Running the Rubicon Trail from Tahoma to the Springs
Cold world hustlers!
Hell yeah
great video!
What did you do to fix? Mines pretty messed up in several places too thinking of doing the whole core support and passenger apron
I plated and sleeved that spot
@@ianlennox4633 thank you man. still hoping for that walk around vid
Taking the bypass and easy lines...
Nice video. I did Fordyce to the first water crossing. Almost actually. Some built rigs were coming back up and said not to go down due to snow. Good times. 2021 zr2 on 34 swampers with a 2.5 inch lift and 4.56 regear.
Good music. Love Bush
Did you use the LCE high boost kit?
No. Pieced it together myself. Used SC and Haltech elite 750 from SNP
@@ianlennox4633 how do you like the haltec on a street truck? Driveability and mpg similar to stock? Any regrets going sc vs. Turbo? I’m considering a low boost sc setup with stock ecu for simplicity but curious about a haltec if it can improve the driveability/reliability on the street.
@@shawnbeaty5984 drivability is great. No issues once you get it tuned properly and all dialed in. MPG is lower compared to NA stock and when I had it in low boost on the stock ECU. Best I've seen is 13mpg, but I also have 35s, armor, dual cases, and a bunch of other mods so it would probably be better with less of a built truck. A turbocharger would be better if you could fit an intercooler. The supercharger is nice for the fact you don't really have to deal with any extra fabrication. More of a bolt-on option. Turbo versus SC both have their pros and cons, but a turbo setup with a standalone ECU would definitely put my setup to shame power-wise.
Where can I find some more information on that dark red first gen taco. What rear bumper is he running?? Great vid!
That's mine. Rear bumper is from trail gear. Build info is here: www.tacomaworld.com/threads/betterbuckleups-2000-taco-build-bs.579708/#post-19235111
Suscribed. What inch shock are you running in the rear?
10in fox 2.0 factory smooth bodys with reservoirs
1st gens all day
Impressed with the IFS ones. Mine is very similarly built. Never considered taking it through Rubicon but it seems like it could do it after seeing this. I'd probably put an Eaton front locker on it though.
Front locker, low gearing, and good driving help a lot 😁
@@ianlennox4633 I have the stock gearing (4.10) and factory rear locker on my 03. What gears would you recommend? It is my daily and tow vehicle so I wouldn't wanna go too crazy. 4:88's? I do struggle getting my boat out of the water sometimes as well so gearing would help there, too.
Getting that truck ready for back door throw down at KOH or wuzzup!
Maybe once it's on 40s and linked
@@ianlennox4633 good times. Ifs gang 🤙🏻
Hell yeah!
👍
Отлично ! Ты решил эту проблему на половину ! )))
Duuuuuuuude🤤 Amazing job!
Thanks man! 🙏
LBJ's and CV's were screaming for mercy @5:20!! ...But they held!! I assume rear lockers? or open??
Locked f&r
What wheels, size and offset on the IFS silver Taco? Any rubbing? Appreciate it
I think they're BR6 SCS wheels with 3.5-in backspacing. You have to hammer and clearance the firewall area and your fenders and flares in order to fit 295s, which he's running
🤩🤩🤩🤩
.CODA. 🤘🤘
I have a 3rz truck as well, how much did the supercharger help? thinking about doing one.
Definitely helps a lot. But I have a high boost setup with haltech ECU, injectors, water meth injection, intake & exhaust. So quite a bit more than just the SC
What bumper is on the red taco?
All pro Baja bumper
what are those mirror ?
Custom made by Kyle green fabrication
@@ianlennox4633 thanks !
35s?
Yes
Inspiring shit, boys.
I'd rather hear the trucks than the "music"!
That's why I left out the music in my next Rubicon video
@@ianlennox4633 cool
Ifs on 35s made it?
To the first river crossing.
@@ianlennox4633 so when u get there.. it's time to turn back around?
@@damnitdang didn't want to drive through the river and get water in the cab
@ianlennox4633 I'm afraid of water crossing g also lol.. and on 33s..and rear SUA, I can probably cross a small 2ft stream lol.. and ecu is in the kick panel
@@damnitdang yea I would just rather not deal with air drying out the whole interior and any potential electrical issues
I've always thought that the little Ranger could be made into a very capable extreme trail crawler. Ya got some very low gearing for an IRS front diff.
That's a toyota tacoma man!

@@ianlennox4633 dude you can do a simple walk around since your truck seems to be on the conservative and modest side yet extremely capable. Cheers from the 805 my dude 🤙🏻
Sweet truck man! , where did you get those mirrors ?
@@ethanbrathovd1703 thanks. Had them custom made
@@ianlennox4633 see man! People what to know the details of such a sick truck. Cheers!
Killer video guys.

Отличный маршрут 👍🏻
Besides the grey beast, are all others running on stock lbjs? Any ideas on a good mod for LBJs?
Yes. No problems with them as long as you check them for play periodically. Total chaos makes a lower uniball conversion for the 1st gen lbj. Expensive though
I just spent 5k doing steering rack, ball joints, controllers, and bearings cause of shot like this
I don't understand having the snorkels. Do y'all ride under water a lot?
I don't. They do help with keeping your filter cleaner though
Where did you get those side mirrors!?
My favorite videos are that of 1st Gen Tacoma gettin it! Awesome!!
anyone driving with an open diff in your convoy?
What bumpers you running?
All pro bumpers front and rear
Lookin good man! Let’s link up soon. Don’t think I have the travel for this😅 but we can find something fun - Ben

What parts exactly did the red truck break ??
Passenger side CV axle
@@ianlennox4633 just the axle ? I thought I saw a hub on the ground

mirrors on the red one are pretty sick
Thanks dawg 🤙
Beautiful machines and nice climbing, cheers.
Can you tell me what the gear ratios are in those? I'm regearing IFS 33's and am torn on 4.88 or 5.29. Its Manual and I carry some weight.
Definitely 4.88 for a manual. 5.29 would have a wayyy high rpm on the highway with 33s. We're both 4.88. Mine is manual and buddy is auto
@@ianlennox4633 Probably a good call. This video is sick.
