If another road user waves you through a junction when they have the priority your judgement is everything. Here we have 2 situations only one junction apart. In one case it was the wrong judgement to go and would get a serious fault on the test, in the other case it was fine. Please note this video is intended to give you the information you need to answer the examiner's questions at the start of your mod 2 tests, but not the detail how to service your motorcycle. The 3 random questions the examiner will chose should take no more than 60 seconds to ask and answer.
When checking the oil or brake reservoir, does the bike need to be upright and off the kick stand or just on a flat road (not a hill). Thank you.
For both oil and brake fluid the bike should be level and so off the side (kick) stand.
Extremely good video
Thanks!
I'll bear this in mind when I pass my theory and start taking the Mod 1 and Mod 2 test. Thank you ^v^
Im doing my mod2. When I show (same as in this video) how to check the kill switch is working my instructor said thats not enough as we only see the switch is moving. I had to put ignition on , kill the switch and show the bike doesnt start. So which one is correct? 🤔
If you want to be sure it works, the engine should be on BUT I can assure you for the Mod 2 question the examiners don't need the engine to be running, you are just demonstrating how to use the switch. You can see this at the gov.uk information here www.gov.uk/government/publications/motorcycle-show-me-tell-me-vehicle-safety-questions/motorcycle-show-me-tell-me-vehicle-safety-questions. >>2.11 Show me how you would check the operation of the engine cut out switch. Operate switch, without the engine being started.
Hi thanks this video is helpful a lot…… I pass today 🎉mod 2
Great job!
Succeed my Full Mod2 today. Thanks!
Well done
Perhaps the soundtrack for this video should have been the Bomb The Bass track, "Winter in July"!
Good point: I had a pretty experienced road rider waving me passed twice on a narrow lane near biggin hill that I don’t know. I didn’t overtake. I passed him when I was sure it was ok , both of his choices as it turned out, were bum steers. We both ended up stopping for a cuppa at a tea room on a farm. I said thanks for the wave by, but I’m in an old landrover and I know my vehicle and it doesn’t accelerate fast enough for where you indicated me to pass. We had a nice chat about old fwd motors and people who are too scared to overtake him at all and they create an angry traffic jam which is actually worse. In short always do your own driving, don’t assume any waves on are being given by a competent person!
Nice!
Highway Code is common sense lol 😅
Not as easy, especially for people who haven't rode on UK rodes before
The main reason a cyclist might "wobble" is last-minute avoidance of avoid pot holes or drain covers. Especially true for bikes with tyres that are about an inch wide!
Good advice 🙂👌 Similar situation with Horses; only with the latter an even greater margin is needed.
Bikes can often be worse for passing cyclists than cars. They make a lot less wind and road noise than cars so quite often they're on before you even know they're there. Also, having a noisy exhaust and not leaving enough space can result in a hell of a jump scare for a cyclist.
Moist
Its sunny whenever i'm in work though!
A perfect summers day 😂
Agree or disagree. But as far as I'm concerned, bike tests these days are just a money-making scam. When I was younger, you took your test on the road with one guy standing and watching you. and it must have taken half an hour. All this crap now is just to con people out of a lot of money, and I don't like being conned. I haven't passed my test, but I was riding a 250-cc for years and never had any accidents. It may be important if you intend to ride a high-powered bike but not a 250-cc There is nothing they could teach me that would make me ride any better. I'm sure it would be easier and less hassle to get your flying license. I only wish I had taken my test before they brought all this bullsh*t in.
Got my mod 2 tomorrow this video helps a lot
Just double checking with for example the passenger questions where there is a list of answers, is the examiner looking for one of the answers from the list or all the answers from the list?
You will get asked just one of the passenger questions but all the answers are needed for that question.
Mod 2 today 11.30. Darwen. Been watching your videos thanks dude!
how did you get on? hope you passed!
