I would never buy a used car from a used car dealer, if you can by private party or from a new car dealer and always when possible bring a mechanic or at least someone who knows about cars if you don't. I don't know who would buy a junk Mitsubishi like that in the first place.

If you have experience with the Japanese market then you would know that the guy who sold the car in Australia does not necessarily have to be aware of the rollback. Japanese suppliers adjust the mileage on their own in most cases.
