Hi everyone! My name is Lucas, and I am a train enthusiast from the West Midlands and a volunteer at the Great Central Railway. I post regular content related to the railways in the UK, modern and heritage.
I tend to travel around a fair bit, meaning that all of my content will vary from place to place, and of course, I will be uploading some Train Sim World and Train Simulator Classic content when there isn't much interesting stuff going on.

In this video, I review the brand new @AvantiWestCoastRail Class 805s, taking a trip from Coventry to Birmingham New Street. I won't let much slip, but I was pleasantly surprised! Ah the loco is from Bachmann and the coaches from Hornby. If I had enough triang coaches I'd have filmed this with them as they run a lot more smoothly!
@@TheGreatWesternGuy I still run my 65 year old Tri-ang trains regularly, maybe not as much delicate detail, but robust and built to last!

I have to say that the new Class 805 are very nice trains as they have slowly come into service. The Class 807 should soon enter service in few months time.

To be honest I quite like the new Avanti West Coast Class 805 and they do look really nice. Same with the Class 807 once they have entered service.

@@TheGreatWesternGuy I thought they were amazing trains but the standard class seats need to be different as they are the same as the 390 except the addition of the table lights at tray tables.
Nice, approx 8 221 units have been acquired from Beacon Rail by a new open access operator called Wrexham, Shropshire & Midlands Railway. WSMR for short. They will operate services between London & Wrexham potentially starting in late 2025 ish!

Very informative and enjoyable video Lucas! Having become familiar with the LNER Azumas and TPE 802s it's interesting to see the similarities and differences. I see what you mean about them announcements though, hopefully that's just a quick fix. One thing's for certain, Avanti struck the perfect chords with that livery! Cheers Aadil

Great video buddy. I had a ride on the Class 805 Evero for Avanti on Monday just gone and I much prefer them to The Voyagers.
Thanks Sam! Much appreciated! Yeah same here. The ride is almost as good (the suspension is a bit on the hard side) as the voyagers, but everything else is of a much higher calibre.

Great video! I remember going inside 805001 when it was on test before they fitted seats in. I always complained about the refurb Pendolino seats being the same but the padding was bad on the Avanti aswell as no reading light. Alot of the Avanti staff did agree with me this was a bit silly but when I went inside last year inside 805003, I think it was, I was happy to see they had the reading light but the only problem is one whole plug and 2 usb sockets. Avanti thought about the reading light but I guessed that they wouldn't bother having 2 plugs. One in front of each person. Hope to ride one in public service soon as I haven't had the chance to get👍🏻

Great video, the trains look nice currently in my opinion their only downside is the limited speed(although their acceleration is great) and the plugs but other than that theyre great trains

No doubt these are more comfortable and greener. However unlike the Class 221s, I presume the new units are non-tilting. Might this mean longer journey times?
Hmm I'd say these offer a similar level of comfort, if not slightly better. Whereas as you say these are non-tilting and are currently limited to 110mph. However, I've understood that Avanti is currently trying to get either an exception or an agreement to allow these to reach 125mph. So in the short term, maybe longer travel times, but this should be solved pretty soon as far as I've understood. Thank you for watching by the way!
