This video was so helpful, it made me feel less alone. Thank you so much for making this and keep going! These thoughts will fade one day

To my knowledge and personal experience, those negative emotions and anxiety related to writing never disappear. Things get a little better after finishing novels/publishing books, but never go away completely. They are like those job- related illnesses such as housemaid's knee or tennis elbow: part of the package. You have to deal with that, because writing is (also) this. Take me for example: I should write right now instead of be on YT. But I'm here because I had a long day and my novel is a mess and I don't want to work on it and suddenly realize that's garbage. As I said: part of the package.

This is a really cool video, I love watching people's notebook videos while sitting like a dragon on my hoard of blank ones 😂

This was such an interesting video! I've been thinking about using a writing journal to jot down ideas and drafts and you've really inspired me. Thank you for sharing!

I have been hoarding my Archer and Olive notebooks and have finally realized that I could be dead before ever getting around to using them. So might as well start even if I haven’t yet found the perfect fountain pen. 😅

Sometimes I get so excited about a new project but I accidentally direct all that excitement towards the equipment. Probably because deep inside I am afraid of failure.

I love that kind of video : calm, reflexive… and with a lot of gorgeous notebooks ! Thanks for sharing your journey and for making me think about perfectionism and impostor syndrome…

I also really enjoyed having many notebooks ! And although I love the digital tools too (team notion here), I do all the preparation of my novels in a notebook and my tasks are on my Bullet journal. Thanks for the cute and calm video. (By the way, I noticed some french on your pages ! I’m French)

It's not strange that you can't write something you are not invested in. I can't too. And the big scary stuff is not big and scary anymore one page at the time. Also, even in your dearest project, if you suddenly feel blocked, ask yourself why and listen. There is always a reason if you can't go on anymore. Probably you just made a "mistake" some lines before, or some pages. Correct that mistake (a sentence, a paragraph) rewrite it changing what needs to be changed and go on. Good luck.

I've struggled with perfectionism thinking it was because I had extrmely high standards, but instead it was because i was lacking in other parts of my and this was one way of gaining control. Chasing the idealist lifestyle, in hopes that once I have achieved it, I will be worthful.

Thank you for this video. I have multiple notebooks as well and they all have a purpose. And I'm like you, I love handwriting in my planner...it's the only way I plan lol. I liked how you mentioned seeing ideas from many different angles. I never thought of doing that with an idea. Great takeaway! Thank you.

This really couldn’t have found me at a better time. For the longest time I tried to satisfy my displeasure with my creative work by buying empty notebooks and deceiving myself into believing that there was no point in putting in the effort of writing/drawing if my tools weren’t absolutely perfect. But I found myself drawing better on loose sheets of paper and writing more fluidly on cheap notebooks. I’m still in the process of weaning off my toxic idealism and facing my discomfort, but progress is progress no matter how slow or small. Your words bring me immense comfort. Thank you.

In this social media era there's one question I have asked myself more than once: "am I writing/reading this because I want to or because I want to brag online about writing/reading this?" I always get an answer inmediately 😅

True) I fell into the same trap with 'When the Moon Hatched'. Do I like fantasy? No! Do I like modern fantasy with dragons and cliche love story? No! Do I feel intrigued by it because of youtube? Oh, yeah! waiting when it comes to my local library)
