Jackal Howl In Fog Storm | golden jackal howling, coyote sound
GOLDEN JACKALs - like wolves - love to howl in foggy weather; a form of communication, most likely in order to locate its pack.
Golden Jackals are territorial animals. Members of pack often patrol the territory they inhabit and.. no Intruder from other packs is allowed.
In addition to warning howlings, jackals mark their territory with scent and ground scratching.
FOG - STORM
Such foggy conditions occur very quickly, especially in moist forested valleys and lake areas.
As the air cools during the longer night the relative humidity increases - dry air moves over warm water, which can result in to fog formation.
And that same fog sticks around until the mid morning hours before the sun finally breaks through the clouds.
On a foggy night, the visibility drops below 10 meters.

I think I can not do it there without netting (barrier) and especially without fire going on. In daytime, it's the most peaceful place in the world - no different than any other habitat, but at night time.. That's the time when you start to feel wildlife&nature fully.. and that's what I love there In fact, some parts seem very slow for a non - talking video. I had to compose it this way because of the subtitles - especially between 10:30 - 15:00 mins. Anyways, I believe I'll be posting the full video (4 tracks together) with better edits in a few months, Thx and all the best Mark.

Great video I have a question, I did one camping night in my city. I started to hear the golden jackals near us.we were 5 people. Is it safe to stay? We tried to make noise and to have many lights next to our fire. Is there any chance that these golden jackals attacking us in our future camping plans? We did it in a national park, based on the information, we only have golden jackals and striped hyena

    • @withnature250
      @withnature250 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Ibrahem. Certainly I am not an environment scientist or biologist, so I can only share my experiences. Except the golden jackals, I don't know anything (like hyenas) about the jackal species. I've spent quite adventurous nights (the last one was my record of 11 nights) in the area where golden jackals live... Honestly, there was no single threat or agression. Right, time to time they approach the camping area (especially in my 1st camp in the area it was hellish scary for me) but that's it - they're curious animals and their howling sounds so scarry for those hearing it for the firs time. But then, whenever I camp there, I really want to see them around the campsite (of course to get some footage as well) and their howlings sound like a kinda music anymore... 5 People: you do not have to worry about anything. My experiences say two people and more is something real deterrent to wild mammals.. as being there as a single person (I believe) can always encourage them. Wild mammals are more clever than we can imagine. So, during night time your best friend is a campfire. Shortly: the golden jackals are beautiful animals, - the least aggressive of the jackal family - no need to afraid of them, they'll never attack. And if they encounter (especially if they have little pups in their den) danger from human being, as soon as possible they'll change their location, which can cause them lots of trouble with another jackal pack. They are peaceful and magnificent animals; enjoy their beautiful howlings..

Ohhh, soooo beautiful !!! , when checked the channel i have seen also 3 more videos that did not appear before. You have made something very beautiful, they look totally like professional docummentary, but like more sincere, great edition, transmits the peace of the place, the sounds of the night, the behavior of animals (it is so extraordinary to can have recorded those jackals, the whole pack; the wild boars, the snakes, frogs, lizards, wasps, even the night rat :) , and a turtle! :D . And the comments that you added are very interesting and help to understand these animals more. It transmits so well the nature and fauna of the place, that i recommend you to share it with the official local office about nature of the zone, i think it could help them for more people know these animals, this zone and respect it and protect it more. It is beautiful homage to the place, lovely and sincere. And about bushcraft and survival skills, i'm happy to see that you know many traditional techniques, you are well prepared for these journeys. The leaves under tent is something not too many people knows, and is essential to avoid lose energy and to maintain dry the place. The fishing line with bell made me smile :) , it is great idea, and the line with multiple baits too. And the birdhouses, a very noble gesture. About water filter, you can even create a portable one, with different layers of rocks and sand, separated with fabric clothes layers, all inside big plastic bottle. All videos transmit brilliantly your love and respect for nature. They were precious to be watched. To me, watch someone who respects nature in this great way, returns me faith in humanity, because i have lived in nature, playing at river with snakes, wildboards, frogs, and all kind of animals since i had 2 years, and i have seen how animals are, their kindness and inocence and fragility. And i have a gift for you. Every December, i like to buy one or two books, usually one related with drawings :) to learn to draw better, and one related with survival techniques, the one i bought last december is a gem, and i recommend you, i copy here the title: Colin Towell - Survival handbook essential skills for outdoor adventure - Ed Blume (o Ed penguin random house, depends the country). Colin has been survival teacher during 40 years, at SAS and at SERE school, and the book has thousand of illustrations, for everything, and describes absolutely almost all techniques that exist, in all conditions :) Wish all the best for you and your beloved ones, stay safe, and enjoy nature. And if you have some suggestion for a drawing, write me

