I love the High Elves but I really struggle using them. I put them in neat order and then it all gets messy anyway and I end up feeling really weak. I do a lot better with rush armies such as the Vampires or even Dark Elves, especially when they got sustain and no ranged units to babysit.

Setting pure melee groups to melee front has no purpose. It's for mixed groups.

Morale is a big thing in this game and one reason why I enjoy playing undead factions.

You need a good CPU, RAM and SSD for this game. Somewhere I read you also don't want corpses set to indefinite no matter how good your PC is.

Love the game but had to get rid of that goofy green outline and add vignette to make the game look less like a cartoon in comparison to WH2.

8:30 - yes, ogres are large. I think you already know that? At the unit info between their health and 'stats' you can see human icon (triangle body with circle head) and it can be either small or big, with number of models in the unit and it also shows Tier of unit on the left, if you mouse over it - it will tell you if the entity is small or large and what "body mass" it has (that value is important for charging). About first battle - I'd suggest trying to put artillery in the middle, and put your infantry in front and on flanks, not directly in front of them, but make a "window" between units so your artillery can shoot without hitting your own guys. Because it seems that putting artillery on flanks very often leave them vulnerable to fast flanking units (like sabretusks or cavalry). Also your units (at least gunners) had "skirmish mode" on, and they just ran away from charging sabretusk and left artillery as frontline. After that it happens very often - you decide if you should replenish and recruit more units or attack and capture nearby settlement turn 1. Still don't understand rant about "pan to lord", you managed to find your lord rather well through "Lords & Heroes" list, comparison with AoW4 doesn't really work - yes you can pan to your Leader there, but you still can control multiple armies. About time in RoC - for you it shouldn't be that much different, it's a smaller map and total number of factions is lower, but that only applies to AI turn taking less time; it might be different from faction to faction - some have more action and battles initially, while others are just "chilling". In technology I go for infrastructure first to build up economy, but that's just me - my armies suffer for it, it's probably not the most efficient way, diplomacy is.. optional I'd say, if you need a boost with specific faction or something else (for example Kislev gives you immunity to snow attrition). I haven't seen her campaign in RoC, so it'll be interesting to see what's the goal of her campaign is and what twist there is :)

Bit of a rough start to this one but can be recovered. Anyways recruit spearmen as the frontline as usual since they have better melee defence and few notes for the battle, dont tell the spearmen to charge/attack since they need to be standing still to brace and use the "charge defense against large". The other note is i dont recommend placing your range units on the sides cuz it lets the enemy easily pin them down so they stop shooting. Better to place the melee infrantry on the sides to prevent flanking and put all gunnery units in the middle but further back, then try and lure the enemy into the centre to form a killbox of sorts. Last note is the way to check if a unit is large or small is the little stick figure guy on the unit card just under the health bar, hover over it and it will tell you if its large or small and its unit mass

7:25 - you can see in diplomacy, it goes "faction name, strength rank, balance of power bar, number of settlements they have" - they're rank 151 and have 0 settlements, usually in this case they try to attack closest settlement with remaining army(ies) to capture it. 10:45 - moment when you declare war can be very crucial, just because you will "definitely go to war with *this* faction" doesn't necessarily mean you should just declare war on them the very moment you see them. Especially with minor factions and rogue armies, you should prepare for that and position your armies accordingly, in majority of cases you'd overwhelm your opponent with your forces and when you attack, their army will retreat, so make sure you can still capture them on that turn, because they can be very annoying with constant retreating, sacking your settlements on their way and just getting back later. 13:45 - you could get Enlag's army close like you did and then initiate battle with settlement (attacking besieger with garrison and your Enlag would assist them as reinforcement). Yes that minor skaven faction were at was with chaos dwarves and they were assisting you in battle against them. 26:20 - not sure about all units being unbreakable, it's probably just their status of morale in "prep" phase, before battle. Some of your units are unbreakable, slayers mostly (you can see 'cannonball' icon among their abilities and passives), you can also get it from items/banners/runes (runes available only for dwarves).

Surprised to see this game again, i tried it out during the steam next fest and liked it but ultimately bounced off of it since im having open world crafting game fatigue.

Wow this game has come a long way from when i 1st seen it, comes with a actually decent tutorial now. Its also interesting that the weight seems to be counted by how many item variety you carry rather than item weight it seems which it why the bottom 2 inventory rows have the over-encumbered symbol on them

Man i love this game, put 70 hours into cuz it had a steep early game learning curve. Also cuz i lost my 1st game where i demolished the hitching post without transferring over the ox effectively softlocking myself

You did good with this battle, great stuff. I don't know if it was intentional, but the way you trapped some enemies on top of the hill allowed your cannons to be able to shoot them, since the elevation allowed them to achieve line of sight. Don't mind the pyrrhic victory either the game likes to drag down the player's achievements :) 2 things that you might want to know the answer to: In the dwarf roster only the grudge throwers (catapults), quarellers, rangers (archer units) and the bolt throwers (ballista) don't require line of sight, the rest of their ranged units do! About the gyrocopters and the barge: Regular: The cheapest copter, shitton of ammo, 2 bombs, they shoot little steam bombs that do overall decent damage. Short term they are decent, long term they are great. Brimstone gun: More expensive, low ammo, 2 bombs, they have flamethrowers that do good damage against unarmored masses (they are great for goblins). Short term they are great, long term they are not so much, except if an engineer can restock their ammo. Bomber: The most expensive one, high ammo, ELEVEN bombs, they have a big caliber three shot mounted gun, decent against everything, good against single target entities. They are good throughout the whole battle, but they are more expensive. Thunderbarge. VERY EXPENSIVE BUT VERY POWERFUL, love that unit tho enough said

Good battle, Id say just for advice and it is a bit of a next step to look at the enemy units, see what the dangerous units are and focus them down with your natural counters - your letting the reverse happen a little bit too yourself with the gyrocopters left still in range of the fire glades which just shredded them and the spirit of grugney (if you manage that you'll start being able to take on much larger heavier armies - Standing toe to toe is not always the best way to win (arguably dwarves are slow but consider perhaps (hiding everything in the trees then use the gyrocopters in your army and bomb and harass the enemy line before popping out and forming up) that kinda stuff, doesn't have to be exactly that but a none toe to toe fight, skirmishing and kiting its not what a lot of people initially think to do but is heavily effective.

Just an advice if you face an "Army" that is too strong i recommend staking your main army with a free grudge army. Remember that stacking is a thing in this game.

To recuirt more people on your airship under the name "signal relay" (sonething like that) it would allow you to move malakai while recuiting more units. Good video btw 👌

This campaign is off to a good start, you're doing well imo so far The grude settler army is for free, and will be under your command for the next 15 turns, until the current age of reckoning lasts, so make use of them until then.

Don't feel like you have to immediately do those "Recruit a new Lord" pop-up missions. Those stay around forever. A lot of times, the gold bonus they give you isn't enough to cover retaining the new Lord, especially if you don't think you need another one at the moment.
