Just shoving them in there dry? I've always greased headset cups before setting them into the frame. I do believe this can remedy some creaking before it happens.

The FSA ORBIT MX headsets look to be a very good design with pretty good quality for a reasonable cost. A good upgrade if you have a ball bearing and cage headset...😃
I won’t tell you how I did mine 😬 oh what the heck some grease a hammer and a block of wood ! To impatient to wait for my mates tool works fine just makes you cringe.

Would help if you listed the model headset you used to convert straight tube to tapered.
Joe N Many times you have to buy the upper and lower separate. You need to measure your head tube inner dimensions and find the upper and lower cups that will fit.

Why this damn adapter?
Lol you do not have to break the chain or remove the master links. Before removing the back wheel remove the bottom jockey wheel of the rear derailleur slowly and the chain can now come off the derailleur because the bottom part will open up. Now remove the back wheel and continue to remove tbe rear derailleur bolt, install new derailleur and remove the bottom jockey wheel, slide the chain in the top jockey wheel, then put the bottom section of chain with the bottom jockey wheel and hold it forward to install the shaft screw of the bottom jockey wheel. There no need to break the chain.
Dude , really ? Yeah , your way added 20 more minutes . Pop the chain off and Get-ur-, Done . What are you sight seeing .

Enoch Auguste I never remove the master link even to wash and clean the chain, I remove the chain with removing the Pulley wheel and the chain comes out easily. A good tip for anyone with a bike!

Is that a straight tube and what is the purpose of a crown rise? Reason I ask is bc I bought a used straight tube fork but no matter how lose or thought it has some pay it moved at the fork Is the crow raise suppose to keeps things in place to there is no play? Please let me know, thank you
marlon cordova that is correct, if you have a straight tube you will more than likely need a crown race. Hope that helps

What if the inner diameter of my crown race is bigger than the outside diameter of the fork is there any solution i can make to fit it?
salutetojohnlennon no, you will have to buy a 1 1/2 crown race to fit your fork

Enjoyed your video. I've been trying for the last hour to get the crown race set on a set of 1" suspension forks. It just ain't going. I've tried your method (only with a metal pipe as the ABS I purchased was too big and slipped over the race. Pipe was covered in duct tape to prevent marring) I also tried using a punch and going around the edge, no movement at all, in fact that popped what little it had set and I was back at the start. I think I'm going to give up on this for the day, recommendations would be appreciated!
