that was around € 272. today that does not sound that much, but it must have been quite a lot of money back then. I really like the VU meters that the TC-K88 also has. I'm not fond of the mechanical buttons on the TC-K60. For that matter I like the TC-K80R or TC-K88 better. All great accomplishments at the time. Thanks for sharing!

that's most likely related to the fact that FAT32 only allows files of 2 GB. I have not used this camera for long. It's a real nice camera with a 20x lens and native cards. But I prefer my PMW-EX1, although I have not used that in years. The PMW splits the recordings in multiple file automatically.

I'm not a radio type of guy, but this is one of the best (and sort of afforable) ones. I also owned the CRF-V21 which is really, really cool. But also very expensive (thousands of euros) and huge. The ICF-SW77 is portable and you can get it at a (sort of) reasonable price.

First of all: I'm not an expert. I just tried this and it worked for me. My main point was to clean the membrane itself because a lot of filth had accumulated (I bought it from a smoker). In the process I also cleaned all other surfaces. But the point was to clean the moving parts because filth will make it heavier and therefor more difficult to move. Good luck!

I think this was because I inserted it. Then it first makes a round to get it to the laser unit, which is at the back on the left. That is why it goes through all the numbers and it stops at the position I've inserted the CD.

and also really beautiful. the most beautiful Betamax that has been available in the Netherlands. Japan has seen a lot more Betamax recorders, some even more beautiful, but this is the one to have!

Hi, you can simply connect it to the analog CINCH and or optical SPDIF. However, the input is set to one of the two. That can only be controlled via the AU bus. I know it works with a TA-D905 connected to the AU bus, I'm not sure if another Sony amplifier connected to the AU bus would also work. So it shoudl work with just one of the 2 inputs.

@@wakyon90 yes, you can. as explained using the 2x Cinch for left / right (red/white) connectors like all analog equipement is using and/or an optical SPDIF input. Since you can not select the input, it's best if you're amplifier has both.

pre-out should work (if the SDP-D905 is set to the analog input, which can only be done with the matching TA-D905 amplifier). you can tweak the sound, but if it improves is subjective. For me the huge visualization is enough reason to include this in a set. Since it's midi format it's only 35.5 cm wide, so not compatible with the normal 43 cm width.

I just got a Mackie Quad EQ and have successfully hooked it up to the Denon for visualization (CPU seems stronger than 4k player for spectrum analyzer part), but haven't connected it to the amp yet to check out the sound. Thus I asked out of curiously regarding this unit- 2 birds with one stone. I guess its a relative question. Thanks for your reply.

standing in line in an amusement park is also a waste of time, but if there is no line and you can visit everything without delay, lots of the charm would be taken away. the anticipation is part of the joy. Perhaps you can change your mindset to: I know this takes 30 seconds to load, but then I'll enjoy my favorite music on one of the most expensive CD players Sony ever made...

After 24 years that can be expected. Especially since CD, SACD, DVD are all dead and buried for a while, it makes sense support stops somewhere. Audio is no longer the industry it was, Sony is more about PlayStation then audio these days. If you buy a random piece of equipment today, how long is it supported? Can it even be repaired? In most of the cases it's not posible to repair and it's written off. Or the vendor goes bankrupt, the cloud service no longer works and the equipment that you bought no longer functions. It would be really nice if you can get these beauties repaired, but it has not been economically viable for quite some years :-(

Sony has released software (the Catalyst browse suite) to view and copy video files. That takes care of the directory structure issue. I just copy all files to one directory manually and that works fine too. Sony also has SxS card readers like the SBAC-US10, SBAC-US20 and SBAC-US30 (different USB standards and speeds). These come with the Memory Media Utility that you can still download (pro.sony/ue_US/support-resources/SBAC-US30/software/00250464).

typically a good way to get market value is to put in on an auction site like for instance eBay or a more specialized site like Catawiki.
