To prepare sulphur dioxide gas and study its physical and chemical\rproperties | For class 10th
Description:
🔬 Preparation of Sulphur Dioxide Gas | Science Experiment
In this video, we demonstrate how to prepare sulphur dioxide (SO₂) gas in the laboratory and study its physical and chemical properties. Sulphur dioxide is a pungent gas with important chemical reactions that highlight its acidic and reducing nature.
📋 Experiment Details:
Aim: To prepare sulphur dioxide gas and study its properties.
Theory: Sulphur dioxide is prepared by the reaction of concentrated sulphuric acid with copper turnings. The gas shows reducing properties as it reacts with acidified potassium permanganate and dichromate solutions.
Materials Used: Copper turnings, concentrated sulphuric acid, acidified KMnO₄, K₂Cr₂O₇, litmus papers, round-bottom flask, thistle funnel, burner, and other laboratory apparatus.
🧪 Procedure Highlights:
Copper turnings react with concentrated sulphuric acid to produce sulphur dioxide gas.
The gas is collected and tested for its chemical properties using potassium permanganate and dichromate solutions.
🌟 Watch to Learn:
The physical and chemical properties of SO₂ gas.
How SO₂ decolourises acidified KMnO₄ and turns K₂Cr₂O₇ green.
Safety tips and proper lab setup for handling chemicals.
📚 Educational Focus:
This experiment is perfect for students studying chemistry concepts such as acids, bases, oxidation, and reduction reactions.

To show that crystals of copper sulphate contain water of crystallisation | For class 10th
มุมมอง 8375 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video, we demonstrate how copper sulfate crystals contain water of crystallization. By heating the crystals, we observe a color change from blue to white as they lose their water. When cooled, the crystals regain their blue color, showing the process of hydration and dehydration. Materials Used: Spatula, watch glass, copper sulfate crystals, and a burner. H2SO4 was fallen on my friends hand
Be careful while handling H2SO4 it is very strong acid 💪
Bhai mask to pehana hai na because too harmful gas it is
Later i wear mask 😷 but first i get inhaled lot of Sulphur Dioxide Gas that makes me feel dizzy it was my mistake not reading precautions of SO2
thoda english galat hai par understandable❤
Thanks for your feedback I'll work on it 👍 keep watching 👀
bohot mehnat lagi hogi bhai vidio bohot pasand aayi keep it up❤
Yes it's little hard work but I love to do it , thanks for your support keep watching 👀
Good sir
Thanks for watching!
Nice sir
Keep watching
Does the quantity/portion make any difference?
Yes you have to add water as requirement , more water can lead to more thinner liquid of starch powder less water thicker solution u get
@@bundelalab ok thanks
extra nice
Thank u so much for your feedback be with us much more to explore...
Wonderful work bhai 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks bro 🙏
Niceee tysmm sir🫶🏻🫶🏻
Most welcome
why can't we recover the original quantity/mass of sand and salt which we took originally?which type of error will it be called?
Why can't we recover the original quantity/mass of sand and salt? For your Question answer is Loss during Transfer: When handling the mixture, some particles of sand or salt may adhere to containers or utensils, causing a slight loss in mass. Incomplete Separation: Not all camphor may sublimate, or some salt may not dissolve completely, leading to a discrepancy in mass. Filtration Residue: Some salt particles could remain trapped with the sand during filtration. These are examples of experimental errors like loss due to handling, incomplete separation, or measurement inaccuracies. This type of error is called systematic error (due to the setup) or human error (from handling). If you have any other questions I'm happy to help you 🙏
@@bundelalab It's clear now,thank you.
