 years old but I have 128 years experience in shoveling dirt and I will tell you I would much rather use one of these.
That looks like my old tractor! I like what you have done with it! Great looking rig!
Thanks, Ryan! Hopefully more to come in future videos!
Very nice machine. I had a Danco on my old Wheel Horse. There is a couple videos on my channel. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, and thanks for watching! I’ll have to check out your videos. I’ve never seen a Danco on a Wheel Horse in person.
digging the ground is faster with this machine
That is a sleeve hitch mount not a 3point there is a difference... Best mods for this tractor are 1) add a 2speed box to the front of the transmission and 2) change the rear drive tires to either 23x10.50-12 or duals and fill the drives with a liquid ballast 3)brace the front spindles as they can bend 4)convert the front wheels to ball bearings instead of the stock bushings or tapered roller bearings via trailer spindle conversion (best way to do this is modified 3500lb trailer spindles)
Thanks for the comment! Yes, we all refer to them as “sleeve hitches” today. But in the original IH Cub Cadet operator’s manual, IH referred to it as a “three-point hitch” at that time. There’s definitely a difference between the modern meanings today!
@fleecydalefarm2840 there was actually 2 rear hitches available from cub cadet the sleeve hitch and the cat 0 3point what you have is the sleeve... The 3point used a different rear mounting plate and rocker shaft... Xtrememotorworks makes reproduction 3point kits for most ih cub models excluding the 70/100 models as well as reproduction sleeve hitches they also sell a modified reproduction of both... Good source for some reproduction parts (I have 12of the ih cub tractors the 70/100, narrow frames, quitelines, and the wide frames)
I have a 1968 jd 140 with the johnson loader and a 33 tiller on the back . These are neat old machines. I like the cubs very over built.
That’s a nice set up! Yes, I agree, very overbuilt like a lot of things back in the day were!
@@danwhitehead4913you will want to upgrade the steering spindles... If not already done as most garden tractors had 3/4 inch spindles back then
Super cool tractor!!!
Thanks, we agree!
Sweet tractor!!
Thanks!
Maybe if you angled your road to the outside the runoff water would go over the hill and not erode the inside of your road. Pretty cool video.
Yes, currently the road is in-sloped, as opposed to out-sloped. There are pros and cons to each, but that was not intended to be the topic of the video. Thanks for the comment!
The early JD 450s were a great machine. We had one of these for our high school forestry program in western Oregon that was equipped with the full side screens, winch, arch, brush rake, and 6-way blade. For a small machine, you could get a lot of work done in a day. Basically, if you couldn't do it with one of these machines, you might as well go up to a JD 650 or D6 sized machine. I moved to Sweden in the last couple of years. I have only seen ONE dozer in Sweden and it was an inoperable, very early D3 Cat. They do everything with excavators there, but they are so used to the excavators and have never been around a crawler, that they do not realize what a great machine they are. The best of all worlds is to have both a crawler and an excavator. I have been wondering what the shipping cost would be to get one to Sweden. After watching your three videos, there is now one more thing to add to my 'buy in the US' list. Thanks for posting the videos. It was a great reminder for all the hours I put in on one of these fine machines. If you are interested in skilled equipment operators, here is the link to a fellow whose TH-cam channel is called Hedblom. Pay very close attention to the rotator between the bucket and the jib. You see these on EVERY machine with a boom on it in Sweden. I've only seen two of them in the US. One was on a 200 class Komatsu at a Ritchie Brothers auction and my buddy has one on a miniexcavator. You can pick any video here and learn something new. www.youtube.com/@HedblomSwe/playlists The rotators were developed by an operator in northern Sweden years ago and you can see them on everything from minihoes to backhoes to 200 class machines. They nearly eliminate a groundman and can basically do any motion that you can do with you hand. Pretend you 5 years old again and go find a pile of loose dirt. Start playing in the dirt using your hand with and without using your wrist. That is the difference that these devices make for any excavator.
I have one just like it, except mine doesn't have the pre cleaner stack. Gas with wide front, fenders, and weights
Nice! Don’t see too many gas models around, especially with a wide front end…
What bulldozer making ?
How big are your tires
Tractor tires are 23x10.50-12 on rear, 16x6.50-8 on front. Planter tires are 4.80-8.
@fleecydalefarm2840 okay because I have a 116 johm deere hydrate riding tractor and I wanted to find some like yours
Hello Sir, great video. I am helping an estate. My issue is, I am looking for a pic of under the cover of the hydraulic levers right of the drivers seat. Would you be so kind to take pic of the wires on the solenoid as a mouse has gotten in and chewed the wires. I cant find any pics of this diagram on the internet. Your video is well done and U have a nice crawler. Beautiful machine.
Thank you for watching and commenting. I don’t believe we have a solenoid and/or electrical wires under the right hand hydraulic compartment. This dozer has the 6-way blade controls and reservoir in that compartment. What solenoid are you referring to? Thanks.
Had one just like this on our family saw mill, kept it when Sawmill was sold and brought it down to the panhandle of Fla to my Citrus farm, Love to have this one with the one I have is this one for sale?
Nice! I don’t believe this one is for sale.
That's a nicely restored machine - should imagine it's a bit of a rare beast ?
Yes, especially with the Holt blade, 3-point hitch, and PTO.
Thanks for showing all that stuff. Looking for a dozer and considering a 450c, so I can know my way around the machine a bit.
Glad it was helpful! These were the basic maintenance items to check. I may make a more in depth video of the dozer overall.
3:14 that’s Matt from DIESEL CREEK in the D9H Bulldozer 👍🏻
that was my first thought was isnt that his D9
@ it sure is!
Nice video, Luke!
Thanks, Sam!
That 730 is feeling no pain!!.
It could have probably pulled 4 bottoms through that field.
It took a lot of work to get her to this point. I have a video of starting her and pushing dirt. I may be putting a video together later of the resto
It’s a nice dozer for sure!
Makes me want to fix the lift arm leak on my 420 W and take it out. Got the 5-speed, power steering, orchard exhaust. She's a big tractor to us.
Nice! Power steering is not very common on these tractors.
Good shape! Never seen a loader like that!
Doesn’t seem to be too many around!
Monster
Sure is!
I love them old Masseys.
Nice. There were definitely some nice ones here.
a great video and good commentary. I have a hand start 39 A, two wartime GM's and a late styled B. It amazes me how all these two cylinders have their own unique sound. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching! Yes, you are right about the different sounds they all have.
Was anyone at the tractor pull? Looked like all empty seats.
This was a small club pull. Most of the spectators also pull and are behind the track.
Great video! 22 years ago I ran the round baler.
Thanks! I’ve never ran one myself.
Oh my god, gosh, golly goodness this is quite hilarious and amazing! If I was on that dozer, I’d feel like I was on a unicycle with 2 wheels on the sides!
Need some spikes or cleats on the wheels, and then you know they have grip to ground
