This is one of the cheaper options on Amazon. Great choice if you don’t want to break out a torch or don’t have one.

Great video. Thanks
Anyone else have trouble with the tight space between the cat. And frame it bent my upstream sensor? Thinking on wedging a section of exhaust pipe in between where it won’t bend the tip again. Thoughts? I have a 98 1500 4x4
Right on dude, thanks for this video. I'm watching it almost A DECADE LATER LOL. My '98 1500 5.9L has been having idle issues and research has led me to O² sensors and this video. The idle issues are sputtering and sometimes dying, RPM drop, and a sucking/hissing sound as well as acceleration weakness and backfiring. Hopefully changing the sensors will be the solution.
Are you getting any CEL codes?
I just ordered 13.5 shocks to raise my 04 sportster 1200 cause it was lowered and I kept shredding the rear tail light wiring harness.
Not a bad idea man.
Great post, glad that I found out where the little shim went as I thought it was some kinda contact that had fallen out. Thanks
Glad it helped man ✊🏼
I have a P0133 code sensor 1 bank 1 slow responce, need to replace sensor this will help a ton thank you! If you know any videos on cutting corrosion and extending the wiring harness to the battery terminals that would be stellar.
Where was the downstream 02 sensor, you mentioned it but never pointed it out.
It’s after the catalytic converter on the exhaust pipe.
@@scottballz6284 No no it's not at least not on my 95 5.2 3 wheel drive. I removed the factory cat because the ceramic broke up and was plugging the muffler.installed a aftermarket cat from Rock Auto, although different it also has only 1 02 bung. In fact I have yet to find a factory style cat that has 2 02 bungs, I figured I was missing something and looked for an 02 harness downstream it did'nt and never did have one. I also installed a new muffler and intermediate pipe to the tailpipe. You sure you replaced a downstream 02 sensor on your truck?I did this all about a month ago, I just turned over 152000km I bought the truck about 6 month's ago with 134500kms it's almost completely rust free.
I just use hydraulic angle wrenches
That’ll work for sure 👍🏼
Still one of the best TH-cam videos for replacing O2 sensors on pre-2000 Rams. The upstream O2 sensor is definitely a bitch to replace. I have a 1999 5.2L 1500 Ram, and it's been stalling during acceleration and running extremely rich. I hope replacing the upstream and downstream O2 sensors will correct the issue. This video really helps. Thanks for making it very clear.
My man ✊🏼
Can you run 3 running brake light wire into the 1 main wire?
I’m not sure
Will this work on 99 v6?
I’m not sure.
Ummmm ur not supposed to use penetrating oil or any oil on or near ur Catalitic converter... heat. Not oil to release
I like to live dangerously. I also jay walk sometimes 💀
Where can I find that pig tail? I have a 06 883 that some one butchered, trying to re run the rear wiring
I would check eBay or maybe jpcycles. Worse case scenario, I’m sure a dealership could source it for ya
Good call on replacing the Ujoint also, since you're that deep into it. I did the same.
Yeah man! I always try to knock out as much as possible when I have things apart. Just good practice 👍🏼
Couldn't you just burp it manually instead of the airlock? The pressure release will do it at a certain amount of pressure from the co2. I'm wanting to age mead in bulk but I'm short on space and primary is plastic bucket not good for aging. Would the keg work for that?
Manual burping vs airlock
how did you move the outside wire covering? it dont slide easy
I’m not quite sure which outside covering you’re taking about.
I had to dig through quite a few videos to come across this gem! Thank you for helping a fellow 2nd gen owner from breaking the trim trying to rip it out.
Glad it helped man 👍🏼
Hello great video. Did your check engine light clear or did you have to clear it with a scanner. Thanks
It turned off on its own 👍🏼
Sweet. I hope mine does after I replace mine. Thank for the video it will make it easy for me to replace it.
@@scottballz6284 Hey Scott I just changed mine out today. How many miles do you think it took to clear the alarm. My buddy has a scanner but I want it to clear on its own. Thanks.
@@Ron-yf9jl I’m pretty sure mine went off before 10 miles or so
Thanks for the effort and data- much appreciated
thanks men great video
I have 1999 5.9 same issues crack dash, power seat fail, bad gas mileage dead miss that came and left after Seafoaming, intermittent AC, still love my old truck
my truck doing exactly the same thing. I just don't know if I should replace the bearings or the whole hub assembly.
When I replaced mine, it came as the whole hub. I guess check to see if you have the option or not. Im pretty sure it’s not a pressed bearing so you may have to get the whole assembly. Worth looking into though.
Instead of waiting for a buddy to tell you you should use gear oil in your primary, it would be faster to look in your manual Didn't check date, you've probably already found out since this is 4yrs old
Hi Scott, great vid's thank you. What size tyre have you got under that wide glide fender? I have a 2012 wide glide with standard 4.5" rim and 180/60 17 tyre, and wanting to put a 200/55 17" tyre on 6" rim
I kept the stock fat Bob tire size on 180/70 B16 MC/81H
I think if you went as big as you want you run a lot of risk of rubbing and shorting out your rear wires for your brakes and turn signals
I'm trying to connect 4 wire trail led lights to my 2008 sportster where there 3 wires. Help.
What color are the 4 wires and what do they control?
@@scottballz6284 white- neutral Yellow- turn signals Red- brake light Black- tail light
