Yeah of course! Honestly going through top logs and looking at when players use or hold cd's is one of the best ways to improve, it's one of the main things that I do when prepping for a new mythic boss. With that said, I'll post my logs below for you to have a look through but I will also post the top Windwalker's logs for the fight. I'd always advise looking through the top 3 to 5 players as they will have more than likely 'perfected' the fight. There's always room for improvement; off the top of my head I can count 5 things I could have done better on that fight to have played better! Morning :) Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Windwalker - in terms of a simple rotation guide I can look into making a video on Single Target and AOE rotations in the future but for now I can give some advice that will hopefully help! The first thing that I think is key with Windwalker is that we don't strictly have a rotation. We follow more of a priority list. The best place to see this priority list is PeakofSerenity - it is a Monk-run website with some amazingly helpful information on how to play the spec and I always suggest this to any player wanting to improve. If you go to this link: www.peakofserenity.com/tww/windwalker/pve-guide/ and scroll down there is an 'AOE' and 'Single Target' priority list that is really useful to learn from. I have spent more time than I'd like to admit looking through these lists! It's a really good place to start. To answer your questions: 1) Do you hold the gust strike for another wave? If you are referring to Strike of the Windlord then yes. If you are running a dungeon for example and are left with one mob in a pack and this cooldown comes back up and you are 10 seconds away from pulling the next big pack then I would always recommend holding this ability. It is extremely more effective on multiple targets - Especially when running the Rushing Jade Wind Talent! 2) When in AOE mode do you spam Tiger Palm? So this is a tougher question to answer that isn't as straightforward. As a Shado-pan monk, we do want to prioritise tiger palm a lot more than we had previously. However, you don't want to neglect your BIG AOE abilities like Fists of Fury and Spinning Crane Kick. I tend to weave in tiger palms in between all of my chi-spender abilities to constantly keep energy ticking to full as you ideally don't want to be sat on max energy. However, this gets more complicated when we proc a SHADOW Wisdom of the Wall. This is by far our strongest Wisdom of the Wall proc as it does massive AOE when you fire all your flurry strikes as a result of spending energy (tiger palm). This slightly changes the priority of tiger palm to then almost be stronger than fists of fury in some cases, just to get the shadow flurry off. There is a section on the website that I linked that does go over SHADOW Wisdom of the Wall better than I do so definitely read it. Hopefully, those answers and the website help you out, let me know if you have any more questions, I'd be happy to help as best as I can :)

From what I’m aware a lot of AOE purges like arcane torrent do not currently work on the void emissary. Whether this is intended or not is another question. Shaman’s purge might work but i’m not 100% sure (No Shaman I’ve seen have purged one).

In pure single target you should prioritise Rising Sun Kick over Fists of Fury - one of the main reasons for this is that its our highest overall damage ability in ST encounters (which Rasha'nan should be treated as) so you want to be casting it as often as possible. Another key reason to cast it before FoF is that each RSK provides a stacking 3% damage buff for 12 seconds (Acclamation talent) so you want to have as many stacks of this buff running throughout the fight (Plus it increases the FoF damage). It does seem counterintuitive to not prioritise a crit buff and cooldown reduction but its just how it works out numbers wise. I highly recommend checking out www.peakofserenity.com/tww/windwalker/pve-guide/ . It is an amazing site with tons of info - particularly for your question it shows ability priority lists for ST and AOE. I hope that helps :)

The affix timer actually stops counting down until the next spawn when you’re not in combat :) it’s not so bad with Touch of Death ;)

@@TheDublord21 I’m sure you don’t suck! There’s always room for improvement though, I don’t play perfectly and notice things I can do better all the time. I’d suggest first comparing talents and seeing if there is anything I use that you don’t - there’s always a reason I run a certain talent. I highly recommend Rushing Jade Wind (It really good in packs - instantly sets you to 5 mark of the crane stacks so your spinning crane kick always hits like a truck). You can also look at my ability tracker at the bottom to see if there’s anything im doing differently! If you have a log you want me to look at I’d be happy to point out anything I think could be improved on :)

@@Nicternus No I’m not, I’m actually just using Tidyplates and I’ve never made a single change to the addon so it’s just baseline. I really like it and it doesn’t eat any frames!

That being said, i see you using fang trinket, is that just cause its the best youve gotten so far? I have fist weapon/contract and sims are telling me to use it but i wanna make sure im not missing any hidden tech.

Definitely use those! I wish it was hidden tech, I have been shunned by the loot gods so I am using the best that I’ve got 😂 always follow the sims :)

Yeah, of course! The weakaura link is: wago.io/RaidAbilityTimeline The only changes I have made are the 'group scale' setting in the 'group' tab. I currently have it set to 1, but it can be changed to as small or large as needed. :)

Hey there, that is a great question! I will try to make a video going through all my macros later this week as it will be easier to explain what I use through that medium, however, I'll go through them in this comment for you too! (It might be quite a long reply) 1) A non-cancel macro for Fists of Fury and Spinning Crane Kick. Since we no longer use Serenity and have switched to Hastewalking we no longer want to cancel our FoFs as the damage ramps as the cast goes on. With Spinning Crane Kick, you used to be able to cast other spells during its channel however, since TWW they changed this and now other spells will cancel the channel - we really don't want this channel cancelled! So - how to avoid this? A macro on your main abilities. #showtooltip /stopmacro [channeling:Fists of Fury] /stopmacro [channeling:Crackling Jade Lightning] /stopmacro [channeling:Spinning Crane Kick] /cast *Insert Spell Name Here* The abilities I use this for are Tiger Palm Fists of Fury Strike of the Windlord Spinning Crane Kick Rising Sun Kick Blackout Kick Whirling Dragon Punch All you need to do is change *insert name here* for these 7 abilities and you're good to go (EACH ONE REQUIRES AN INDIVIDUAL MACRO). This will help break any bad habits of cancelling your channels. 2) Vivify Vivify is extremely strong in this expansion, especially with the talent 'Vivacious Vivification' and the Shado-Pan talent 'Protect and Serve'. You can heal upwards of 30% of your health on an instant cast every 15 seconds. #showtooltip /cast [@yourname] Vivify (Replace yourname with your character name) 3) Tiger's Lust This ability is amazing. It can speed you up and remove roots and snares. But what is key is it can do the same for other players. I use a mouseover macro for this spell so that you can hover it over a nameplate or a character model you see in trouble - this ability is really beneficial to use on classes like priests or DKs that lack movement speed. #showtooltip /cast [@mouseover,help][@target,help] Tiger's Lust 4) Ring of Peace Honestly, RoP is underutilized by a lot of monks, when really it is one of our best CC's. It acts as both an interrupt and a safe zone for players which can be the difference between a wipe and surviving a crazy pull. However, you do need to be getting it down exactly when you need it so the macro changes this spell to a mouseover so it instantly casts when you left-click. #showtooltip /cast [@cursor] Ring of Peace 5) Detox Similarly to Tiger's Lust, this spell can save lives. Not many classes can remove poisons or diseases so it is fairly important to run and have a way to get it on a player ASAP. (I will usually hover this over party frames to remove the debuff rather than over the player model) #showtooltip /cast [@mouseover,help][@target,help] Detox Right well that about covers the majority of the most important macros I have. I do run a few others that are more personal preference but these are the key ones I think every Windwalker should run to really improve. Hopefully, my explanations helped! If anything didn't quite make sense look out for a video later this week on Windwalker macros!!
