ELECTRICAL BUSBAR SIZING
มุมมอง 15K2 ปีที่แล้ว
An electrical bus bar is defined as a conductor or a group of conductor used for collecting electric power from the incoming feeders and distributing them to the outgoing feeders. Busbars are generally made of Copper or Aluminium. An undersized busbar will result in excessive heating of the busbar under normal operating condition, leading to rise of temperature beyond permissible limits. While,...
HOW TO SIZE A CABLE !
มุมมอง 3.9K4 ปีที่แล้ว
An electrical cable is an assembly of one or more wires running side by side or bundled, which is used to carry electric current. Cables are used to connect two or more electrical devices, thus allowing transfer of electricity from one device to the other. Why is it important to size a cable correctly? If the cable is undersized it will be inadequate to carry the rated load current, resulting i...
HOW TO SIZE A TRANSFORMER !
มุมมอง 35K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Electrical transformers are used in everyday life. A transformer is a passive electrical device that is used to increase the voltage level at the power generating station (Step up) or to decrease the voltage level (Step down) for Electrical power distribution purpose. Transformer sizing is a very important step and we must make informed decisions regarding proper transformer sizing and its impa...
UNDERSTANDING ELECTRICAL LOAD SCHEDULE
มุมมอง 12K4 ปีที่แล้ว
The electrical load schedule is an estimate of the instantaneous electrical loads operating in a facility, in terms of active, reactive and apparent power (measured in kW, kVAR and kVA respectively). The load schedule is usually categorized by switchboard or occasionally by sub-facility / area. This video explains in detail the steps to be followed for the calculating the Electrical load schedu...
how did you drive a 168.4KW and 86.3KVAR out of 160KW with PF of 0.89 and Eff of 0.95 in the first row of the list in step 4?
Thanks for sharing your valuable knowledge with us. Please make a detailed video on selecting a Power transformer. 🙏
What is the earth fault current using 13.8kV systems?
what about the 85% efficiency
Is this Melson and Both equation applicable for Aluminum bus bar also?
Nice
11:58 @ Base MVA how to calculate 1 MVA
Sir, would you share your contact address like linkedin ID, please?
L2 has time .2 sec but put it behind L3 why.
Brilliant
Great video. I'm trying to find information about the minimum distance between copper bars with different potentials depending on voltage. Maybe you know where I can find this information?
Sir please please please please upload more videos
Amazingly explained Sir
Hello Sir, is this busbar calculation applicable for HV traction battery's Cell to cell and module to module busbars??
Great video
Battery sizing is direct summation of all load profiles? I saw some negative numbers for some load profiles. Why?
L2 has time .2 sec but put it behind L3 why. please reply. the channel owner will not reply.
Nice discussion & explanation..thanks
Superb Explanation ❤ any one can understand if he give some time to watch carefully ❤
Thank you so much 😀
Very precious video. I was hoping to see a summary at the end of this video and other videos.
What values you have taken to calculate ZT?
Great Thank you
Excellent video.
Very detailed and informative video of transformer sizing. It is going straight to my favorites. Please keep making more such informative videos.
If ZL = Base Load Imp / Base Impedance = 0.0886/0.16 = 0.55375 p.u.. why did you obtain 0.54367 p.u ???
Sir your content is very helpful 🙏🏻 pls make a video on selection of earthing 🙏
GREAT
Next step is to design a transformer for 362.76 KVA and get energized from the utility am i right?
Good day, many times I played this video and make research on standards, i did it bec. It's quite interesting and with clear steps of calculation just to say we can depend on!!!.so far I have doubt about the 15% voltage drop at high motor terminal. Applicable fire pump..can you please help to clarify...thank you
Very intelligent ; i cannot see this approach in my prevuous studies all things is new for me...good job man!!!
Nice, but i get lost in per unit application formula, can you share per unit fomulas, thanks
Still we will apply 6 tines starting if large motor under vfd controls?
Make EARTHING video
Good job great ,thank you for the teach cable types topic make one video
I have watched all the tutorials in your channel. Great contribution to the engineering community. Highly appreciated...❤❤
Your all video is very valuable to electrical Engineer specially working in oil &gas, power, metal industry etc. Please upload the video for switchgear sizing, earthing and lightning calculation, EDG sizing etc
This is so good! Thank you sir.
Very good one...thank you sir
This is so nice and helpful. Great effort sir.
Do upload more design related videos about motors /cable tray/Ups selection and sizing as well, great explaination
Excellent 👍
Accurately explained sir thank you
Please post a video for how size a breaker/switchgear
Too good sir kindly make a video on earthing calculation for plant
Thanks for your efforts for this valuable content.. Also is there anything left after the battery sizing is done like calculating charger capacity, ups sizing etc..
Great informative content.. Waiting for part 2..
Thanks for your comment. Part - 2 of the video will be uploaded shortly
A very clear explanation, many many thanks for your efforts and concepts. Could you please explain how to size a Battery bank based on this battery load profile.. Also sizing of an Emergency Diesel generator. Also what are the protection systems used for transformer protection and busbar protection..
Thanks. Glad that you found the video useful. Please let me know your comments on my other videos. Please do subscribe to my channel and share with your friends. Videos on the above topics are under preparation and will be uploaded shortly.
Crystal Clear explanation, very happy for your concepts.. Could you please explain how to size a Battery bank based on the battery load profile.. Also sizing of an Emergency Diesel generator. What are the protection systems involved at the transformer protection..

I have doubt on how you calculated the final impedance, since both the impedances are parallel, the formulae must be Z1*Z2 by Z1+Z2 na.. Remaining everything is crystal clear for me.. Thanks for your efforts..
Thanks for comments. I have checked the sum of parallel impedance Z2 = ZM II ZL, and it has been correctly calculated as Z1*Z2 by Z1+Z2 Z2 = 1.57833*0.54367/ (1.57833+ 0.54367) = 0.40438 p.u
i think coeffecient k1 is mistakenly calculated. if e=10mm and a=120mm then e/a=0.0833, therefore, k1 should be 1.76 or 1.8?
Thanks. Yes, you are correct. The value of e/a has been erroneously calculated as 0.12 instead 0.08. Hence value of K1 will have to be changed accordingly. Glad that you found the video useful.
