This video has reminded me just how good the portrayal of each characters trauma was in s1. It really makes me sad looking back at s2 and how it almost felt the writers pushed some of that aside to make room for the amount of drama and glamorization. Even the costuming made me a bit disappointed because i really felt s1 had a great showcase of gen z and real teenagers.. :/ as much as i did like s2, there was a lot of stories i felt shouldve had more run time, specifically rue and kat. Though i would say its been awhile since i have rewatched and have had a fresh perspective i should say. Also when it comes to s3, i am obviously tuning in and curious on how the show will continue on, i am a bit worried for how it will be. Barbie has left the show, which i really loved her character and her story. All the rumors of s3 as well .. taking place years ahead, would leave so many unanswered questions.

Imma say just a response to this title, it's simple. If men getting everything they want from the woman and her BODY and time being the most important, a man has zero incentive. Why take the responsibility of supporting a woman and officially c0ck bl0ck of himself from accessing other women who will be equal to the "main". There's no hierarchy in his world and you're no queen in his. I've told all the men I dated, they've got a limited time with me, I ain't giving up shit, and I will move on. And I did and I always got a ring. Edit: 2 years? LOL please. 6 months. You're a woman, you're on the clock, that's 5 men in your 20s. Nah 6 months max. Also, men lose interest in women over time, and the most he'll feel is at beginning and vice versa for a woman. Please talk to the men in your life.

Cassie's character is so educative about the impact of upbringing in how people show up for friendships and relationships. I would empathize with her though. She didn't know any better and she wasn't self aware either. It's kind to give others grace. Let's see what happens in Season 3.

I never hated Cassie and I was shocked that so many people did. She's a victim! I felt so bad for her.

I think I was one of the few people who didn’t hate Cassie in season 2, does that mean I agreed with everything she was doing? No, not at all. She made mistakes, she knew what she was doing was wrong but I don’t think anyone would argue that she was out of her mind. By the end of season 1, Cassie was seemingly ready to be independent and explore her life without men in the way, yeah, I never believed that shit. Cassie had had an abortion and had no comfort or support from anyone, no one, not even her mom was there to support her and be with her while she was going through it. Cassie was alone (I'm not a mother but if my teenage daughter was going through this I would totally want to be there, especially if the baby's father wouldn't be there). And sadly the only way she can feel held back by someone is by men because the only man who gave her love was her father. Her mother was never there for her and yet she laughed at her daughter being ridiculed by her other daughter in a play. I don’t blame Cassie for not reacting well to that.

The Cassie broken video on TH-cam really humanizes her. You made soo many great points and I’m such a Cassie fan too and I think like you said, a lot of girls could relate to her in season 1. Even in season 2 I got it because she finally had someone, who didn’t ask her to really change that much. Like you said looks were her weapon so when she changed it for Nate, she kind of thought it was just part of growing or trying new things probably or trying to keep him. One thing I will add abt the nudes, yeah it was stupid not to stop doing the, after leaks but I think what made it hard for her, was that it was probably normalized among her peers to sext, so that made it harder. Rue even said that nudes was how young people said I love you so not to judge someone, so everyone else probably felt like this is just how people communicate in relationships and she didn’t want to deprive her partner because she didn’t want them to feel unfair. If she had a better foundation and stronger boundaries, she could have said no but everything she experienced in her life, mixed with how kids were, just made it harder for her to get taken advantage of. Even if she didn’t want to, her friends and everyone still sent nudes, like I said, they thought this was ok and normal, with other kids, theirs just wasn’t getting leaked, so if she stopped, she would probably look like a prude or get hated on or guys would prob leave her because she had her looks to offer. She probably just thought, maybe this guy will be different and I can have my happy ending but if he shows it, then he’s just like everyone else.

We need to keep talking about how boys and men are predators, the reason our parents are so stressed about us being free with our looks and bodies is because they know these predators are up to no good! Cassie was a victim of this, she was vulnerable, and all of the boys started to circle her and prey on her. Sadly, most of us can relate because things have not changed, this has been happening since the beginning of time. We need to start treating them like liars and sociopaths until proven otherwise 👀!
