We got it to run in the last episode...and now we got it to move! Well, all we did was put it in gear. We went to the end of the driveway successfully, so we figured let's take it down the road for a little photoshoot. Check out the drone shots! Up next is the interior for this '55 - stay tuned!

Watch as we go over our new project car, a 1957 Bel Air coupe! This one is going to stay stock. The goal right now is to put it all back together and just hit the road! But there's quite a bit to accomplish to make that happen.
THE T-BUCKET IS GONE! But What Replaces It?

FIRST DRIVE!!! Watch as the T-Bucket moves under it's own power!
มุมมอง 2326 หลายเดือนก่อน
After years of working on it, the T-Bucket finally runs and moves under it's own power! Still lots of loose ends to finish, like an interior - but what an incredible feeling to go around the block for the first time in it.
The T-Bucket RUNS! Kind of....
มุมมอง 1496 หลายเดือนก่อน
The T-Bucket runs!!! Well, kind of. We got it running but it was pretty obvious that it wasn't running on all 8 cylinders due to clogged injectors. So we moved onto building the driveshaft tunnel.
The T-Bucket Gets WIRED!
มุมมอง 2876 หลายเดือนก่อน
Okay we admit...this is a bit of a LONG and not super exciting video. But in it we wire the entire car with Painless Performance wiring. Their chassis harness, LS engine harness, and their wiring braid. It seems intimidating at first - but it really was quite painless - pun intended.
T-Bucket Gets Brake Lines!

Check Out This Old Footage Of Our 1955 Bel Air!
มุมมอง 25510 หลายเดือนก่อน
Bored during Thanksgiving, we were scrolling through old folders and found some forgotten footage! This is our '55 Bel Air shortly after we got it - we were just out playing around taking some video. The video is really bad, shot on an old GoPro Hero3, with a cheap stabilizer mount. But what a trip down memory lane for us! Stay tuned - once we finish up our T-Bucket build, this one is next on t...

