I accidentally discovered this technique when playing the marimba next to a piano with the lid open. It was a fantastic experience. I love Ruud’s sound, seen him with the Metropole Orkest a few times at North Sea Jazz

.. ontdek deze prachtige uitvoering veel te laat, maar gelukkig: hij is er nog! Prachtige groep om Ruud heen, Hans weet de So What sfeer in zijn solo perfect vast te houden, Frans en Marcel doen dat samen, met wat lichte ondersteuning door Hans: wat een fantastische uitvoering!
Amazing rendition. I especially like the intro, blowing onto the grand piano’s soundboard with the dampers raised. Beautiful effect. Very L’Ascenseur pour l’échafaud intro as well.

Ruud is surprisingly near to the approach of Miles. I thought that were impossible to do :) Very centered, tough soloist, impressive. Btw - Beautiful ascenseur sur l'echafaud Intro!
Pro trick : you can watch series at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.

I am a big fan of Rudd's. He is one of the best trumpet players around (not only in Europe), and it is always great to hear him with the WDR. As a matter of fact, all players in this video are excellent. Thanks for uploading.
