Congratulations on your first year in Spain and all the great content you've both shared along the way. As someone who is also new to Asturias and Spain, it's been great discovering your channel and seeing someone share similar experiences and how it contrasts with a local perspective. With regard to appointments and the bureaucracy in general, I completely agree. Having to schedule everything is frustrating enough, but then waiting weeks, or sometimes months, makes it so much worse lol. Looking forward to another year (and beyond) of your videos and seeing what you two share next, especially the food related content you've got planned. With persistence, I have no doubt the channel will continue to grow. Keep it up!

Don’t be so diplomatic. Spanish bureaucracy is bad. Irremediably bad. Traditionally bad. Entrenched on a centenary culture of bad bureaucracy. There are literary Spanish classics based on this phenomenon. Speaking of classics, the classic aspiration of a Spaniard is to enter the droves of public servants to be privileged with a lifetime secure work with incredible privileges and practically no repercussions no matter what and, as a collective, with absolutely all the power. And here you have why it is so inefficient and abusive, yet somehow ends up working.😂

Looks like you guys had an awesome time in BCN. The variety of cuisines there is on another level compared to Oviedo lol. I'm definitely going to check out Flax & Kale next time I'm in BCN, I hadn't heard of it. The food looks amazing. As does the pistachio cheesecake. I like how you guys finish every plate, down to the last drop. Now that's how to enjoy a meal lol. If you want to try out some tapas next time you're there then check out La Plata if you haven't already. It's very famous and they've got some incredible tapas.

Beautiful, I love Asturias, where exactly is the city you are talking about, I can't figure it out. Sorry....

Gijon has better surrounding areas, has like 10 beaches within it´s city limits, and small charming seaside towns nearby. Oviedo is very nice really, but people tend to be more uptight and old fashioned. Gijon is a seaside city with one of the largest ports in Spain, people are more open mindend and diverse. It´s a shame you didn´t mention Aviles, it´s a smaller city, but has a surprising life in it, and a beautiful old quarter as well. We were surprised the last time we went to Asturias by Aviles. Regarding food, there is not a bad city or town in Asturias where food is not spectacular, plenty, and relatively cheap

Not to be a hater or anything but the music doesn't really work for this video. I'm writing this sitting in a hotel in Oviedo and heading to Gijón in the morning for a day trip. As much as we wanted to enjoy your own visit to that city, we struggled to get past the soundtrack. However, we'll take a look at your video comparing Gijón and Oviedo because we're interested in why you chose the latter. We've been in Oviedo two days and it's not really giving us a "live here" vibe, compared to, say, Vitoria-Gasteiz, which we visited earlier on our tour of northern Spain, scouting relocation destinations.