@@lukaszkoczen my guess is you’re going to have to splice your turn signal wiring from the harness to your turn signal wire in the light. It might work, it might not. To me it sounds like it may not be compatible but give it a shot and see if it works
Where can I find the red gas caps and speedomiter setup?
I painted everything myself
How about actually removing a panel while we are watching.
How about no roger
Thank god someone else with a single cab so I can know for sure the speaker size.
Haha 🤘🏼
Thanks, my truck is doing the exact same thing. Getting them replaced soon. Lucky I have a couple tickmin spares
Haven’t show us how to put the whole housing back in and tighten it to the handlebar. I found that very challenging 😞
Thanks. Helpful. I was looking for how to remove the trim piece from the seatbelt to access the bolt. It looks like it slides down from the top.
Bro this just happened to me two days ago. I did everything you said. And Done!!!! Lots of thanks!!!!
Awesome man! Glad to be able to help.
Very informative. I wish you had shown how you got that extra wiring to fit inside the housing. Pretty tight in there!
I pretty much just folded up the wiring and zip tied it back in the way it was. It was definitely a little more of a tight fit but I was able to move the wire around so everything would go back together nice and tight. I was just very careful not to pinch the wires.
You sir are the man! Thanks so much!
Hahaha glad I could help. Happy brewing 🤘🏼
I cought on to the metal bracket👍 my plunger was stuck in the housing. I tried to pull it out to clean & lube. It came all the way out "completely"☺ spring & all. I put the spring & plunger back in. Now my brake pedal works again. I'm going to have to replace the fbs. But after watching your video I feel a whole lot more confident about doing it myself. Thanks Bro.
No worries man, I’m glad I could help.
Your videos are great and very informative. Sorry about the typo!
Thank you for your quick response. Your videos are great. You are girl and very informative. Rffr
Is this the same or close to how to replace a switch on a 2003 883 hugger? You da Man 👍👍👍
Yup, should be very similar
Hey Scott I have a wiring question would you mind messaging on FB about it?
What about the downstream that you mention?
Hey Scott, hope you can help me. I have the exact same bike and I’m trying to install the original brake light, the thing is I get the running light, plate light but no break light, neither when I hit front or rear, could it be any switch? I’m getting a headache from this...
Pull your brake lever from the handle bars and push the switch in manually. See if you get any action there first. A lot of times your lever isn’t making contact with the switch. That’s the easiest place to start before you get the multi meter out and start tracing everything back, which is zero fun 😒
@@scottballz6284 it worked! Only with the front brake, still nothing with the rear though. Thanks for the quick reply
@@petewylde4985 ok good, so your front brake switch is the problem. Now hold in your brake switch in the front and press the rear brake pedal and see if you get anything. If not, that rear brake is most likely shot. I actually have a video of replacing the front brake switch on my channel also. It’s pretty simple really, just a few little things inside the housing you need to take note of. If the little nipple on the switch isn’t worn out like mine was then you may not even have to replace it. You may just have to realign your brake lever.
How do I remove the bolts on the seatbelt
You need a t-50 socket and a ratchet wrench
Scott Ballz thank you
Doing my 99 right now. I used a 22mm tight fit. Crazy how that’s the driver side upstream when it’s on the passenger side.
Isn’t the orange and brown the turn signals? Lol
the turn signals are black and violet wires and have there own wiring clips if I remember correctly. Then again, this was a while ago I made this video. I’m sure if you wanted to you could find the diagram on an HD forum if you needed it.
good vid, great detail but you dident touch on how exacally the swtich is oreintated and how the meatal bracket holds the switch, i do belive mine is bent , is hard it seems to find a vid showing this, wires coming out of switch face up or off the side?
Once you get in there it’s pretty easy to figure out orientation. Best thing to do is take pics as you go so you can go back and reference it later on. Just take your time
Dude, your sound effects are spot on with what I hear on my 03 Ram1500. I guess its time for wheel bearings at 196k miles on it. Haha
Hahaha glad the sound effects helped man. It’s a pretty easy job for the most part if you’re handy with a wrench. Lots of vids on the process too. Good luck 👍🏼
I have a 2000 ram 1500 5.2L sport and I was able to use O2 sensor socket right to 3/8 socket above catalytic converter. Advanced sold me the wrong one too he said his system showed 4 02 sensors but there's only 2 the upstream one has gray pigtail terminal with slots at 90 degrees and the downstream is black with one slot at like 75 degrees unless someone messed with all the wiring
What symptoms did your truck have? Did you replace both o2 sensors? Thanks for the info.
Ipro Fox rough idle running rich, hesitation accelerating, both when cold. Symptoms mostly went away when engine warm
How did the beer turn out buy soaking the wood chips and cocoa nibs turn out doing it yhat way

@@scottballz6284 i am thinking about making a chocolate oatmeal Stout
Kberry1249 sal sounds delicious! I used to toast my oats In the oven when I made my oatmeal stout. It definitely gives it a nice oatmeal cookie flavor to it. Just make sure you let them cool before you add it to your mash, otherwise it can raise the temperature of the mash.

you use the 12 or 18 inch sensor the sound went out? same symptoms in my truck. looks like you went with the 18?
