For the one who believes on Jesus, heaven is your true home. While earth has its beauties, they are but poor shadows of heaven...for heaven and earth have the same Designer, only heaven is so much better. I create art because I'm dreaming of that home, and it is my desire to inspire you with art like a window through which one might catch a glimpse of a shadow of heaven.
In this channel I bring you along with me as I learn to paint and get better. My learning becomes yours, plus, I think it's just relaxing to watch someone paint even if you don't!

Been a pleasure watching you grow as an artist. Proud to say I've been with you since near the beginning. Keep going, and keep growing!
Great advice and much appreciated. Proud to say I've made content for people like you! Thank you for watching all this time!
Great tips!
Thank you Megan!
This is such good advice and I think it applies to so many different areas of life! Thanks Stephen! One thing that makes me inspired for art is watching other people do it!
I think you're right, my pleasure!
Your metaphor of throwing your discs and art just made me smile when you said what on earth does tossing discs around have to do with art. Practice and some consistent painting always improve our paintings. Inspiration as you say can come from many different places. I enjoy seeing other artist's work or watching them create a painting does it for me. I learn something when I study or watch an artist do their thing. I've enjoyed watching your channel and get inspired by your work. The painting in the intro to this video immediately caught my eye and I was excited to see how you created your "Here And There" piece. Thank you for the inspiration you provide me on a regular basis and some valuable tips.
Thanks for the comment! Yes, I definitely agree with you. I love to gain inspiration from other people's paintings. I've really enjoyed your input on this channel and I love to hear from you! I figured you'd like the "Here and There" digital painting... it's your style with that sunset and those distant hills. It is absolutely my pleasure sir.
Wooow😭☘️☘️☘️
🙂👍
Gorgeous. It looks as if it may be a secret place for a clandestine lovers triste; romantic and mysterious. Superbly muted colours against the light of the lit candle..Thank you so much. ❤❤ xx
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
Your painting is magical. The soft colours of the castle with the mist and mountain in the background has a wonderful ethereal atmosphere. Bravo. Thank you. Xxxx❤❤❤
Absolutely!
Thank you. I really love your painting. Yes, you now have a beautiful easel. Xx
Thanks so much!

Thanks for another great video
Absolutely!
Beautiful painting Stephen! It's so enjoyable to watch you paint. And God's creation is gorgeous ❤❤.
I agree, thanks so much! ❤
Beautiful painting, Stephen!
Thanks! ❤
Thanks for that, I feel inspired to get out and do my own. I'm curious, did any paint get on your car seat?
Seems risky to put the painting on the seat like that, but I've always done it and it's always fine, however, I'd like to make something to put them in at some point. My pleasure, happy painting!
Really lovely painting! 🖼️😍🖌️🎨🙏
Thanks!! 👍🙂
@@windowstoheavenart994 grazie

I absolutely loved this presentation. The area that you chose seems so peaceful and idyllic. The painting of the Poplar trees in the shade caught by the morning light dappled across them evokes such calm you have in the early morning. Even that bug seemed to be enjoying your painting getting himself a closer look 🙂. The finished painting is just beautiful.
Thanks Rueben! I love this area, and those poplars set up perfectly for a painting subject. They are so big and bold growing there, begging for someone to paint them! Thanks again and have a great day!
🎉👍👏
🙂👍
this is actually soo gorgeous!!!
Thanks Emma! 🙂
This painting is so beautiful! ❤ Great job Stephen! It's fun to watch you paint and see it all come together!
Thanks Pure Joy! ❤
You should say what mixtures it makes….
🙂
Very nice keep painting and enjoy the journey and the love of creating.Beautiful job
Thanks so much! 🙂
Still life paintings are another great "tool" in an artist's repertoire. I enjoy a great still life and are a different pace from landscapes or other types of paintings. The final results are a beautiful painting. Your demonstration this week does make for a good beginners painting for someone just starting out. Well done as always>
Thank you Rueben! My thoughts exactly.
This has to be my favorite painting of all those I have watched on your channel. That's a hard choice as you've painted many beautiful paintings. I especially love the sunset colors tinting the towering storm clouds is just as I've seen. The more muted colors really compliment the beautiful clouds. I of course come away a little bit more knowledgeable about a different painting process, time well spent sitting here watching your presentation.
I really appreciate that my friend, thank you for the comment and compliment. This painting was dedicated to you (it's written in the description box at the bottom). Thanks for watching and all your comments.
@@windowstoheavenart994 Thank you so much for the dedication. I can't think of a more beautiful painting to have that done to. At least until you do another sunset or sunrise painting as I'm a sucker for either one. Thank you again Stephen.
@@RMR12 Absolutely
Great video, Stephen, and beautiful painting!
Many thanks!
It's so cool to watch you bring the painting together into the finished product! That's a really interesting technique to use for painting!
Thank you! Yeah, I like to see it come together too! It is a different technique...I might start doing this for all my paintings now...not sure yet.
Very nice, man. Subtle and well blended. Not a lot of noise. Well done.
Thanks man, much appreciated.
I love your painting! When I saw the photo on TH-cam I was immediately drawn to it and wanted to see the video. I do however think that for a teaching video with so much complexity I would have liked to have some narration. Like, what colors did you mix? What was your thought process? To what extent did you use the photographic reference? How much paint is on the brush when you dry brush? In my opinion some narration would really up your game. Lovely, exquisite painting, and I really like your music!
Awesome advice! Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, those little info details are very helpful. You might find some of my more recent videos along those lines. Always improving 👍
That looks fabulous!! Absolutely beautiful painting!! Once again, a great tutorial, so informative!! May God bless your talent and may He bring you great prosperity!!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it 🙂 May the Lord bless you too!

