i just realized this as i was typing my last comment...what if this game was, for lack of better terms, "bad on purpose"? like, what if youre Not Supposed to solve every puzzle on the first try? it seems like the majority of the 'content' involves the Wrong answers, like Quick-Attacking the electrical panel...this isnt supposed to be Thought-Provoking like the AceAttorney series; this is supposed to be a "Try Everything On Everything" Point-and-Click Game...but not like a Sierra-made one, more like a HumongousEntertainment one, where most of the "clickables" are just silly animations that do less-than-nothing about the Plot...

37:18 - oh no, not the dreaded "Task Failed Successfully" trope...they couldve EASILY just added a Loop Point-- Pikachu gets caught in the spinning Golem, slapstick comedy, he gets flung off, he shakes himself off, he Jumps Back On And Tries Again...but i guess, at that point, even the Devs are saying "just friggin let em Win even if they Lose"...

26:40 - Pikachu fecking DIES from trying to pull open a gate, with bars wide enough for him to fit through... 27:30 - Pikachu runs through THE EXACT SAME GAP, without even thinking of trying to pull on the gate... ...i mean, the 'original' Pokemon games got a lot of jokes made against it, when your path was blocked by a twig that most 10-year-olds wouldnt even trip over...this game not only includes the same 'blocked path' logic, with the Boulder, but CONTRADICTS itself by having the solution be shown so easily, despite giving so much trouble...

"its okay if this game is boring; its made for kids" ...im pretty sure kids want their games to be Fun though? like, of all the demographics that games are 'made for', wouldnt the Young Kids age-range be the MOST important to keep entertained? that argument, to me, sounds like saying "its okay if the Desert doesnt have enough water; its made for fish"

So that it's technically an adaptation and thus game freak retains more control over the project The game being bland and rushed makes a lot more sense since it's not a game that's meant to fly on its own.

I kinda liked the first Detective Pikachu game and it's roughly the same more laid back gameplay but this one just seems so painfully bland to watch even the highlights. Some movie features I wish the game had: -- Underground Pokémon fighting ring. Evolutions Some game features I wish the movie had: -- Actually using the fact that Tim can get info from Pokémon thru Pikachu .. this was an integral part of the game. More world development.

I feel like we should, if anything, be harsher on media designed for children, why would you want your kids playing mindless slop instead of something that will engage their brain during its formative years?

To be fair to RT, it's incredibly stupid that in 2024 Nintendo requires that with either the console or the controller if you don't have a Nintendo branded cable or plug, it won't work consistently.

That's arguably the most annoying thing about Pokemon. Even when the game has no excuse to be as unoptimised as it is, it's typically still fun.