3 More videos: somethimes I’m receiving comments that are written more than a year ago. They usually appear in my notifications, but never in the video comment section; seems the technology is having difficulties too.. Thanks for your long letter Ray. The time I’ve spent on these "4 part videos" was enormous. It was like: try/do something of your best.. or do nothing. I still have the old camera - couldn’t change it mainly coz of the pandemy - so the photage was poor again; and if I've had new one, it wouldn’t be much different because I’m not even an amateur videographer:)) so, just did my best.. Wilderness (while camping) is the only place I'm playing with the camera.. so I believe results are not too bad for such inexperience:) It is really not easy to spend nights in such a territory, but somehow I manage to deal with it. Even filming is easier than being there at night time..(you know, the one about 2 years ago failed.. and had to leave earlier.:) So, I always feel good at the end of each succesfull camping. Despite all these difficulties I can honestly say that spending time in such a place is one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had in my entire life. Sure, without the golden jackals nothing would be such special.. One of the purposes of the video is to make understand wildlife better.. as we all suffer from insufficient knowledge about living things in wilderness. Less we know, less we care..Today we are so disconnected from wildlife and nature.. unfortunately, tomorrows are about to be too late before we finally decide to take care.. Yes, editing of the videos is not bad, which took the largest part of the work. Can’t say the way I’m camping is a real bushcraft but it contains something of it. Placing some grass/leaves under the tent bottom (which they call “bough bed”) helps a lot in summer season - as it provides comfort) and it has much more benefits during winter time, which I did not try yet. The fishing line; I’ve seen and learned it when I was kid and since then I love fishing this way, love it more than the known fishing rod. Filtering water was my very first try, which worked out well. Hope that 2 birdhouses can be a good shelter for some little birds.., I know there are some good survival books out there so thanks for advicing Colin Towell’s book, I may consider it when I find free. Every survival book writter has his/her own opinion with informative tips and of course we can benefit from their experiences. Ray. As a person who has been in nature and knows it well, you can easily understand meaning of what is like to spend time in wilderness. I really wish more and more people spend their time in natural environments which is the main way to understand it better. In order to understand and enjoy it in full, no - verbal or visual -technological device can replace the experience we gain by being in nature.

I will try to upload one day a song i made titled "Strings of life" (has violins, synths and percussion, is very special), dedicated to nature, with some of the photos of my travels. Yesterday i was exploring a dry river between forests and canyons, just to disconnect of this mad world that has forgotten the true meaning of life: the love, the respect and the mutual care. Thank you for staying there, even if leaving far, you are like a brother, and your purposes, your videos and your love for nature, inspires me and sends me good energy to continue trying to do good things in the world, to never lost faith in good people, thanks friend, wish you great week, try to go to nature as much you can, no important is long travels or short ones, every element of nature is already a treasure of life.

@@ateardropfromthesoulofadragon Some busy days here with job and other things, so finally it is time to respond. As you said madness is ruling the world, and now with the war that occurred in Ukraine. So sad to witness that we the umanity is soo selfish and greedy.. Glad to hear that time to time you enjoy the green environments and glad to hear some of my words are releasing positive energy - even though I often complain:) Right, there are so many good people who really take care of our world, but unfortunately the number of those who doesn't see the realities is much higher. Hope in the following few years everything will radically change to positive, before it gets too late.

@@withnature250 I hope so too. But humanity is everyday more distanced of nature, people has everything at the moment, easily and they don't value what they have around, what is not known is not valued.

Very strange, i know the called dry storms, but, no sound? . I lived twice that a lightning bolt hit the ground some meters near me, and the sound was terrible, and the electric feeling over skin, unforgetable. I also know that forests have many mysteries, unsolved, this video reminded me the ignis fatuum legend

    • @withnature250

Can't believe you've had such an experience with the lightning. Can imagine the sounds but getting or at least feeling the energy of it's electric must be shocking.. This was my 1st experience with such a phenomenon. I just remember a kinda flshlight for a moment that I thought someone is coming to me (which actually was impossible in midnight in such a place) and after couple minutes of listening the moves in the wood I did noy pay atention to what it could be. I've realised it only when I got back home - while checking the shots I've captured. The weather was clear and absolutely no sound. I've spent so many hours to find something on the internet, but nothing. I still think it was a kinda electrical little lighning formed in the moisture.. but of course I can never be sure - even the science has no sufficient information about those phenomenons. Wish the camera was set a bit to the side it came from:)..Anyways, I'll be keeping the original photage and maybe one day I can meet someone who can tell the scientific truth.. Thanks for the great conversation I'll see you soon in your channel. All the best.

@@withnature250 Yes, lightnings indeed are my "friends" too :) . First one i lived, i was exploring a mountain under soft rain, then started storm, and i found a cave for shelter, i was drinking a alluminium can, i left the drink beside outside with my backpack, while return to clean cave. When a sound .... lighning bolt hit the drink can :) . Since then, i put everything metalic far far far from where i stay :) . And the one that hit very near i was superlucky, i returned with mountain bike from exploring a river, and i had no shoes, and bolt it hit ground near, when i stopped to drink water, i was stand up, and electricity passed to ground.

So cute, and also so difficult to record this video, they usually are very afraid of humans. I think is calling family.

I was so lucky to capture this. Their lair was just on the other side of the lake (just across from the campsite - about 50mt away), so the central theme of the 4-part video story was about this family with their two little cubs. I've captured it in the evening hours, probably he was giving message to it's pack members...or as you said: his two little pups show up next to him right after the howling.

@@withnature250 what most impressed me was that the did not perceive you as danger, they just felt curiosity for your presence, but no fear, animals are wise and feel when a person has no intentions to hurt them. Yes, i have been all life at nature, then many times i can understand the meaning of how they communicate

@@ateardropfromthesoulofadragon This is so right. There are so many examples when man and wild animal becomes close - even friends. They are wiser that we imagine and their sensitivity is more developed. And I felt exactly same things, especially in my last camping there. Between us there was just the lake - about 30mt - and they were so cushy all the time. I don't know wheter they remember me from my previous campings in there but I am sure I've been observed by them for some time. In my last days in there one of them even approached so close and she was so cool. I managed to film her, which is at the 4th and last part of the series - and I still do not know when I'll be able to release it, still working on it.

@@withnature250 I answer you, because i have been beside many wild animals. They have an extra sense, they perceive which are your intentions, if you want damage them or not. When they see you first time, they analyze and feel if you can be a danger, like they perceived you were in peace with nature, and only with good intentions, they trusted you

The sound at night in the woods is really amazing; it's like in the background you always have crickets, reptiles and mammals perform in front of the audience. and the moon casts its dim light onto the stage. It's is only more excited than any human performing concert..