Wow, glad to hear from you in Spain! ¡Bienvenido amigo!
Goood morning. Salutations and such😂
Glad to see you on the channel Jay!
Bravooo. 😊😊😊
Thank you!🙂👍
magnifico.
¡muchas gracias!
What was that digital pad you were using? That looks tight
In the video's intro? That's a "Wacom Tablet"
With a few tweaks that could be a night painting, too. Liked the grisaille technique.
Interesting 🤔 Great suggestion Sue. I'm glad you liked it, I wasn't sure what people would think, but yeah, I really like it too!
Excellent video ! And great grisaille
Thanks Morgane!
"They make the sky look as big as dreams." I love that❤! So beautifully said! Lovely painting.
Thanks Pure Joy! ❤
Those clouds are so beautiful! Fairytale realms! I love it!
Thanks Megan ❤
An interesting lesson today. I love sunsets and sunrise paintings and although at this your painting does not have the sunset colors what you painted reminds me of a stormy day. The storm has past or is approaching. It evokes that in the colors and the towering cloud bank and the mood it presents. It's always enjoyable to catch your presentations and I come away a with a little bit more knowledge.
I love to hear it, thanks so much! I really appreciate it when people are able to come away with something from a video. I'm excited to put some color on now.
@@windowstoheavenart994 I forgot to mention, but then you might have seen it already. But you had asked to see some of my work. I did send an email with a few pics of some of my paintings attached.

I love that 👏
Thank you!!
Such a beautiful painting!!!
Thanks so much!
A lazy midsummer day captured in a painting, great work!
Thanks Celt!
For advanced painters I take it? Too fast and not enough info. This is NOT for beginners, but it is incredibly beautiful!
You are correct Sally, this is for advanced painters. However, this is actually very beneficial for beginners too, especially the time-lapse. It gives a more simplified overview of how a complicated painting comes together, something I learned from myself years ago as a beginner. There might be some more advanced elements that will escape a beginner, but there is much a beginner can learn from this! I appreciate it! 🙂
Aahh back on dry land lol. While I enjoyed your recent seascape paintings I really prefer landscape paintings, This "Old Road" with the dappled lights from the shadows and those trees that create them just make for a very beautiful serene painting. This was a pleasure to watch. Thanks
Haha! Yes, I do like to "set sail" every now and again 😉. Glad you like it, my pleasure Ruben!
@@windowstoheavenart994 It's always good to try new things, especially when it comes to paintings. I'm not very good at doing portraits but i am giving it a whirl. I always look forward to catching another one of your videos here on TH-cam.
I agree! Portraits, that's great! I wish I could see some of your works. Thank you, I always love your input.
I like the dappled light on the road. The trees in the background on the right give interest to the dark area and the fence on the left directs the eye down the road. I like it! Lots of great tips, thanks!
Absolutely, thanks for your feedback too!