I know yours, doesn't but does this one have a recessed firewall?
@@jaymondperry5106 no it doesn’t. It’s a stock firewall other than being cleaned up.
How did the gap between the body and fuel pump turn out ? I’m going this to a caprice and I need to lower the tank about a 1 1/2 for safe clearance
You know, I'll be honest - I never really looked. I just assumed the foam strips provided enough. It's gone on Power Tour again since this video and lots of daily driving without issue. But next time I'm under there I might have a look.
@@redgoatgarage hey as long at it works man , I just got back from the store going to try that foam method and see how it looks
Short cuts can be expensive folks. But sometimes you get lucky. If you don't want to spend the money on the plates to cover the ports. How about tape. Also Easy off Oven cleaner Dollar general store is good stuff. But not for aluminum because it will look like crap after. As far as paint stick and last and not fade or dull EVER. Kbs Coatings is the💩
Nice did u do an disk brake conversion
This car did have disc brakes. I currently have all the front suspension off though as I'm putting a straight axle under it. Do you have interest in seeing a disc brake swap video?
Is the regulator built in to the pump as well?
It is not. I'm not aware of any fuel pump that has a built in regulator.
What’s the gauge pod you’re using?
It's a universal Dakota Digital set up
Very Nice ! Can’t wait to see some videos my Braddah‼️😃🤙🤙🤙
I can't wait to get this thing back on the road haha!
@@redgoatgarage no doubt ! 😂
😆 🤣 straight dumb
Why are you fixing up a Mordor?
Nice!
Hell Yeah!
That actually looks really really nice😊
Thanks! I'm happy with them.
How’s it doing with the return capped off I’m about to do the same I got the return one for later when I redo my whole system for turbos I wanted to run the rails as a return system to keep the fuel cooler but factory lq9 I don’t need the return
@@NiSmO300ZX069 hey there - so I have a return still. Previous to this set up I had an in-line pump with the sump welded to the bottom of the tank. So my return goes there, to the bottom of the tank and not the top.
@@redgoatgarage sweet thanks for getting back to me I know my system from factory is return-lessso was going to cap that and use the vent until I put new rails and make it a return style
@@NiSmO300ZX069 That's how I did it on my T-Bucket with an LS, return less. Worked just perfect.
Yep very nice! 👍 That will keep the floor in great shape.
Thanks! I'm getting close to being able to do the entire underside of the car with it too.
New subscriber bro!!🔥🔥🔥
Awesome, I appreciate that!
Question, I saw you didn't put one of the oil pan bolts in since your block didn't have the hole for it. Would I have to tap that last hole in or is it ok to leave it like you did. Not sure if my comment makes sense. my block is the same!!
I wouldn’t add it. I never have and never had any leaks.
Hey, it’s luke!. Ben’s friend,that car is awesome🎉
I have a 4d and people ask why? You showed em why with yours.
More doors for more fun!
That is a beautiful ride. Great job.
Thank you! My Dad's vision came to life.
Great looking car. 👍
It has turned out really, really nice. I'm ready to see it all finished with the interior. It's currently at the interior shop.
Properly too late to comment. But our Holden Commodores here in New Zealand and Ozzy have the alternator mounted fown low on the left side of the engine block. Bolts to the engine side wall.
That would have been slick to use a factory bracket. I found one that worked and it's good to go.
Was your t bucket originally a tribute kit from speedway?
It is a tribute kit from them. I guess this one was a prototype or something like that - I bought it from a friend who bought it from somebody else so I don't know all the history of it.
@@redgoatgarage thanks. I'm working on one now and it has a lot of similarities, hopefully have it running in the next month or two.
This will last longer than the original. 👍
I hope so! I have some paint/coating I'm going to work on next that will really seal it all up. I just need to find the time to do it all.
@@redgoatgarage Yep there's a lot of great products out there now that weren't around back in 1957. Back in 1957 the cars were transportation vehicles , '57 Chevy now is a collector car You will take different care of it.
This is awesome. Can you post a link of that bracket????
I don't. I'm pretty sure it was a bracket made by ICT Billet though.
Correction - I watched the video and in it I say it's made by LSX Innovations.
Very nice Restoration job. 👍 I live in Orcutt CA. Central Coast of California.
Awesome - I grew up in Moreno Valley. That's where my parents still live, but not the house I grew up in. You might run into this '55 someday at a show, never know!
The car will be very Kool. 👍
Absolutely! I've started to order parts for it already.
I would tape over the intake ports to keep stray parts out. Good video. Thanks
Always a great idea for sure!
Nicely done looks great.
Thank you!
Your friend got the better end of the deal. 57 Belairs are like rectums.
Tim, im bummed bro!!! Was excited to see that darn thing done. But at the end of the day nothing like a new project!
I'm a bit bummed too - I planned on driving it for the summer at least. BUT the T-Bucket went to a friend who's going to finish it off and upgrade it. I told him when he's done doing that I want to come drive it and shoot a video on it, so I'll have one final update on it for all the T-Bucket fans. I'll still be on Power Tour this year - going the easy way out and taking my '62 Cadillac Limo haha
@@redgoatgarage I'm looking forward to it, I'll be driving my T.... hopefully for the HRPT so I'll be looking for you in that 62
@@GearHeadzGarageUSA That's awesome! I'll be easy to find - I'll be in the Painless Performance booth all week long.
@GearHeadzGarageUSA I’m not surprised I found you over here haha
Wow great score! 👍
Thanks!!
To bad after following the build to just have it end without seeing it finished. Enjoy your new 57 project.
He's going to finish it off and possibly turbocharge it. I figured once that's done I'll do a final video/ride around in it - so stay tuned!
Your friend have a channel? Bucket fans are real.
I don't believe so. He's going to finish it and possibly add some turbos. Once it's finished I'll go for a ride and shoot a final video of it all finished.
Awesome!!!! 👍 I've got a 383 that I want to put in my car saving money for parts.😮
Thanks! If I would have done a traditional SBC this car would have been done a long time ago but the LS was worth it. But I pretty much LS swap everything I have haha
Congratz!!!!!
Thanks! It was a very exciting day to finally drive it!
Yep working out well . 👍
Thanks!! Getting close...
Very Kool! Yep great harness. 👍
Best I've found out there. Used quite a few of them over the years.
Great progress, looking good. 👍
Thanks! I actually got the car running and but I'm behind on videos - make sure to keep an eye out!
@@redgoatgarage right on!
Just hit the sub and thumb up im thinking about buying a set
Thanks!!! They are super nice pieces, very happy with them. Zero leaks too!
Very cool. Did you sell the old trim that you replaced?Grille, etc.
It’s still rocking all that same trim!
My oil part is in the passenger side will these work with it being in the driver side ?
I'm not understanding your question - on your engine right now the engine oil fill is on the passenger side?
@@redgoatgarage yes mine is a lq4 or 7 4.8 2003 Chevy 1500 not a true LS
@@qj3780 LQ4 is a 6.0, but it doesn't matter, these valve covers fit on any LS variation engine. Your factory fill is at the front of the passenger side valve cover. With these Holley valve covers there is one under the cover and coil on the front driver's side along with one under the cover and rear coil on the passenger side.
Looking awesome
Thanks! The car has made a lot of progress since this video. Mainly wiring and what not. Hoping to hear it fire up soon!
You would think that for the price they would have designed it with oil cap acces. Definitely not using this type of valve cover.
I can see that - but if it had an oil cap then it wouldn't be as clean either. Plus this is a nice basic LS engine which, in theory, shouldn't be consuming oil. And let's face it - it's going into a T-Bucket that won't need more than probably one oil change a year at the most.
Yes. I am watching all your vids. Thanks again, 80% done on my bucket. 🪣
That's awesome! I feel like I'm about 80% done with mine too but that last 20% is an uphill battle. Should be cruising by spring though!
Instagram handle?
Hey Marc - my IG is @Bad66Chevelle454 but I admit I don't post very much there. I have been working on the T-Bucket lately and made lots of progress but haven't finished editing the videos yet for that.
@@redgoatgarage Thanks. Right after hitting send, I realized I had forgotten the context. Who was the IG handle you referenced on the build video that provided the info? @funhoggarage for me BTW...
@@marc-speaks Just followed you! I think the guy I was talking about was @pandemic_hotrods
Turning the corner on this task. Thanks for the preview.
I've been cranking away on this car lately - so hopefully I can finish it in the next few months and get the rest of the interior finished!
Music is too loud. And unnecessary. Can't hear you. Good otherwise
Very cool to see 😂😂😂
Agreed! The plan is to get this car going again this year.