Got mine next Thursday!! 😮
Way to freak anyone out thinking about doing their CBT
Great video. Thank you
Yeah, I'm not stopping if they're waiting, not unless there's a light or zebra, that's why they exist... it's dangerous to stop mid turn/corner, and the driver behind can't predict a brake check, and so get hit.. I'll slow down but continue, unless the pedestrian is in the road and I'm forced.. They stuck a zebra crossing on a corner and due to the dangers of it being "on a corner" they removed it.. that was wide, 4 width with an island 😂😂😂 As a pedestrian I will not walk out on a corner, I will not teach a child to walk out on a corner expecting a driver, bike or lorry to stop and wait for little old me.. they could get hit, and that carnage is now a few feet away from me.. its stupid beyond measure. In every scenario, I could safely wait for a safe moment to cross, exactly like I was told as a child.. This rule will get someone killed... if motorcycles are Smidsey, what are 3 foot school children.. I'd like to meet the overpaid jobsworths that dreamt up this whopper..
Cheers, used your answers for my MOD 2 yesterday, brilliant thanks, passed 👍🍻
Got my mod 1 and mod 2 next week 🙆🏻♂️😎 cant effing wait
You forgot the wind questions but thanks this is really handy
Thanks - the general question "what might affect your balance on the motorbike?" we haven't heard asked for many years. Maybe it was due to part of the answer mentioning drink and drugs :-)
Thanks
Very good spot and reaction from the student Would he get any faults for not doing lifesavers when pulling away?
It certainly would be good to know what is going on around you before moving. What about the impatient people behind who may take an opportunity to try to get through despite the situation?
Thank you! I keep rewatching the video
What would the best course of action be in the bus situation, did the learner do the right thing?
Anticipation is the message here. Another scenario could be the bus decides to move out, so spot the risk, including the on-coming car which affects how far you can move to the right, slow down, and be prepared to stop. It was a bit of a "reaction" from the student.
True for both cars and motorcycles. Intersections are so dangerous because of this. Even a regular pick-up truck can hide a full sized sedan. Patience saves the day.
Thanks for great explanation, super useful. Is it necessary to indicate at @3:09 onwards? Other road users may interpret it as lane change.
We are signalling right at this time because lane 2 goes both ahead exit 2 AND right exit 3, so we are telling people which of those directions we are going to take.
@@3countiesmotorcycletrainin787 Thank you, all clear now. By the way, I just had my MOD2 earlier this week and this video has helped me a lot with getting out of test centre.
Glad it helped.
This give give me much information about driving
The best on TH-cam! Thank you Sir!
Same applies for cars indicating on roundabouts or to pull in to the road you’re trying to turn out of. Never trust their signal until they’ve started turning or stopped. Rather have some impatient driver get annoyed vs be in a collision!
Thanks for the video. Mod 1 soon
Wearing hi viz when the van driver didnt see u? van driver will be going to court
I had an ambulance tailgate for my 2 miles. He didn't even have his lights on.
Best and most concise yet thankyou👍
Glad it helped
Just passed this afternoon with no minors. Thanks so much 👍
Shocking behaviour. I wonder how the roads would be if you had to have a m/c licence for X years before you could drive with four wheels?
Crazy
Thank you for helping me pass! 👍👍
Happy to help!
Pedesterians that Jaywalk should get fined. Its illegal your putting yourself at risk and others. Just like 1:05
No such thing as jaywalking in the uk
Just wondering what you say if your bike is shaft drive no chain or belt, ie honda shadow vt750. Thanks.
There isn't a DVSA question for shaft drives. If you turned up on such a bike, as the examiner only asks 2 questions about the bike he would either pick a different one or else say "IF your bike had a chain how would you....etc."
There's a lot of hate by drivers of H2, but I would like to remind drivers that the only reason H2 exists is because drivers as a whole have not been driving responsibly around delicate unprotected human beings. In dense urban places like London, drivers are guests as most people walk or take public transportation. So stop running people over.
Obviously these drivers had crap instructors
I find that I do more rear obs when riding slowly. Needed them most when moving to position 3 in the road and get overtaken by a fast moving bike.
Wow 😮
I would explain to the driver the obstruction, i.e., parked cars were on their side of the road, and I have right of way in no uncertain terms 😤
New rules are absolutely moronic
