what did the timing chain do for the car?

I had a 06 TSX 5AT Aspec since new and drove over 175,000 miles when it got totaled by a red light runner in 2019. Saved my kid from injury with the extra safety door bars and side airbags. Probably still be driving it today if it wasn't for the accident.
