The truth is that the doctor needed Donna Noble more than the Donna Noble needed the doctor because Donna Noble was like his sister very very much like a sister you know the kind of person who when you’re doing something stupid will call you out on it the kind of person who will kick your butt if you’re being a jackass And will tell you when you have a kid and you’re not being a good enough, dad how to be a better person to that kid… so I wasn’t too surprised and I was rather happy when they gave the doctor a place to retire and it was with Donna Noble. The only thing that I did find concerning oh and by the way, he’s referred to as her brother and Rose’s uncle roses, her daughter by the way spoilers, it really explains why when Riversong meets on Noble she immediately knows that Donna Noble is somebody unique even if Donna Noble doesn’t think of her self is that I’ve often wondered if not, everyone died on Galfrey considering that there were Galifreyians living abroad, as it were, including on earth, and the doctor, in fact takes over the same position that his former teacher had on earth Chronotis well at least that’s the name he chooses to use professor coronitis sorry voice to text is going to mess up the name no matter what I do anyway it turns out his what his real name is well there’s a whole thing behind it but if he could be sitting as a professor then it stands to reason that doesn’t tell you when he died either so it could very well be that his tardis was used as an escape vehicle for others on Galfre. Maybe he went and rescued them doesn’t say what happened to him so there’s a story right there.

to The Doctor, Donna was never a companion, she was his best friend, he even says so himself as the 14th doctor. that's what makes donna moments so great, its not a helpless girl or boy following everything the doctor says, she actually takes charge and is a great balance for david tennant's doctor

ten and donna's relationship is so amazing. i love companions who are just turbo besties with the doctor! one of the few gripes i have with other platonic who dynamics like amy and eleven is that the writers like to add romance to it for drama, when the characters are actually at their best without it. the best thing about ten and donna is that from their first appearance, it's clear that they don't see each other that way. true platonic soulmates who not only made each other better but made the universe better!
